Fashion a float for a water bath in a high sided food safe container. Seperate out the cloves. Denude each clove. Place each clove in a seperate holding position in the water bath. Place some nutrient solution in the water. Cover the top of the container. When plant tall enough, set up a system to support the green plant parts, because she's a top heavy plant.
Any updates? I'm very interested in cloning and naturally growing, from baby bulbs/seeds. The seeds will take 2 seasons to fully mature and harvest ready in normal soil, I'm curious how much faster it will be if grown in hydroponics.
I just winged it cut a part of with care so I just get the one I wanted then I filled a jar with rocks after I cleaned them then put the garlic in a little dirt on top then all water under that its about 2 or 3 feet tall it's in my window behind my tv with the certain open a little for the plant and its doing great I don't know why I'm literally just winging it
One thing I do when growing beets hydroponically is I put the seed in a yogurt cup w/multiple holes in the bottom . This allows the vegetable to sit in dry soil while the roots are growing underneath into the hydroponic solution.

You can make your own root toner with thing from your kitchen. If you don't go straight to dirt and do glass jar just the bottom in water and change water every 2 days after the water has set for 24hrs(chlorine depletion) look up root toner. ruclips.net/video/zzhTv5bVS0M/видео.html powdered toner can be had at your big box store that has an outdoor nursery.

I'll give you a quick tip- ahead of time... When growing veggies from scraps, you HAVE to take off the outer layers as the center begins to grow. Otherwise, (as I'm guessing this video is now 11 months old- someone MUST have already told you...) If NOT, I'm telling you- they will ONLY rot, cause fungus/bacteria, etc. And in a set up where you'd possibly put other veggies/plants & herbs, I'm guessing you dont/wouldn't want that stuff (bacteria/ fungus) to be FREELY, "cloning" all over your setup- bc it IS, PLASTIC & PORUS! * Wipe down your ENCLOSE setup, whenever switching veggies, plants or herbs! You'll save yourself a LOT of wasted time- headache trying to figure out what went wrong, etc etc. Just a hint- IF no one has told you yet. I KNOW that there'll be MANY, who disagree with me- BUT, I have done the "apple cider vinegar- 'with the mother'/without 'the mother'/distilled vinegar, etc- STILL ended up with a few lingering bacterias/fungus. The last 5 yrs with using bleach/clorox- I've NOW, NEVER had a single issue with ANY bacteria/fungus growing or colonizing. EZ Clone / Hydroponic Setup Cleaning: You'll need: - 1/2 cup of bleach/clorox - 2 - 2 & 1/2 gallons of water, INSTRUCTIONS: - remove ALL pucks & tossed into the bucket/container you put your cleaning solution in- while you clean the box/setup - once wiped down, let it set for 5 mins. so the bleach/clorox can properly kill everything off of it - go ahead and use a hose or bring it into your bath/shower & rinse it ALL OFF! * RINSE WELL. Allow to fully dry before you plant anything in it! I hope this helps someone- so you don't end up losing a WHOLE BIN FULL- of random, great hybrid varieties- that are NOT CHEAP- by any means, now that the "COVID Program" has begun! So, you start with garlic cloves, place them in a water based growth media, until it starts growing roots and leaves. You then replant these into buckets to grow some more, however I never see the new garlic cloves! Basically, all I see in this video is you growing garlic roots and leaves! There is no active reproduction/new growth of any kind!!! 🤨👎

I'm pretty certain that you do not need to root them first and then separate. You can separate and then plant them each individually.
That is how he did it. And he said that you don't need it but he likes it because the results are faster.

Were they put into clay pellets? Just the root touching?
What is the temperature of the environment and how much light do the bulbs need?
0-10 oC (celcius) for 8 weeks, and then 14-16 hours stong light
Idk if anyone ever told you but the best cloning gel is aloe gel
