- Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's pardon of Daniel Perry, convicted of murdering a Black Lives Matter protester in 2020, drew criticism from the family of Garrett Foster and the district attorney in the case. Perry maintained that he acted in self-defense, and Abbott cited the state's "stand your ground" law. NBC News Marissa Parra reports.

No, THIS was justice. Not that 25 yr prison sentence for self defense.
Why all reports fail to mention the victim pointed an AK-47?
Because they don't want you to know that
Because he probably didn't. Disputed by witnesses.
@@AlbertMark-nb9zoyou mean witnesses that all were black lives matter protesters that claim he's racist bigot
Good, it's crazy that the jury thought the angry mob had any right to surround vehicles and keep people from getting to their destinations.
As if that were more serious than killing someone
Perry drove into the crowd. He wasn't surrounded until then.
About time. He should have never been charged.

If that kid did raise his gun at this guy it’s his fault and the guy never should have been charged
Absolutely gross.

Yes... it depends on what color and political party they are.
So disgusting.
Exactly. He should have never been charged.

Texas is a mess, so don’t want it messier.
Why? Because the law and order Conservatives will release more murderers?

SURPRISED ABBOTT DIDN'T HAVE SOMEONE SIGN FOR HIM, LESS WORK. HES ENTITLED
No, the outrage was over them charging this guy for defending himself.
Not according to a jury. 🫠
A jury sat in a court room , listened to evidence and all 12 found him guilty. This pardon is an affront to our justice system by an arrogant and biased pardon board and governor. Law and order Republicans my a$s.

The m o r o n s defending the dude who approached with a weapon. 😂
Miscarriage of justice was the 25 year sentence. Nice typical biased reporting.
The event was that he stopped due to the protest. He then DROVE INTO the crowd. Garrett Foster then approached, with a gun he had the legal right to carry around. Perry claims the gun was raised. This is disputed by witnesses. Even in his testimony, Perry said he was afraid Garrett "would raise his gun" ie. it wasn't raised really at the time. In various social media posts he had various posts about attacking people and then claiming self defense. This is completely based on political ideology. And it's laughable the claim of "innocence". You may think so, but I suggest looking into his online presence. The guy is weird bordering on dangerous, especially when it comes to young girls. Garrett Foster RIP. I don't know if you, your family will get justice but you seemed to be a good MAN, which is more than Perry will ever be.
The only smart comment on this entire comment section. Everyone else here are brainwashed bootlickers making up their own narrative so they can sleep at night.
