As far as Chrono Trigger’s team dynamics go Crono is the leader, Frog is the who I would see as the Lancer, Marle is the Heart, Lucca and Robo are the dual geniuses, and Ayla is the muscle. With Magus as Seventh Ranger. I always saw Frog as the main leader of the group, especially after Crono’s death. Fun fact: You can potentially end the game with just Frog, Marle, Lucca and Ayla. So yeah. That’s why I see Frog as the overall leader of the team.
12:07 I do agree with that idea of what Karma is about as well. The book about the Mahabharata that I read did show many examples of both good and bad intentions and actions and the consequences that they led to. Interestingly enough, the Mahabharata also states that inaction isn't good for your Karma as well since you aren't gaining anything which leads to enjoying nothing.
18:23 Serph: "My controller... disconnected" 19:50 "God is now downloading Earth" - Some speedrun I watched years ago 21:36 Angle: "Case closed. This is how your justice ends" 23:24 "Serph died and I was given protagonist role" - Demi-Gale
As the saying goes: Roses are red, voilets are blue, 3:02 Quick explanation about Abaddon: having only one party member active prevents him from using gate to abyss. This causes him to never switch fases, he only does that after using gate to abyss and when you've failed to deal enough damage to make him spit out the eaten party member. When you've failed to deal enough damage he'll do noxious cloud followed by reguritate and bellow. A low level strat I saw by Jim Reaper on youtube is to buff agility, magic and defence twice and debuff his agility, physical attack and defence twice, withdraw everyone except Roland and spam zanma, using dia on the blinking press turn if his health is low. If you're really bored, you can also grind a lot of attack mirrors and impact bombs and spam those with a level 1 Argilla to win (I can't seem to find the video of this on youtube).
My favorite merchant in an RPG ever is in FFX when you're about to go rescue Yuna from Seymour the merchant charges you and Waka goes: "What?! You're charging us now of all times? If we fail you'll die too, ya know!" "I have faith you'll survive so I'm charging you under the assumption you will." "Ugh... Fine."
18:30 Yeah this was Wild to see Serph took Heat stab and then drag them both into the Egg. All the while Sera in Abject horror accidentally cause the Apocalypses with that cutscene Giving you a hint of something to come
I love the cutscene between cielo and the team rocket guy, it really emphatize the growth that all these characters that had in the previous game about "Rend slaughter devour your enemies". Also that "Cielo is far greater than you" is perfect. Also Hunting betrayl is one of the best boss theme i ever heard in JRPG. Damn the fact that Serph stand there after heat's charge is insane and that sera's scream is really haunting....also THE CAT WATCHES AGAIN WITH INTEREST . I love how gale is becoming the leader of the embryon with his intelligence and aptidude to the situation even as tragic as that. Also Angel was really cold with shooting madame. Poor cielo man he is heartbroken.
Cielo was someone who valued comrades as much as Argilla did back in the first game, so it makes sense. Edit: NGL, when we get more info about Serph, I want to go more into why his character works with how the other characters develop. And I’m beginning to understand why these certain dialogue options are required.
Yeah, WE at least kept our humanity. This guy, well he and Bat might get along. (Though only briefly, as Bat would then betray him) I agree that it's an amazing.
1:46 I find this scene to be really creepy of how it's earth who devours his comrades because he was definitely the most calm one out of the three. 23:50 You do keep the karma ring when serph leaves.
Remember how one of if not the first lines of the first game was Argilla telling Surf that everyone was replaceable except for him well look at how far we have come!
2:10- Disturbing indeed. Didn't think this would happen to those guys. 3:30- Which is interesting seeing someone have multiple demon forms. Only really saw that with Angel, but that was typical second phase boss stuff, so the Earth guy getting Abaddon is a surprise. 6:32- An infamous boss because he can force party members to go MIA. Where have I heard this one before... *Devourer of Man Trauma Intensifies* 11:16- Not only of what he did, but also it meaning NOTHING given how he lost in spite of the sins he did for that power. 11:30- Yep, Angel's very much a chaos rep if they're going on about breaking the cycle of creation or something of the sort. 12:46- Looking forward to seeing how many fans of this game will be posting about this next year when we hit that day. 16:52- CAT! 18:14- Serph! 19:56- Oh F^^^ we're nuking the outside world! Will the outcast city be safe?! 23:45- Quite the twist. I'll need some time to really let that sink it, but I'll at least give the game credit for making such a big move. 26:09- First guy I'll give the benefit of the doubt of some dramatic irony of finally realizing the value of something related about the environment when it's about to be gone for good, but that lady, yeah absurd to think of something like that at this moment. 29:45- Hey, if we save the world, she's going to need the money after. She doesn't want to end up like a certain NPC in another game with a world ending event (don't want to spoil which game) where they spent every dime they had left before the end only for the heroes to save the day and end up broke in a saved world. Xp 30:51- And more importantly, only seems to ever be acting because of the stupidity of humanity. 