@@mr.vibes938 it's not the same woman. Ella English played Helen on "Jamie Foxx". The late Alaina Reed Hall (the one you see here as Garrett Morris' character's wife) was best known as Rose on "227"
Welll this was a pilot so it may not have been granted to make into a full on series. A lot of shows from on this channel are forgotten black pilots that no one didn’t even know about
I never got a chance to watch this show when it was in primetime. I love Ellen Cleghorne. Her standup comedy is hilarious. SNL had an opportunity to really showcase her comedic talent and charisma. Unfortunately, they missed the chance.
Umm this show is awful. Great actors and comedians here, but the script is just bad. Also this premise is very bland. Did this only get a pilot? Can’t imagine it went on to become a series
I imagine the dad hates white guys so much because he knows that biracial looking little girl ain't his. Yikes, this show was tough to watch, and I really hate how Sherri Shepherd's character was written.
This show is wack. UPN still was more Warner Bros.ish and stomped The WB in the ratings. UPN/Warner Bros./WB flagship. I'm reviving UPN, which was more popular 11 years straight and creating WB, a real Warner Bros. network, no "The" before "WB," no Tribune, no frog, no "dubba," "dubba," "dubba."
“Cleghorne!” I used to unexpectedly use this phrase as an exclamation back then. No cap for real.
Omg, you have some amazing shows posted! Thank you so much for these great memories. 🤗
She started on SNL. I remember when she got her own show. I was proud of her. But this show was not it…
The script is like a rough rough draft. In fact I shocked this isn’t written by chatgtp.
She ended on SNL too...
That's where I seen her, lol.
She was on Def comedy jam too
She was so underrated on SNL
Don’t forget about a very young SHERRI SHEPHERD!
We can see 🙄
However will I recognise HER?
Damn she looked bugged out coming through that door 0:08 👀😂
😂😂
So glad this show is on here. Thank you.
This was good. I’m mad I can’t find the entire series.
What happened to the WB 90s black sitcoms.
I love the opening theme sooooooo NYC'ISH !!!! I miss the WB !
Who knew that they would go on to play Uncle Jr. and Aunt Helen

I have no memory of this show. I was 9 back in 1995 and remember black tv shows like the back of my hand, but not this.

Why come I haven't seen this before 😮😢
I have been searching for this show… haven’t seen it since 1995.. thx to family matters fan page see the episode she’s (akeyla) on dancing with richie
The 90s shows always had that one Jamaican character in it. I think it was a requirement back then.
ive been looking for this for years! id only seen the theme song til now. 😭
Rose from 227, and Garrett & Sherri . So many black sitcoms have come and gone.
These are the ones that made it at least the pilot stage. There are those with great promise that didn't make it to this stage and just died.
So many Black sitcoms....
not black sitcoms.
The B is not capitalized...@@kendricjonrs8581
I remember this. One of the original WB shows.
Didn't last long tho
I remember this show. i was a huge fan. Even the theme song was good.
Md. Sesame st and rose from 227. Was this before 227 or after?
How crazy is it that Uncle Junior and Aunt Helen were on a show before the Jamie Foxx show!!
That's not Aunt Helen, Alana Reed Hall played Rose on 227.
That’s not Aunt Helen 😂😂

Me and my family love her in Def Comedy Jam too

2 darkskinned parents with a mixed child was forever the theme in 90s TV shows
RIH Rose.
How are they living in the projects and the father works for USPS?
Joint morbid as shyt 😂
she was a beautiful woman
Two SNL stars.
Lol and I’ll just end up paying for new hips…
Lol and this one not only represents models and clowns…😂

It was a one season wonder!
I don’t remember Sherri back in 1995.
this show would have never worked with this name
I imagine the dad hates white guys so much because he knows that biracial looking little girl ain't his. Yikes, this show was tough to watch, and I really hate how Sherri Shepherd's character was written.
They always had biracial girls starring in these sitcoms.

The Lightskin daughter from two brown skin parents
So what it's called Black genes My aunt's daughter looks just like singer Monica and she and my uncle are brownskin
Jealous or something? 🤨
Ngl I said the same thing whos light skin baby is that
I support black shows....but this isn't funny. It sounds like reading cue cards.
Don't like the theme song 😂
The lead actress isn't a good actress
Wow all these shows and im 51 an never saw any of tem. They id black shows sooo wrong.
