I have the 7ft 2pc with a Presidental reel and 20lb braid I bought for traveling. Really sensitive with enough backbone to set hooks on plastics. I'm buying the 6ft for local bank fishing. Can't beat it for the price. I also have a few too many other rods at 63yo a some are old Fenglass which was the bomb 40 yrs ago.
I have the Fenwick Eagle light power, moderate action, paired with a Piscifun Viper X 1000. Mostly, I use it for perch, bluegills, and crappie. Really like the combo. Very sensitive.
I like that rod. It’s been on my short list for awhile. Its moderate action seemed to me like it would be good for crankbaits. I especially like that the hook keeper is up on the blank well ahead of the fore grip, because I hold my spinning rods with my hand completely in front of the reel, no fingers behind it. Too often they are within an inch of the fore grip and they get in my way.
Yea man it would be good for throwing those cranks for sure, and yea that hook keeper couldn’t be in a better spot. That is one complaint I have on most Lews rods is the position of their keepers.
After using the 6'6 Light Travel 3pc and 5'6 Ultra Light 2pc last year, these newer blue ones are exceptional for the price. Looking to add one for bass and upgrade the reels to Shimano Miravels.
Thoughts on a Shimano Sahara 1000 paired with a 6' Finwick Eagle light? Wondering if this would be versatile enough for some fun bass fishing, but also good enough for trout and crappie.
I have a 6'6 Light and 5'6 UL with a Sedona 1000. These feel way lighter sensitive than most so if there's bigger fish it will be a fight. Also reels feel heavier than on other rods so spending more for something light like the Miravel is the way to go. These rods are super nice for the money.
Thanks for the sub man! Yea that’s me picking the song, playing a close resemblance to a song keeps me from getting into copy write trouble with RUclips. They get real serious about it lol.
@@bluecollaroutdoors5556 Damn lol. Yeah I’ve heard so with using actual songs, didn’t know if playing a cover would do the same thing. I thought of playing some tunes as intro music to some of mine but sounds like I need to tread lightly. And anytime!
Just getting back into fishing. Mostly creeks, ponds, rivers here in southern Ontario. This one is on the list

What the action for the 7ft rod?
Thank you. Bought exact rod based on your video. It works great with a Pflueger President 30 and Penn Battle iii dx 2500.
I have the Fenwick 6"6 medium fast paired with a Shimano Nasci 2500. Feels great and works well.

Great review !
Heck ya. I love the rod. I’m a throwback myself but my wife keeps catching and keeping me. 🤣🤣. Have a great day buddy.
Lol, I guess you’re a keeper then.
Have a 2pc Eagle. Back bone and sensitive. Great wacky worm rod.

I have a few of them can't go wrong for $40 I use em for trout and catching bait for flathead
It is best rod price for beginning fishing trout and panfish! My opinion!
Buy now at Scheels for $49.99 with a pfluger triton and 3 Berkeley crank baits. One heck of a deal
I've used all the Fenwick rods but if you have bigger hands HMG is the way to go
Can you use this rod for carp fishing?