33:34- Speaking of people thinking/doing ludicrous when the world ending, you're thinking of doing the gacha NOW of all times Klingy! Xp 34:12- Wait Ice Wall? Is... Is that a SMTV/VV Dampener?! This game came up with the idea first? Never knew that. In other news, pain. But be more precise, for today's run of Battle Brothers, things were interesting. First, TAX FRAUD. Not really, but... I got a contract to do road patrols for a few days. Once I made the rounds I'd report back, BUT for every confirmed kill, I'd get paid. Doing the job normally, I only got six kills, which would account for a little more than a day's pay. I needed more enemies to kill. So I decided to "test" something. So if I "happened" to "accidentally" stumble upon an enemy encampment and "included" any kills in that fight "during" my rounds, I figured it might count for my bonus (hence the tax fraud joke, which I'm keeping since the idea of Green Units commiting tax fraud is funny). And I found a Barbarian Encampment somewhat near the road. I thought it would be an easy fight, despite saying there would be a lot of enemies. I thought that was going to be around like maybe 8-10 main enemies plus all of the dogs in the scouting report. Turns out there were *16* Barbarian Reavers (which to quickly summarize, are pretty strong barbarians that can EAISLY kill even well armored men in a few hits). Mistakes were made, especially as one upcoming star and one veteran of mine fell during the battle. But I decided to continue to see if I could beat the fight to prove that I could. And I did. Time to reload an- Oh wait, the two guys that fell survived the fight! The Veteran only lost an ear, which sucks given that loses initiative and I'm making him a Nimble Bro which needs a lot of initiative to work, but you know, losing only an ear to enemies that could crush your skull is honestly not too bad. Unfortunately the other guy got PTSD, so that's pretty much killed his combat viability. Okay, NOW time to reload unless this camp has a Famed/Named Item in it, which I highly doubt given how close this camp is to a ci- AND this camp had a Named Rapier in it that's actually good (the weapon's kind of a meme for more optimized stuff in the Battle Bros community apparently, but I'll take this gifted horse regardless)... So looks like it's time for me to keep the consequences of my actions. AND all of the kills (at least humans; Doesn't count the enemy war dogs for my pay. One one hand cheapskates, but on the other, maybe I should be glad about not getting money for dogs dying), so Tax Fraud worked! But with those two out of commission and another guy with a lingering wound, I decided to hire two rookies to fill in the gaps... And both of them got seriously injured on the first day of the job when I found brigands off the patrol routes to continue my tax fraud. But eventually I got almost the max amount of money and reported back in, successfully committing Tax Fraud against the Noble. Green Units finally get to know what it's like to be the raider instead of the raided. One of our noble contracts required us to intercept a caravan from another Kingdom and destroy it before it reached its destination and make it seem like it was a brigand raid. The quest felt like bullying as the client, a Noble House that literally owns 85% of the continent, wanted to raid a Kingdom with only three towns to its name, but a job's a job. At first it was intimidating as the caravan wasn't a merchant one, but one escorted by noble house soldiers. However, these guys were a lot weaker than the proper soldiers you'd see in something like the Nobles' War crisis, so they were pretty easy to take. Despite them being easy, the loot was still great as we made off two 130 mail and a 150 durability mail, helping to ease my armor situation a smidge, as well as to get us a lot of high quality shields and other goods. Not going to lie, after raiding this place, I was SO tempted to sell some of the loot at the town this caravan was going to for irony, but I'd figured not to, *just* to be safe. After arriving back and getting my pay for that job, I felt confidant about my next job... I then spent like two or so hours trying to beat it. I was offered 3.2K crowns to kill whatever was plaguing the local forests. I thought it would be only more giant spiders or direwolves, assuming it'd be an easy job. Turns out that was not the real threat. Instead, it was my first time facing a new enemy I've only heard about in the game's loading tips: Schrats. What are Schrats? Trees. The Trees want me F^^^ING DEAD. They're actually ents, but like saying the literal desert wants me dead when facing Eefrets, I find it funnier saying Trees now want me dead. So what made the Schrats so annoying to face? Well first, look at the damage we do to them *Tiniest pixels of HP removed* There is no damage. They actually have "shields" and if you don't break them, it takes FOREVER to to damage them. Second reason, they hurt. A LOT. Like almost Lindwurms levels of damage. One of their hits on my tankiest guys, did 75 armor damage and half of hsis actual health in one attack during one of my attempts. Not only that, their attacks are also line AoEs (except the one time they somehow curved their one shot, cheating prics), meaning it's VERY easy for them to kill men provided they hit (their hit rates are sketchy, but with how long it takes to kill them, the odds will favor them eventually). Third, there were three of them. And also Dire Wolves whenever we fought in the forest. Made the fight a living hell. Almost gave up on the contract entirely until I made two changes. The first, I gave some of my men some axes from our fights against the Barbarians; Best way to beat them and to break those shields so we can actually do real damage is to embrace our inner George Washington and chop those pricks down. Second and this was a lucky break that made this fight possible, was when I reloaded to reaccept the contracts, the Schrats moved outside of the woods and into open fields, nullifying the ambush event where they get the Dire Wolves, meaning it was just us versus those three. And after two attempts on open field, we FINALLY chop those SoBs down. We got paid well. However, we decided to retire the PTSD guy afterwards and sent him on his way... Only to hire him back as after giving him compensated pay, we used our tree money to get the Drill Sergeant retinue, who you can hire after dismissing a non-indebted bro who suffered a permeant injury with pay. Once again, tax fraud pays off. After that, we continued our personal ambition to visiting every settlement on the map. Trying to clear that one more or less when the Endgame Crisis starts. After having the Green Units plow through a frozen tundra, looting some places for high value sell items, we made it to the third and second to last places we've yet to visit. Next time, on top of any work we find, we'll try to reach the final place we need to get to.
