  • Waking up early, and planting cassava with Jon's parents, Luvu and Judy, alongside Eliki and Seva - Jon's sons.
We kicked off our day by heading to the farm, where we set up a tarpaulin shed and made a fire to make tea.
While Luvu and Judy expertly cut the cassava stems, the grandkids filled the air with laughter, exploring and playing around the farm. Simultaneously, Jon and the boys took charge of rotovating the field, preparing the soil for the cassava planting.
Amidst the activities, Luvu, Jon's dad, shared heartfelt moments as he expressed how much he loves engaging in these activities. He spoke about the joy of spending time with his son and grandsons, making the day even more special.
The vlog captures a blend of laughter, family bonding, hard work, and collective effort as we worked together on the farm. It was a day filled with love, sweat, and the joy of being surrounded by family.- Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to our channel for more heartwarming family adventures!

when i went to boarding school at Marist Brothers High at Suva, i was given a list of what to bring with me ...a mosquito net, pillows and blankets and a cane knife.
Yes, a cane knife..because after school we were all required to go to the plantation behind the school to clear the weeds and grown our own dalo and cassava

13:05 All varieties of cassava contain hydrogen cyanide, no exceptions. Concentration of cyanide differs across the different varieties, nonetheless ALL contain cyanide. Cyanide "boils off" when cooking (boiling/baking) the cassava, hence no problem eating it after it's cooked properly.
