The easiest way to do this (with no tools needed) for a furled leader with a loop is to tie a perfection loop on a 3’ piece of 6 or 8 lb mono. Connect the leader to the mono loop with a handshake connection. Slide the mono through through the tippet ring and slide it all the way up, over the perfection loop and onto the furled leader. Then slide the perfection loop up the furled leader, leaving the tag end through the furled leader loop. Clip off the perfection loop from the mono and from the furled leader and discard it. Then simply tie the mono to the tippet ring with a clinch knot. Be sure not to capture the furled leader in the knot. If necessary, you can pull the tag end out of the leader loop to tie your clinch knot and then rethread it back through the leader loop after the knot is tied. Once that is done you can simply pull the tag end of the mono down through the furled leader loop, drawing the tippet ring down to the furled leader loop. You can then fold the leader loop back over the tippet ring and pull it tight. Works like a charm and no tools are needed other than nippers to trim the mono.
Tom, Thanks for the info. We are certainly don't claim to be the ultimate authority on "furled leaders", and additional input is always appreciated. Bill Bush

If I was good at filming videos, I would. It is such a simple method.