0:35 Hell yeah, the return of Earth, Wind, and Fire! 1:46 Oh great, it's Team Rocket again. Or at least, just "James". 2:11 Oh god, James ate Jessie and Meowth! 3:23 On one hand, the fact that we were going to fight Abaddon was spoiled by the video's title, but on the other hand, the fact that his demon form changed after he ate the other Tribhvana members is pretty disturbing. 4:26 Holy crap, it is! That's cool! 7:15 Now that's a lot of damage! 11:16 In some ways, that's a crueler punishment than death. After all, when you die, you certainly would feel some kind of pain, on top of whatever pain you're already feeling, but eventually, the pain stops. But when you continue to live, any pain you feel, whether that be physical or emotional, only continues to grow and grow until you eventually long for death, only for it be just out of reach. 12:11 In other words, good actions lead to good outcomes, and vice versa. 12:39 Wait a second, May 20th!? That's my birthday! That's... neat, I guess. 16:31 Damn, that is one big-ass egg! 18:13 Well, s*it. 19:31 Yeah, I am certain that's Yuri Lowenthal doing a British accent. 19:45 Holy s*it, that's a lot! I wish my internet was that fast! 20:16 I believe this is what we in the business refer to as "the end of the world as we know it". 23:44 Based! Gale is best boy! 25:12 Yeah, that is pretty f*cking badass! 29:56 Cielo? I think you meant to say Gale that time. 32:23 More Argilla x Jinana shipping, I hope? 34:07 And that is the exact reason why I will never step foot into a casino: I already have a bit of a gambling problem when it comes to fictional currency, so if I were to do it with real currency, I might just go bankrupt.
3:23 I like how he has a different demon form now. 11:16 ...Yeah that about sums it up. 12:39 Hope they release a DDS remaster on that day... 23:44 Yay! 32:23 It's a shame "that thing" hasn't shown up yet because there's even MORE there! 34:07 Plus, irl casinos are designed to cheat you out of your money.
I like the implication Cielo fights Earth and wins on its own but I do not know how feasible it is. Also the rare time Cielo is just raw. This scene with Heat charging at Serph I genuinely thought it was gonna be another fake fight, or that if it wasn’t Serph would jump out the way but seeing Serph let himself get impaled and then dragging himself and Heat down and seeing a leader switch hit me like a ton of bricks. Doubly so since. Serph had been a huge carry for me on my first play through. Though we get to play as Gale and tell a child that we do not comprehend. Though being honest this feels so much bigger than it ever did previously. A real David versus Goliath situation. We the ants dealing with a broken god that is deleting the Earth.
Cielo never change man. Stay with your comrades and don't you dare beat yourself up over anything. 17:25 Heat come on man just tell us at least. Like I know why he is like that but spoilers 23:38 Holy shit that was nuts.
10:17 Spoiler below Wow, we didn't even eat him. He was so weak, we literally left him alive to wallow in his own weakness. I know he was a tough boss fight but this fell story significant.
1:54 How many times do we have to teach this lesson old man!? 2:17 Poor Argilla. 2:32 You just ticked off Cielo. Big mistake. 2:55 again, now I’m really loving these characters. Also Gale saying that Cielo is greater than them, when he was quick to say Bat would make a better ally, that says a lot. 6:38 Reminds me of the Phantom in KH1 where he can kill all of your party members 1 by 1 via the clock tower. 10:24 Cielo slander is not allowed anymore… 14:07 Kind of reminds me of the World of Light with Galeem. Or Super Buu’s human extinction attack. 17:07 Awww! Hug! 17:18 though it was brief, Gale was smiling! Gale! 17:28 if Heat wasn’t involved, I would focus on getting Sera a new suit of clothes… because this is awkward to say the least. 18:13 Talk about gutless… Wait! I need to make this joke CHIDORI! 18:32 Even after everything, Serph still sees Heat as his comrade… 19:28 Well that’s a mood kill. Yuri Lowenthal as Shulk anyone? 20:37 that’s quite a lot of bloodshed. 20:53 so Serph became Makoto Yuki? Ok. 22:16 I really love how Cielo takes this the hardest. 23:25 Our protagonist is dead! Now Gale is the true protagonist!
