Hello Cassie, i'm a retiree just to see the changes in that area. I graduated in Brunswick Georgia back in 1970, living inside Glynco Naval Air Station, when my dad was stationed there. I loved living there, because i love seafood, fishing and going to the beach. Its true about the bugs around that area, just don't open your mouth when playing outdoor. Thanks for the informative content in your channel. Stay safe and God bless
Traffic-- The more the north end of the island is developed, the worse the traffic on the main drag from north to south. Traffic on Frederica Rd. can be bumper to bumper for miles at some times. New laws regarding golf carts has helped a bit. New homes are being built from South Harrington on northward. For years there was talk of an additional causeway connecting to the mainland near Christ Church, but the cost is prohibitive.
I saw your video about the Pros and Cons living on Saint Simon’s Island …..you never mentioned what a scam is when you rent a place to live on the Island. I lived in 5 different apartments in 11 years and was never so glad to move out of that little Paradise that has more against it than for it. People who can afford to live there is is a Paradise but the average renter unless they can afford all the promises given to get you to rent a place that they forget…..you get places that always have something wrong with them. I lived in two places and could not even use the stove unless I bought a new one then did not get my Deposit back. Another place the Landlord decided she did not want me living in her apartment and did everything she could to drive me out. That was for a year + I stayed for that year but I never unpacked everything. I did not realize how illegal these Landlords were til I moved to Saint Simons Island. So I advise who ever wants to rent to be very careful in choosing where you live. I am an older Resident and we are just not welcome but we do have the money for rent which is much too high for what we get. I loved living there otherwise ……the People I met and the Weather… the scenery was breathtaking until somebody decided to tear it all down to build these huff and puff Apartments that have nothing but a slab of concrete between the ground floor and sand. (Then sell or rent them for every pennythe owner can get from them I lived in Magnolia Manor 4 years and the rent. got so high I had to move….into other these cheaply built places that are nothing but a scam. I seriously advise anyone wanting to move into a Tourist Area to investigate thoroughly every thing it has to offer before decisions are made. Stating the Pros and Cons is a very good idea. Then there is the cost if they have to leave the Island for as long as two weeks during Hurricane Season. Who pays for those expenses? And decent places are hard to find on short notice…..I stayed in a Hotel in Brunswick for several days because the Causeway was closed + then water supply was closed because the sewers backed up. Those are just details no one mentions that can make a person think if it is worth going broke to live in Paradise. Wa

Wa
Magnolia Manor is a retirement home and should not be compared to other places for rent. Just sayin’.
Do the cons first to end on a high note
