- 450km drive, 1 night at Nelson, 3 tank divers, 7 am, first dive in freshwater.
Ewen Ponds Conservation Park consists of three large freshwater springs, each around 10 metres deep, interconnected by a series of shallow channels. The star attraction here is its incredible visibility up to 80 metres.
In the remarkably clear waters you can spot aquatic life such as rare Ewens Pygmy Perch, galaxias and native fish hovering near the surface.
While in the ponds, look for the tell-tale bubbling of the water, revealing the source of its underground freshwater spring.
哇,潜游太酷啦!能看到美丽的水底世界和有趣的生物,还有大螃蟹🦀️呢……👍👍
nice sharing, but would suggest a more skillful buoyancy control as the formations on the floor is fragile.
You have scuba diving skills to explore as well as capture wonders of the underwater. It’s wonderful !
Not worried about crocs or hippos?
What a joke they make you pay now what's the fee anyone know?

Buoyancy control is shocking.
Stirring up all the floor of this place.
And annoying the wildlife, sheesh, it's a conservation area.
Look but don't touch.
Only person complaining is you. They seem to be doing good here i bet you cant even swim you 🤡