Poor Argilla just can't catch a break; her girlfriend died last game, her bestie (and Heat, I guess) appears to die this game, and she got eaten by a giant blob thing twice! 26:47 Kittens, on the other hand, have heads as fuzzy on the inside as on the outside (I have raised a lot of kittens)
Well... wasn't expecting that to be the fate of the funny mini-boss squad. Though I guess it's not too surprising... 6:51 Even TvTropes has it out for Cielo! Poor Argilla got eaten twice in one boss fight. Serph is dead...Jenna has killed Margot...and now the world is ending. And it's only Part 12. DDS2 is something else... Gale has been promoted to main character status, which he definitely deserves.
They went from funny to dark REAL quick. 6:51 Rip. I deleted that sentence btw. Sadly I'm kinda glad she did, since if I lost Gale or Cielo things could've gone far worse.
19:52 OK I know it takes away from the scene but this game HAD to have had a car guy on the team. The DMC 12 Deloreans as regular cars and now an early 4th Gen Camaro? Like the Citroen Van in P5 might have been a bit of a deep cut but the choices here are just amazing even me.
I have to say this is all escalating very quickly from a small rebel movement. We just wanted to get Sera back and now Serph just let all that happen without a struggle and the world is even more screwed, even if they stop the transmission I don't think god is going to bring back the missing parts of the earth. Even the important villains are dying. I feel like word spreads really fast and everyone is taking the threat of the world disappearing by the next sunrise much more seriously than expected. You would think that would be alarming enough to get everyone to work together but there is still more game left.
But then James ate Jessie and Meowth. What, no, this isn't a Pokemon creepypasta. That's exactly what happens. 0:56 Or you could be evil and just swap him back out. 1:45 Hi James, what's with the statue collection. 3:01 I love the delivery of this line. 3:24 I guess this is the only case of actual demon fusion in DDS. 4:23 Huh, i thought this theme was only on the... other battle it sounds in. 6:00 And then he rumbled all over Argila. Rude. 6:51 Don't listen to the Cielo haters, he's awesome. 9:30 Oi, remember to spit out our Argila before you vanish, yeah? Cool, thx. 10:45 Ah he didn't vanish he has just been destroyed emotionally. 11:35 Yes, can't die unless killed. Somehow that doesn't sound too far from how it works normally. 12:45 Huh, we're the 96th tribe. 16:50 Also cat. 17:21 Why do they keep removing Sera's clothes. 18:04 "What're you gonna do? Stab me?" Yes. Very much so. 18:39 Into the egg they go. 19:52 Woah that car just got Ctrl-X'd out of existance. And the road. And all of those buildings apparently. 20:27 Meanwhile, the final boss wrecks everyone as expected. 21:34 Wow, this scene goes way differently than in the Deus challenge run. In there, Angel went "Vive la revolution" into gun. Instead she uses gun and then talks. 22:02 Welp, seems like Chaos is winning. 22:14 Finally they gave Sera clothes again. 23:24 YEP THE CUSTOMIZABLE PARTY MEMBER IS GONE. There's a reason he wasn't the game over condition in either game. 24:06 The Earth is getting a (very slow, thankfully) Ctrl-A Ctrl-X, and that, obviously, is very bad. 25:12 Damn, who would've thought the end of the world could be so pretty? 27:58 ...oh right permanent day. How did God turning off the black sun mean it was night time anyway? 29:49 Heeeeey the catchphrase is back. 30:45 He's not evil, we've just not been giving him good reasons for us to stay here. Hell, Sera just witnessed the murder of the person she cared for the most. That scream... 33:09 HMMM... i do not like where this is going if it goes how i'm thinking it will. 35:11 Oh cool, thanks. 35:18 Hey it's SMT5's Taunt. Next time, we turn off the power. Hopefully.
0:56 I guess you can. But with 200% Zio damage, why would you want to? 18:04 Never ask Heat that question. 23:24 Noooooo my OP magic build! 35:18 Oh yeah, SMT5 does have attention-drawing moves.
