Thank you very much. I’ve seen your video yesterday and made it today. I chose a bit to thick steel , 1cm, but it is strong. Tomorrow I’ll buy 0,5 cm and make some more. You are absolutely right, this clamps cost a fortune. Mine costed me around 2€ and with 0,5 steel it will cost me 1€. Had a bit problem with welding the screws but I think I need a thiner stick next time. Thank you for sharing.
What type of welder? I think seen it said tig but I am not familiar with welding. Is this hard to learn to use? Compared to other types of welding would this type be considered easier or is that the wrong description? Home handmade occasional use. Suggestions appreciated
Excelente!
Nice job man, I'll try to do one of these too, since I have some flat bars here, Mine is 2'' x 3/8'' I think it will be a little too heavy... but that's ok
Beats paying silly money for them! Sadly this comes too late for me(D'oh!) but then again I have had mine for years. Top job mate...(Think you're colour choice was inspired by halloween!🎃🎃🎃)👍
good question, it doesn't because the force is being pushed against the full with of the steel..if i were to make the clamp in the opposing elevation the flat bar would bend..on edge strong..on flat weak :)
Hi john, this cost me about £3 to make..I have bought equivalent clamps for about £40..however that doesn't factor in the equipment I used to make it. Hope this is helpful to you. 👍
@@MakeItMetal it is indeed, I have enough equipment to make them, just bought my DC welder a few days ago, just have to source the scrap metal to get to it. the main scrap dealers in Brisbane, Queensland don't sell scrap to the public for some reason, so I'll have to go to welding places to see if they'll sell any of theirs. fingers crossed. everything is expensive here.
@@John-gm8ty I can't agree more...I was out in Perth and found everything almost double the cost to what it was back in the UK. Your best best is as you said..get to the fab shops and offer to buy their off cuts etc..normally you'll get a decent fella who will let you have it for beer money lol.
Thank you, that's the first f clamp video that doesn't need all the tools in the world
I try to use basic tools in my videos. Glad you liked it
I watched your video last night and today I made my first clamp, thank you
Glad I could help!
This was a straightforward & helpful video, thank you...& thank you for the last bit 😂

Mig welding process used in this build...it's easy to learn and can be quite cheap for the home set up 👍
@@MakeItMetal thank you for your reply. I will invest as soon as possible.

Genial parcero quedo perfecta
Excelente proyecto. Será tan amable de pasar las medidas de los sargentos?? Muchas gracias y saludos desde Argentina
Thank you so much. This is more simpler way to make a very durable clamp.
BTW what is the size of the flat bar?
Thank you . i used 40mm x 8mm flat bar in this project
and what are you using to clamp the custom hand made clamp again?
The clamp i used cost £30, the clamp i made cost much less and YT have paid for the views lol. I get your point though Bob 👍
@@MakeItMetal they simply do not work without a spring, if you can manage to add a spring to them yes. i am a cabinet maker.

40mm x 8mm. 👍

Go for it Rodney..I just paid out £360 for a few of them..made this one for less than a fiver!
@@MakeItMetal yes sir i seen some o.k. Amazon that weren't to expensive, but can be made a lot cheaper from scrap stuff lol
Great content bro i like it
Делал такую струбцину, но из полосы 4*25, гнется. Не хватает жесткости. Так что учтите ) Если не сильно зажимать, пользоваться можно.
Отличный момент .. хотя этот работал нормально. Спасибо за ваш комментарий
Buen aporte, a migo. Haré una igual.
Fabrication is very good, thank you for sharing!
Cuáles son las medidas de sargento
Whoa... I want «welding apparatus» like that!
Using clamps to make clamps so you can clamp more clamps to make more clamps.

Muito bom parabéns. A minha dúvida foi no parafuso de aperto como fazer para que ele fique fixo e não gire.
@@getuliocomiotto1230 -> o parafuso tem que girar, se não girar, não aperta nem desaperta

How does the steel not bend?

Hi I wanted to know the thickness of the F clamp frame
all made with 40 x 8 mm flat bar :)
Clamps in my area are pretty expensive. I can make a few of these with my powerarc welder and a bit of free elbow grease.
go for it Sebastian..they cost a fortune here too
My area too... they're very expressive..
Me too, they cost as much as a scaffolding leveling jacks if not more expensive smh
Good ones are hard to find, here - and then they are expensive!
Грамотно 👍👍👍

Formidable
I never even thought about making my own tools with my powertig welder.
sometimes it's the only way to get the tools you need at an affordable price :)
Also using tools you've made yourself just feels better too.
Might have to take this one from you to use at a later date
go for it. thanks for your support :)
