I knew a gardener who swore by using fishing line around her posts. The deer couldn't see the nylon line but were spooked by touching it. She would attach it at the top, middle & low between the posts around her garden. I figure it would also work if they blew around in the breeze while hanging from something. Also good for hawks.
Thanks for the recommendation. I may run a strand around our normal garden as a proactive measure. We haven’t had an issue yet, but it’s just a matter of time.
The eternal issue of deer can drive me crazy. I finally planted a row of day lilies around the shed just for them and since then they have not been eating anything else. Not to say that it will always work that way but we're in year three and so far so good. It seems to me that someone likes the kitten more than he thought he would?? She will make a great pet for Miss Madison and will help take care of some critters around the homestead. Hope all is well...enjoy the upcoming weekend.
They love lilies. We have some that bloom out front every year and we get to enjoy them for just a few days before they chew them to nothing. The cat may be growing on me little by little 🤨. Thanks
Great tip! Are you running an extension cord out to the pigs or have you had electricity officially run out to them? Just curious, as we're going to have to make some decisions about our garden.
Deer don’t mind smells, human hair, urine. We have a fence that can be electric but so far “knock on wood” they have come in our garden area. We are eventually doing a double fence. Good luck.
I’ve been amazed that they haven’t gotten into our garden in a long time. They obliterate everything else. I’ve seen the double fence idea and seems to have success

@@RockyCreekHomestead does it work?
Best way to stop deer from eating your plants is a .30-06 and a dinner table.
Very true
thank you for sharing and showing. it really helps! love the wild child take care
Thanks buddy. She’s one energetic kitten
Good tip, they’ve been hammering our plants this year too.
They’re cut critters but so destructive
I listened to this guy that posted it 5years ago and says it has been working for him. His channel is Mathew’s Landscape

We have an outdoor extension cord running to the pig area

I always wondered if those Japanese bamboo "Deer Scarer" fountains actually worked.
🤔 I’ve never heard of those. Sounds interesting
@@RockyCreekHomestead I learned about them from the O-Ren Ishii fight scene in Kill Bill vol1 lol.
I have a deer, rabbit, or a squirrel that keeps eating my garden.
I saw a squirrel in our garden the other day 😬. Hope he was just passing through.
@RockyCreekHomestead squirrels should only like nuts, but go figure they like greens also.
Perma pasture farm has bone sauce deer repellent the have a YT channel and a web site
Thanks for sharing
It did nothing for me
What? No dead electrocuted deer...disappointed!
😅
Sorry to disappoint 😆