When it comes to Earth’s pre battle cutscene, I don’t think it’s a bad scene but it doesn’t really do much for me when it comes to Cielo. Due to how Cielo has been written, he’s the comedic relief most of the time and rarely takes part in the games more dramatic scenes, While I do feel like him chiming up here does make sense once Earth has revealed what he has done, I get the feeling that Cielo values friendship and loyalty, Earth has devoured his team mates. Buf in this case it’s scene that doesn’t have to be Cielo, Argilla has moral quandaries with devouring and likewise is shown to be loyal to the Embryon and values others heavilly, as well as having a very visceral reaction to what Earth says he did, Gale himself in this scene shows that he also disapproves and he’s also shown strong loyalty, making being angry and disgusted at Earth something that all of them can do, Making this scene something that I feel doesn’t justify its character focus as much, Something I don’t feel I can say with other characters stand out moments, Argilla’s friendship with Jinana and her subsequent being the most adamantly angry at Bat for his betrayal for example. Gale’s promise to Lupa comes from Gale being the one to reach out on Lupa’s deathbed and then later counselling Fred… Hence it makes the use of Cielo for this scene feel more forced than it’s likely intended to be, with them giving Cielo this scene because they felt he was underused rather than designing it for him. Also watch in the rest of this video, While I get why Earth is fought here, they Tribhavana didn’t get a send off during the last fight and just after this you go right into the Apocalypse, I do feel like it would have been better if the culmination of their arc where focused on just the last dungeon, rather than having Earth disappear for the end of the last dungeon and most of this one. 20:04 So the end of the world, I wonder if Digital Devil Saga going this far this fast is because while gameplay wise your power has been reset story wise we have had an entire game before this to build up character development and story stakes, Hence Digital Devil Saga 2 having many endgame worthy relatively early on. Albeit the best comparison I have to Digital Devil Saga, numbered Trails games, they do tend to end with massive status quo shifts that the next game has to resolve, But if there is something that would devastate the country/end the world unleashed during a Trails game it would be released during the Endgame of the second part. 23:40 Congratulations Gale, you have been upgraded to JRPG Protagonists and we haven’t taken away your spoken dialogue privileges. Something that makes Maya in Persona 2 Eternal Punishement weird to me considering she was a regular party member in Innocent Sin. Also, When it comes to the idea of representing a game through its Protagonist, would Gale count in anyway, He is technically one now but it took a full game and a fair amount of another, but only because of Serph dying. And this just came to me, let’s say for example Atlus made a fighting game combining Shin Megami Tensei I-V , Devil Summoner, Devil Survivor and Digital Devil Sagq, pretty much of the main series that use straight demons/alignment systems…. How many characters from Digital Devil Saga would you have to get through until Gale is the most important option left, assuming it got more than 1-2 characters. 32:13 If I had a dollar for every time a a black haired character went into a catatonic state after seeing someone close to them die by being stabbed by a character associated with Fire working with the enemy after one of the two rescued, I would have two dollars, which isn’t enough but strange than it happened twice.
I think they should’ve saved the first time you hear hunting betrayal for the rematch with heat. Team rocket dude doesn’t feel significant enough imo. Also it’s funny how he gets cheese hard in a solo run

2:11 And you do not deserve the title of SMT Team Rocket. The anime's Rocket actually care about each other 3:08 Time for Cielo's time in the spotlight! 3:24 Well guess I can do this! I tune Level 4, Earth of the Tribhvana with the Level 10 Dark Tuner, Fallen Corpses! Devourer from the depths, betray your comrades and obtain even greater power! I Dark Synchro Summon, Level -6, Abaddon! 6:48 I'll take notes as one of my ideas for a P6 boss had gimmick of eating the party. Fairy tale character that did so 14:39 Yeah let's just ignore how scared Harley was out of his mind, how the death of Jinana affected Argilla or how Lupa was only able to have his wish answered in death. Not to mention how the a.is only did this because they were ordered to, yeah no I really wouldn't say it worked 18:20 Even the cat recognized how brutal that was 18:41 Serph settles with a self sacrifice 22:30 Considering Cielo's words to Earth, that must hurt even more
Also, it's kinda crazy "Fake Jamaican Accent Guy" gets one of the hardest lines in the game. And I thought it was pretty suspicious that Serph was almost to the 80's in Magic by the time he "Died". I don't know if he comes back as I have never played any SMT or Persona game. But like, he seemed to be getting buffed WAY too much.
Side note: The Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis opening came out. It was beautiful. And it made me ship Makoto and Aigis even more. Especially during the sequence of Red and Blue similar to the official art. It’s beautiful.
I am still more of yukari and Makoto but damn the opeining is as chef's kiss as any atlus opening, using the color scheme during the opeining was peak.
Havent caught up completely on the run but its worth knowing how buffs and debuffs have been nerfed. Obviously the limit is reduced to +-3 but heres how much each (de) buff helps compared to the previous stage: +-1 = 20% +-2 = 10% +-3 = 5% This means going to +-3 is not much of a benefit compared to +-2 and it dodges boss countermeasures that happen when its at -3 or youre at +3. Only go to +-3 if the boss has no dekunda/dekaja but DOES have buffs or debuffs as going to +-2 is still fine but +-1 isnt
20:05 MMM yummy data, I've now permanently ruined such a dramatic scene. 21:44 I'm a demon too but a gun BANG 23:35 it is very funny that they went this way and still got him to be the real protagonist. 31:30 How do we take Fred places if he's not infected? hmmm, how does he stay in the overworld? why does the sun not work through the domes? so many questions 35:40 bar accidentally going back there you'd surely never find that.
3 of the last 4 bosses have been Team Rocket. Think God will share their wifi password if we asked nicely, you could literally use every computer on the planet online at once with zero delay at that point. 23:55 Serph automatically unequips any Karma Ring he has on him after that Cutscene, so you're never screwed if he has one on. That said you're locked out of Field Hunts with Serph dead for no adequately explained reason and despite his promotion to acting protagonist, you're still not getting to choose Gale's stats on level-ups.
