I don't like naming the award after new-age players. I think they should all be named after the OGs. Bill Russel should've been the defensive player of the year and Kareem should've been MVP.
It’s been almost 20 years since we last saw MJ play and even at 38 years old and retired from professional basketball for 3 years MJ came back and was still one of the best players and single-handedly brought a terrible wizards team to the finals before being injured. MJ was and always will be the most dominant player in league history for one reason alone, his drive to win is much greater than the stat chasers like Lebron. MJ was willing to change the way he played where he got the ball less and scored less if it meant the team would win. Lebron doesn’t do that, Kareem didn’t do that, Kobe was infamous for not doing that. There will always be one GOAT, MJ.
So Jokic was given 2 regular MVP trophies, special 75th anniversary MVP trophy and MJ MVP trophy. SO 4 MVPs in 2 years. the GOAT!!! ))))
