Very helpful I got a snowcone maker for christmas and I was shocked with how much the syrup costs and this will definitely save me a pretty penny thank you!
thanks for this recipe I just bought a snow cone machine for my wife she wanted one I got the premade syrup but I dnt think she will like the flavors but this is going to fix that ty again
Awww thanks for sharing this. I was wondering if we could make it like this. I just spent $40 on 2 jugs of syrup for my daughter’s snow cone machine she got for her bday… You and Ed are couple goals. He reminds me of my fiancé
Wow my friend from Florida visited us in Virginia and wanted a snow cone but I couldn’t think of a place here that has them in the winter. I could have made one in no time.
thank you so much my daughters birthday is coming up and she wanted a snow cone machine for her and friends to have at her birthday. so thank you so so much for sharing
Neat! The sugar water melted down is known better as a 2:1 simple syrup, but Ive never seen it done in an instant pot. You can do this in a normal pot as well, if you don’t have an instant pot. But this definitely works better for making it without having to constantly pay attention to it! And sugar water being hot is an understatement, sugar burns are far worse than even oil burns. Using kool aid packets is absolutely genius for easy flavoring though! I always make it with fresh ingredients, so that’s kinda on me ngl. Lmao, I’ve been doing it the hard way for certain syrups, huh? Especially blue raspberry syrups, I mean truly I am absolutely going to have to try this. I do recommend trying to brown a simple syrup in a pot with sliced lemons though. It’s quite good.
Great video ! I don’t have an insta pot . I imagine I can make the sugar water on the stove or micro wave. I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed watching you and your husband. Reminds me of me and my husband. ❤️
I make at least four flavors in less than 15 minutes. Puta a pan on the stove put in the water and sugar, boil for two minutes, add the Kool-Aid, let cool, and pour into your squeeze bottles.
I am getting ready to create a couple videos for my channel with a counter top ice maker, and the second video about a ice shaver. Going to be testing these for use to take camping for ice and a quick treat. In the video about the ice shaver, I would like to implement this syrup making technique in that video, but was wondering if a person decided to make a double or triple batch of the syrup... Would the time (1 minute) in the pressure cooker be the same if it were 2 cups of sugar/1 cup water and also if you wanted to use 6 cups suger/3 cups water, or would I have to double or triple the time in the pressure cooker based on how much syrup I wanted to make?. Thanks for the help, - and by the way - you two look like you have a great life together and that is truly refreshing for sure. -- Subscribed because you two are great together ;).
@@ThisOldGal That would be fine, and I could do that also, but I guess I will just have to experiment to see if I need to add extra time to the pressure cooking if I double or triple the recipe. Does your original differ from this one?, and does it also show if I would need to add extra time for doubling or tripling the recipe?... And if this is not the original that you mention, could you add a link here for me to see that? I would also be happy to mention your channel and place a link for people to see how you do it as well.
@@ThisOldGal Interesting... I just did some more research and found that every recipe I found for snow cone syrup is 1 to 1 - 1 cup sugar 1 cup water or 2 cups sugar 2 cups water, and pressure cook for 1 minute on high, let stand for 10 minutes (as you suggest) and release pressure. And it is always 1 minute no matter how much sugar and water used. I was wondering if I could do this with much less sugar, and found that the recipe's I found state less sugar, but I will try it both ways and see which would work best. Still though I will mention your channel as my inspiration and direct viewers to see your recipe as well, but I do thank you for your thoughts.
That is impressive. I’m going to try this method. Mahalo sister. Put some vanilla ice cream down below and top it with some condense milk then you have your local Hawaiian shaved ice.
I dig this idea, I started a ice cream business a year ago and sometimes the place I get my syrup from is sold out, although I do ok even paying 30$ for 4 L of syrup, but it would be nice trying small batches of new flavors. Could I just do my flavors on the stove instead of the instant pot? Would there be much of a difference?
Thank you for the recipe. I am a bit confused though about your comments. At 2:57, you said to let the pressure release for 10 minutes. Then at 4:06, you "quick released" the pressure. Did you mean to let it sit for 10 minutes after cooking so that it slowly releases the pressure itself? Then manually use the knob to release it again? Also, what are the Kool Aid packet sizes?
Do you have a link to the shaved ice molds that you used in this video? I can't seem to find them on Ebay. Is there a particular name or brand for them? Thanks.
Those look very good, the shaved ice looks very thin and not chunky. What kind of shaved ice machine do you have? I bought one on Amazon and it just makes crushed ice and too crunch and doesn’t absorb the flavors well it all sinks to the bottom.. 😅
My future husband better be as sweet as ur husband cuz that goofy moment when choosing the flavor made me giggle and so happy for u

Yes, let it sit and then manually release. The standard Kool Aid. I believe I linked to them.
Add some condensed milk to it and its the best i swear enjoy
