- For all the 4wd guys I finally Gotta 4x4 on the channel! I went to pick this truck up to do some work on but ended up bringing it home for myself instead!

Summit has a powermaster high torque mini starter for under 150$ it’s a 9100 I’m done using stick starters they to damn heavy for this wore out old dude
Yeah I think that's what the one we got for the blazer is but you can also get a starter for a 4.3 and they're alot smaller than the old big heavy starters
The vortec 5.7s have a small mini starter
Makes me miss my 92 z71 single cab step side I had nbs gmc rims off a 2008 and I switched the grille over to a gmc grille with led pods cut into the grill as fogs and used them with my led headlights and it was like I was driving with the sun on back roads

Hey, I haven't forgotten about you and your 400, I looked where I thought those pistons were but they weren't there. I'll keep looking and will let you know if I find them. There's a couple more places to look when I get a chance. If you find something you're not going to hurt my feelings if you don't want to wait.
Those heads from the new truck on that 400 would be a fun runner. Flat tops might be to much compression with it though? If you do end up doing that, make sure to drill the steam holes in the heads or you'll run into problems. But you probably already knew that?
Sounds good bud I'm still looking at the moment so just let me know if you have any luck. On the steem holes yeah I've drilled a couple sets and let machine shop do one set since they were doing springs at the time too
Put a starter brace on it it will help saport the starter

Lol. You and I have the same definition of a "clean truck". Bought my 90 Cheyenne and it was 3 different colors. $60 of eBay single stage and now it's a really clean truck!

Bro sometimes I cringe at some of the stuff you do but it's only because I'm older now and have forgotten how many times I did exactly what your doing meaning doing shit two or Three times because I didn't have the money to do any damn thing right the first time hell I still don't it's even worse now lol but it's how I learned well everything I know by doing what your doing keep plugging away at shit but I'll tell you what anyone has a question about a truck or a car especially a Chevy they always come to me and ask what do I do about this or that and I'm not even a mechanic by trade I'm a plumber but I'm always tinkering and people see me working on something and see the motor hanging on the hoist then before long see me driving down the road in it they know it wasn't majic that made it happen and as a ride if it's a Chevy it runs good

Lol yeah ill make sure it's the right way once I put gaskets n stuff on it
You can buy a kit online that comes with a spacer plate that goes between the block and transmission that has holes for an early(late 50s- mid 60s) 3 bolt style starter. Johnathan W has a video on here about using one of those kits on a block with destroyed starter bolt holes, if you can't bolt a starter on this truck normally it is a good back up option to save this engine if you can't figure anything else out.

I ran one on my c10 for a long time, danchuk makes it I had to run a 55 car starter a 55 truck starter wouldn’t work for some reason lol
