Leonardo is literally an artist way ahead of his time. He proudly made a painting so long ago and to this very day there are still some mysteries surrounding it.
There's a lot of painting like this. My favourite is "Carul cu boi"(Carriage with bulls) by Nicolae Grigorescu, where the eyes of the two bulls follow you through the room
Actually, the Mona Lisa is often described as having a subtle, enigmatic smile. It's not a full or obvious smile but rather a mysterious and ambiguous expression that has intrigued art enthusiasts for centuries
What you are seeing is the lady's reaction to someone she loves walking into that room at that precise time and the lady smiled. Leonardo's talent is so great that he captured this fleeting moment in time perfectly.
Leonardo was way ahead of his time, discovering not only techniques of painitng but also discovered many things about other disciplines, such as biology and engineering. Before Newton he discovered friction and was on the verge of the idea about gravity. The man was a fucking beast.
when you accidentally look at a stranger who looks back and you want to not be a creep, give a tiny smile. if you wear a mask and want others to know you are smiling, smile widely like here is Johnny
My grandma talks about her parents alot and said great granddad claimed he stole the most expensive artwork when he found great grans smile. I looked at a couple photos of them and the smile resemblance was uncanny even if it didnt have the optical illusion the painting did
There is a rock statue of lord Buddha in anuradhapura Sri lanka. When u look at the statue from one side it looks like lord Buddha is smiling and from the other side it looks like he is sad but when you look at the statue from the front (face to face), lord Buddha's face look serene.

Beautiful painting. I saw it in person at the Louvre in 2006. They won’t let you take pictures of it, the flash and the infrared lasers on the autofocus damages the painting, if they catch you snapping a pic, they will kick you out
Leonardo da Vinci is a very talented person, he made an amazing painting that we in hundred years later still don't fully understand that. Respect to him
Zack: why is the Mona Lisa always smiling ? Zack: well u just need to stand at a different anger Us: totally still didn’t know why is the Mona Lisa still smiling
Fun Fact: Back in the 19th century it was something incredible to have colours and brushes. but now people can easily pain the mona lisa. but you might say Why is it still valuable now? Thats because its really old and holds a history plus its the real one

Did you know that mona lisa is actually men?(real information its just a guy as a women)
Fun fact: Mona Lisa is said to be watching you wherever you walk around the room. So Leonardo Divinchi is insane at that😂

Leonardo is like an artist living in 2028. That's actually so smart, I wouldn't have the audacity/confidence/intelligence to do that.

I read that they had her favorite flowers around while she was posing and were playing the violin so she can pose calmly