4:56 from this perspective, abbadon looks somewhat like a toad. I always saw it as just a mouth I was already spoiled on serph leaving the party but i did NOT expect it to happen by heat killing him and serph then setting of an endtime event. 34:14 99% of dds2 players stop right before they get the karma rings
2:08 What the f---! Somehow, they made him worse than the other two! 5:57 He's saying it wrong. 6:28 Mariko really was Abaddon with makeup! 7:54 "You're a superior psycho!" 10:39 I think letting him live is a mistake, but maybe Cielo will prove me wrong. 11:54 I am amazed by the SMT writers always doing their research! 14:24 Angel somehow manages to torture AIs. 18:17 The Cat is basically, "This is getting good!" 19:30 The counterpart to British Tiki! I actually do like the accidental accent she has. 20:13 You get points for trying, but there's nowhere left to go. 21:35 Angel can be even worse than the actual SMT angels at times! 22:58 How does he know that? 23:37 Is there a Trope for this, and if so, what is it called? I've only seen one other example of this in a video game, and that was heart-wrenching too. 25:57 Fred's got the right of it! 27:58 31:03 Technically two. 32:39 I'd like to think that the novel is called Quantum Devil Saga. 33:05 Or maybe she'll join him. 35:18 So that's why the took it off a Karma Soldier they killed.
@@BigKlingy 2:08 True. I need to get a Shiny Espeon someday and name it Cu Sith. The problem with Shiny Pokemon in general (besides the odds) is that you're more likely to want the naming rights, but prior to Sword and Shield, it isn't feasible to work that out before trading. 19:30 "(He's) worth every penny!"
Roses are red Violets are blue @3:03 In all seriousness, such a great character moment for both Cielo and Gale Also, Serph is dead. Not often a JRPG kills off its main character mid-way through
6:50. Again with the Cielo slander. When will it end? #CieloIsGood 11:08. Same. Most of the time I prefer it when Heroes kill especially evil/heinous Villains but sometimes, letting them have a "Fate Worse than Death" can be equally or even more satisfying. 24:12. That's not even an exaggeration. that scientist said the data transfer was happening at a rate of 945.56 zettabytes per second. For comparison, the amount of data generated by the entire Earth in 2024 (One Year) is estimated to be around 147 zettabytes.
6:50 The slander goes ever on... thankfully things are turning around now. 11:08 Which is why what happens to Kamoshida in P5 is so satisfying. 24:12 Wow, one of those rare times a big data measurement DOESN'T age terribly! (E.g in Friends where Chandler brags about his laptop's single-digit MEGABYTES of RAM)
@@BigKlingy I think It's perfect for every story boss, but yeah, not much for superbosses. Epic battle fits them more as there are no personal stakes in them.
This moment with Gale being promoted to main character reminds me of Chrono Trigger during the scene in the Undersea Palace after losing to Lavos.
As far as Chrono Trigger’s team dynamics go
Crono is the leader, Frog is the who I would see as the Lancer, Marle is the Heart, Lucca and Robo are the dual geniuses, and Ayla is the muscle.
@@TheJaredPunch I guess in some sense, Gale is Frog here, huh?
@@NicoTheCinderace in a sense, yeah. And Sera is Marle.
I only played Chrono Trigger WAY later and had already been spoiled on that, but it's still an amazing game.
@@BigKlingy It very much is an amazing game. And the fact that they had the guts to do that made me adore it even more.
18:23
Serph: "My controller... disconnected"
19:50
"God is now downloading Earth"
- Some speedrun I watched years ago
21:36
Angle: "Case closed. This is how your justice ends"
23:24
"Serph died and I was given protagonist role"
- Demi-Gale
19:50 The sentences these kinds of games make you say...
21:36 lol exactly.
As the saying goes: Roses are red, voilets are blue, 3:02
Quick explanation about Abaddon: having only one party member active prevents him from using gate to abyss.
I guess reflection is broken in SMT as always. Thanks for explaining the solo strat though.
My favorite merchant in an RPG ever is in FFX when you're about to go rescue Yuna from Seymour the merchant charges you and Waka goes:
"What?! You're charging us now of all times? If we fail you'll die too, ya know!"
"I have faith you'll survive so I'm charging you under the assumption you will."
"Ugh... Fine."
I love it when they justify things like this.
18:30 Yeah this was Wild to see Serph took Heat stab and then drag them both into the Egg. All the while Sera in Abject horror accidentally cause the Apocalypses with that cutscene Giving you a hint of something to come
No wonder Sera has basically shut down at this point.
(Though only briefly, as Bat would then betray him)
I agree that it's an amazing.
@@BigKlingy
Or bat might get eaten too

1:46 I find this scene to be really creepy of how it's earth who devours his comrades because he was definitely the most calm one out of the three.
23:50 You do keep the karma ring when serph leaves.
1:46 Exactly, I'd always expected it would be the Cu Sith guy.
23:50 Figured as much.
Great video
Cielo's most badass moment :)
Even more than him being clutch for the Demi-Fiend!
