It is incredible to think that Bravos was a real place and that they really had an elected ruler for 1,000 years, they really could build a ship in a single day that they had no wall. They were also one of the wealthiest cities in the world and could frequently buy crowns, kings, provinces armies and navies as the need arose.

Of all of the places in the Game of Thrones universe I would want to live in it would be Bravos. It just has such an awesome history and is by far the most beautiful city. I'd either want to be a simple but prosperous merchant or work for the Iron Bank, nothing too ambitious or dangerous.
It is based on real history though, especially on English medieval history and the War of the Roses. Also there is very interesting history in smaller nations not just the world powers, so maybe you could look that up ;)

You know the solution to Stannis' Dragonstone problem was simple? As long as a Baratheon is King his successor will be Prince of Storm's End, and the successor after that will be Prince of Dragonstone. Give the family's ancestral keep to the eldest heir, and keep Dragonstone as a symbol and its title through a second heir. It solves every single problem and had that played out Stannis would've risen with the Storm Lords at his back and Renly would've had less support to ruin everything.

Why didnt D&D consult more with GRRM this season and last? If I were in their shoes, I would have moved in with GRRM while writing seasons 7 and 8. Though it is not their fault he couldnt finish the books before they finished the series, it is their fault for putting unnecessary deadlines and limitations on the last 2 seasons, and for not reaching out to him or relying on him for more dialogue and character development. Seasons 1-4 (heavily influenced and reliant on GRRM) were seriously great on dialoque, seasons 5-8, not so much.
They had a fallin' out with George RR Martin around Season 5, ran out of the book material they could be bothered to read, and were stuck with his notes. To pour salt in the damn wound, they were so focused on Star Wars that they neglected their duties as writers, only to get kicked off the team.

I consider Valyria more like the Minoans from the island of Crete, if I'm not mistaken. A once prospering nautical civilization utterly destroyed by a volcanic eruption, leaving only ruins like the Palace of Knossos. Sound familiar? While Atlantis could be considered a viable candidate, it's more mythological than anything else, there's little to no proof it actually existed, and even Greek mythology considered it Poseidon's home, not really lending a lot of credibility to it. The Minoan Civilization, on the other hand, are factual and have left behind evidence of their existence, like Valyria did, with it's ruins and the Boiling Sea.
I must say, as evil as Ramsay and Roose were, House Bolton has got to be one of my favorite houses if not my favorite. There's so much history and info the show left out though, it's kind of disappointing really....I wish the series had been longer and contained more history of the books and involved more of Essos, such as Yi Ti and Asshai

I consider Valyria more like the Minoans from the island of Crete, if I'm not mistaken. A once prospering nautical civilization utterly destroyed by a volcanic eruption, leaving only ruins like the Palace of Knossos. Sound familiar?
While Atlantis could be considered a viable candidate, it's more mythological than anything else, there's little to no proof it actually existed, and even Greek mythology considered it Poseidon's home, not really lending a lot of credibility to it. The Minoan Civilization, on the other hand, are factual and have left behind evidence of their existence, like Valyria did, with it's ruins and the Boiling Sea.

I must say, as evil as Ramsay and Roose were, House Bolton has got to be one of my favorite houses if not my favorite. There's so much history and info the show left out though, it's kind of disappointing really....I wish the series had been longer and contained more history of the books and involved more of Essos, such as Yi Ti and Asshai
