E4 KΥΠΡΟΣ - Ε4 CYPRUS

The Cyprus Section of European trail E4 is an extension of a long distance nature trail that crosses through Europe. It starts at its southernmost part in Gibraltar passing through Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria and Greece. From Crete it follows on to Cyprus, joining the two international airports of the island, Paphos and Larnaca. The European trail E4 has a total length of 10450 km.
The Friends of the Earth Cyprus organized an expedition of the trail by foot and bicycles, of a total distance of 580 km, during which a specialized group of members of the environmental organization composed of various disciplines (environmentalists, foresters, surveyors, photographers and cameramen, etc.) recorded and mapped the route of the trail, aiming to contribute to the provision of the necessary information to locals and tourists wishing to explore it.
The tour was conducted between April 25 and May 14, 2011 starting from Paphos International Airport, terminating at the new Larnaca International Airport, crossing through Nicosia, Limassol and Famagusta districts.