Remember how one of if not the first lines of the first game was Argilla telling Surf that everyone was replaceable except for him well look at how far we have come!
Now. No one is replaceable.
*Devourer of Man Trauma Intensifies*
11:16- Not only of what he did, but also it meaning NOTHING given how he lost in spite of the sins he did for that power.
Xp
30:51- And more importantly, only seems to ever be acting because of the stupidity of humanity.
33:34- Speaking of people thinking/doing ludicrous when the world ending, you're thinking of doing the gacha NOW of all times Klingy! Xp
34:12- Wait Ice Wall?

18:13 It brings back bad memories of Beelzemon gutting Leomon in Tamers and traumatizing Jeri… the poor soul…
3:23 I like how he has a different demon form now.
11:16 ...Yeah that about sums it up.

I've heard some say this works well, but I've never tried it.
I love how your dialogue with NPCs changes when controlling Gale.
That David part is fitting 😅
Cielo never change man. Stay with your comrades and don't you dare beat yourself up over anything.

10:24 Cielo slander is not allowed anymore…
14:07 Kind of reminds me of the World of Light with Galeem. Or Super Buu’s human extinction attack.
17:07 Awww! Hug!
17:18 though it was brief, Gale was smiling! Gale!
17:28 if Heat wasn’t involved, I would focus on getting Sera a new suit of clothes… because this is awkward to say the least.
18:13 Talk about gutless…
Wait! I need to make this joke
CHIDORI!
18:32 Even after everything, Serph still sees Heat as his comrade…
19:28 Well that’s a mood kill.
18:42 Spoiler below
Damn Serph is tough as nails, being able to drag Heat with him as they fall into a pit.
This boss stumped me so hard in my first run, but I love it so much regardless, I’ll always pop for Abaddon having a significant role
I think I died 5 times to this boss on my first playthrough. Sometimes it's just about who he decides to swallow.
6:51 Cielo is surprisingly one of the most goated characters in this game as a character.
Yeah. I feel bad for those two guys. Somewhat…

Yeah they put some pretty interesting vehicle cameos in. Too bad they exist to be destroyed.
2:08 obligatory Vore joke
3:02 in the wise words of Buffie “Roses are Red, Violets are Blue…”
2:08 So I'd been spoiled on this plot point, but was shocked it wasn't the obviously psycho guy who ate the others (the Cu Sith one).
Yeah this game's plot escalates VERY fast.
Buf in this case it’s scene that doesn’t have to be Cielo, Argilla has moral quandaries with devouring and likewise is shown to be loyal to the Embryon and values others heavilly, as well as having a very visceral reaction to what Earth says he did, Gale himself in this scene shows that he also disapproves and he’s also shown strong loyalty, making being angry and disgusted at Earth something that all of them can do, Making this scene something that I feel doesn’t justify its character focus as much,
Something I don’t feel I can say with other characters stand out moments, Argilla’s friendship with Jinana and her subsequent being the most adamantly angry at Bat for his betrayal for example. Gale’s promise to Lupa comes from Gale being the one to reach out on Lupa’s deathbed and then later counselling Fred…
Hence it makes the use of Cielo for this scene feel more forced than it’s likely intended to be, with them giving Cielo this scene because they felt he was underused rather than designing it for him.
I heard Hunting Betrayal for the first time before I played DDS2, and I was VERY surprised it didn't play for the first Heat fight.
19:50 You wouldnt Download a Car, would you? ...DDS2 God would!
lol, I remember that ad.
2:36 The game is really trying to make us not feel bad for killing and eating our enemies.
Brutal Boss? Yeah.. Heard it from earlier.. Sounds very tough.. 3 elements weak to..
Scene.. ??.. !!.. Eeugh. .. Ciello.. Gale? Oh? Ooh....
Fight time.. His form- Wait- that's different.. Yep. Abaddon in the thumbnail.
Remix of this song.. Sounds cool.
Right.. He has gone to that deep end & done the opposite..
2nd Phase.. Swallow- Oh. Change his weakness.. Hmm.. (Game over.. Oh boy..)
Nice. He spits out.. ??!! Dang he hits hard like truck. Indeed no joke & is really brutal.
&!! Down. Argilla is OK there. Ew tho. Great level up Ciello.

Yeah.. That boss.. Right about it he has to Bear as long as he lived..
Karma... (I see Roland..)
Document? ... Hmm.... 🤔 Asura Project?..
Angel.. Yep..
Sera.. So that's what happened in the Beginning..
I agree to feel uneasy..

Insanely dumb but it's fine to let yourself know if U forgotten this..
Talk with the Member.. Ooh. Nice. Another Karma Ring. Good.
Phew! Almost missed that of BigKlingy.. (Indeed a Jerkish thing..)
Now Till Then.. (Serph.. Heat.. Oh Sera..)
2:11
And you do not deserve the title of SMT Team Rocket. The anime's Rocket actually care about each other
3:08
Time for Cielo's time in the spotlight!
3:24
Well guess I can do this!
I tune Level 4, Earth of the Tribhvana with the Level 10 Dark Tuner, Fallen Corpses!
