@@horohorosrin What do you mean? Kikyo's soul was damaged badly when she thought she was betrayed, and she really didn't do much bad, she did try to kill Inuyasha but who hasn't. Other than that she would help the villagers at every town she came across, children love her ect. But really she didn't do any actual bad in the show, handing over the jewel to Naraku was part of the plan to purify him and rid the world of him and the jewel. Don't use the movies to judge her either, when they scripted the movies they took the initial character profile's for the characters, which didn't include any character development that happened after the characters where introduced, so they always portrait her as she was right after being resurrected, and from the beginning Kikyo was always changing throughout the show to reflect the process of healing the wounds of the past and such.
Kikyo is that one character whose sacrifice makes you feel a little bit hollow from inside. At 1st place didn't like her much but with the age and maturity you can feel her pain, grief and loss. Inuyahsa will always be one of the best character portrayal anime of all times.
Totally agree. I am watching the full serie right now, almost 20 years later. Kikyo is the most complex character. They did an amazing job portraying her.
Even though her grave was desecrated and she suffered a lot when she was brought back to life, I think it was the best thing that could’ve happened to her soul. Learning the truth about how she died and that Inuyasha wasn’t the one who betrayed her and finding some moments where she felt happy whenever she was by Inuyasha. Even though Naraku eventually killed her again, she died in the arms of the man she loved and was finally able to achieve peace. Not a bad way to go out if you ask me
Yes! she has amazing resolve and shows time and time again that she is not dark at all and nearly retains alot of her original power if not a little chipped and tarnished. but also enhanced!
Kikyou has got a devastating backstory. She was one of those characters who got the most hate, despite being written so well. Tbh, i think she was created just to make Kagome's story look a little sad. Kikyou literally died two times and her final moments in the hands of her lover brought tears to my eyes
Not really. Not everything is about KAgome. Kikyo was just as important from the very beginning of the story. Hell, even more so, I would argue. I love Kagome, but I cannot stand how the fans hate on Kikyo and make everything about Kagome. Even when from the VERY BEGINNING. From the first episode, we knew that they cannot have a future together. They have told this so many times, even when Kikyo tried to live a quit life in a little village. The truth is, Inuyasha was too mature for the little girls who only cared about the shipping bs.
All Kikyo wanted was a life with Inuyahsa. Before she died the first time she admitted that she could never be an ‘ordinary’ woman because she was keeper of the scared jewel. Her thoughts and actions had to be pure and was in constant battles with demons. She wanted to make Inuyasha human to purify the jewel eternally and making it vanish from the world. When she can back from the dead and was thought to be working with Naraku, she was really trying to make the jewel whole and purify it and Naraku making them both vanish from this world. But of course her plans were never completed and she told Kagome the rest was up to her. It was her final moments with Inuyasha when she knew she was doomed once again. Only this time she will die in his arms. (She wanted this ending only with both of them aged humans leaving from this world together.) It’s tragic she didn’t get the ending she really wanted but her soul will remain on via Kagome.
Es esto una de las razones por qué este anime es parte de mi, su soundtrack es literalmente arte, no solo se escucha "bien" ,encaja perfectamente con cada situación, e incluso es como si me hicieran sentir cada situación como si fuese propia. There's something I just noticed now. In episode 124 When Naraku kills Kikyo the second time, the way he wounds her was the same as the first time, over her right shoulder. It's a poetic kind of parody that happens 124 episodes apart from each other. It's an interesting detail, and I've never seen anyone else bring it up. After Naraku wounds her in 124, when she's on the edge of the cliff, she glances briefly at the wound in a knowing way. It's so subtle I only noticed it now, all these years later.
The wound infliction was also kinda sexual which implies naraku's (onigumou's) desire for her. Onigumo had lustful designs on kikyo ( like a psychopath) and wanted to "taint" her. We all know what that means....🤢.
@@PyanY I didn't get that at all. That also wouldn't have made sense though, the whole reason he was able to hurt her was because Onigumo was separated from him. So he wouldn't have felt any of Onigumo's desires at that point. Were you watching one of the dubbed versions? Maybe the actor put an extra spin on it? In the Japanese version, there wasn't anything the least bit sexual in that exchange. Naraku never exhibited any real desire for her. Onigumo wanted her, but upon becoming Naraku, that desire was lost, Onigumo's remnants were perceived as a hindrance, and an obstacle that prevented him from getting rid of her. But I'm interested to know why you think what you said. Maybe I missed something. If my original comment shows us anything, it's that there cartainly are some extra layers of meaning in this story.
Star Wars: Rogue One was the same way, inverted. Krennic was shot in the shoulder by Lyra Erso, defending her husband Galen. Fifteen years later, he is shot in the other shoulder by Cassian, defending their daughter Jyn. AND, in the novelization, Jyn's last words to Cassian - who had rescued her time and again, even through seeming betrayal - are, "I'm glad you came."
To those of you here, I’m sure this isn’t a spoiler. I could not stand Kikyo, but this show... this show eventually made me love her. It helped me get to know her and her suffering. When she died, it was one of the saddest anime deaths I have ever experienced 💯
When I started watchin Inuyasha, I thought Kagome was better than Kikyo and Kikyo was the bad guy. But when I think about it, Kikyo's my idol. She did good intentions when she was alive and got killed by Naraku phisichlly and verbally. I like Kikyo as of today, 'cause she's a strong woman yet she got killed 2 times as a living corpes.
What’s interesting about Kikyo after her death is with how worn, tragic, and tormented her soul was. She could have very well become akin to a powerful vengeful spirit or demon of her own caliber, or even just a wandering lost soul where her hatred could manifest. Priestess Yao (Corrupted Monk) from Sekiro is one kind of example of what I’m talking about in that kind of worst case scenario, where those negative emotions leave nothing but a aggressive and combat driven shadow of her former self. Plus she kinda reminds me of Kikyo in some ways, even down to the notes of the flutes and other instruments in Yao’s own OST. But, Kikyo’s final death and final realization of Inuyasha not being the one to betray her while resting in his arms may have been the one thing that saved her soul from such a fate and allowed her to find peace. And as for Yao, she and her centipede got forcefully evicted from life by a shinobi named Sekiro. All for some dragon tears.

lolshit found another sample someone used

Kikyo was the character who suffered the most... onigumo was right. If she couldn’t be with him, she couldn’t be with no one else.
She’s not my Favorite character and I kinda dislike her but jeez her story is a sad one. Her music is the most beautiful in this anime. Can’t imagine waking up and knowing ur time has already passed.
Kudune jeoang mikir salah opo karo Barat..
I don't understand people hitting thumbs down on a goddamn OST; if you don't like it, just move the fuck on. It's not like the video is about something horrifyingly awful so I really don't get it.