Devourer from the depths, betray your comrades and obtain even greater power!
I Dark Synchro Summon, Level -6,
Abaddon!
6:48
I'll take notes as one of my ideas for a P6 boss had gimmick of eating the party. Fairy tale character that did so
14:39
Yeah let's just ignore how scared Harley was out of his mind, how the death of Jinana affected Argilla or how Lupa was only able to have his wish answered in death. Not to mention how the a.is only did this because they were ordered to, yeah no I really wouldn't say it worked
18:20
Even the cat recognized how brutal that was
18:41
Serph settles with a self sacrifice
22:30
Considering Cielo's words to Earth, that must hurt even more
2:11 More than the heroes, at times.
Exactly. Cielo is amazing both in gameplay and story.
@@stfilo1948I consider Makoto and Yukari to be “canon” too. But not my canon. At least, not to the extent I see Makoto and Aigis or even Elizabeth.
I'm not watching it, in case I stream it later.
Havent caught up completely on the run but its worth knowing how buffs and debuffs have been nerfed.
Obviously the limit is reduced to +-3 but heres how much each (de) buff helps compared to the previous stage:
+-1 = 20%
+-2 = 10%
+-3 = 5%
This means going to +-3 is not much of a benefit compared to +-2 and it dodges boss countermeasures that happen when its at -3 or youre at +3.
Only go to +-3 if the boss has no dekunda/dekaja but DOES have buffs or debuffs as going to +-2 is still fine but +-1 isnt
@@Rengor1997 Yeah the first stack is 1.2×, second is 1.3, then 1.35. Or I guess for debuffs it's 0.8, 0.7 and 0.65.
31:48 Unless you plan on breeding people for food like cattle which is a disturbing thought.
frankly living knowing what you did i think is far more of a punishment then death; some could see as killing him as an "easy" way out
Agreed.
In a lot of cases, I agree.
20:05 MMM yummy data, I've now permanently ruined such a dramatic scene.
21:44 I'm a demon too but a gun BANG
23:35 it is very funny that they went this way and still got him to be the real protagonist.
31:30 How do we take Fred places if he's not infected? hmmm, how does he stay in the overworld? why does the sun not work through the domes? so many questions
35:40 bar accidentally going back there you'd surely never find that.
23:55 Had a feeling, and that's great. And yeah, I notice the field hunt thing next part.
4:56 from this perspective, abbadon looks somewhat like a toad. I always saw it as just a mouth
I was already spoiled on serph leaving the party but i did NOT expect it to happen by heat killing him and serph then setting of an endtime event.
34:14 99% of dds2 players stop right before they get the karma rings
4:56 I think it's supposed to be, like, a locust, but it does look more like a toad.
2:08 What the f---! Somehow, they made him worse than the other two!
5:57 He's saying it wrong.
6:28 Mariko really was Abaddon with makeup!
7:54 "You're a superior psycho!"
10:39 I think letting him live is a mistake, but maybe Cielo will prove me wrong.
11:54 I am amazed by the SMT writers always doing their research!
14:24 Angel somehow manages to torture AIs.
18:17 The Cat is basically, "This is getting good!"
19:30 The counterpart to British Tiki!
27:58
31:03 Technically two.
32:39 I'd like to think that the novel is called Quantum Devil Saga.
33:05 Or maybe she'll join him.
35:18 So that's why the took it off a Karma Soldier they killed.
23:37 Our Hero is dead? I guess… no wait, “And now for someone completely different.”
2:08 The real twist is the Cu Sith guy wasn't the worst one!
19:30 They REALLY wanted to get their money's worth with Yuri.
32:39 Yeah that works.
@@TheJaredPunch Thank you.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
@3:03
In all seriousness, such a great character moment for both Cielo and Gale
Also, Serph is dead. Not often a JRPG kills off its main character mid-way through
I didn't know this was a meme.
Also... FE4 Moment I guess.
6:50. Again with the Cielo slander. When will it end? #CieloIsGood
13:10 Backups huh?
Also I know you said this would get wild but I was not expecting "The sun downloads the earth"
2:12:…..and I thought you were the straight man among them. But your just as twisted ugh
3:09:”You done goofed now sucka!”
3:11 one of the best remixes here folks! I always hear it when thinking of remixes.
17:59 This is what defines DDS2 as a whole.
3:11 "Hunting: Betrayal". The only downside is it's played for just about every superboss.
@@BigKlingy I think It's perfect for every story boss, but yeah, not much for superbosses. Epic battle fits them more as there are no personal stakes in them.
Hold on ...... The Cat has Silver eyes ?
Hmmm ....... I feel like I know a character with those Same color eyes in this game...
Angel, have you been reading Francis Fukuyama? You know that's bad for your health. (You'll have to excuse the very obscure historian inside joke.)
In other news the minecraft movie trailer came out and oh boy it's bad
That one picture makes me want to do the Scorpion Hara Kiri…
I guess for the Sonic movies to be good, something had to be sacrificed on the altar.
