55yr old English woman. why do I find these ‘trying British’ videos so addictive 😂 Oh, because our sweets and chocolate are the best and I am a life long lover of many 😊
Over the years I have heard numerous Americans stating that UK sweets and particularly chocolate are much better than US sweets. Any idea why this is and why don't US manufacturers change their recipes?
@@Mrhullsie2 UK chocolate is better because has to have at least 20% cocoa a compared to 10% in US and because US put their milk though controlled lipolysis, in order to stop bars melting in hot climates, which gives chocolate a slight sour taste.
if you like the UK white choc you have to have to have to try a Milky Bar. The milkybar kid is strong and tough,Only the best is good enough, Creamy milk a whiter bar,The good taste that's in milkybar.
Caramac if you can get it too, though you may have to settle for the Gold biscuit bar, which is surrounded by something similar to both Milky Bar and Caramac chocolate.

It's a higher quality of milk chocolate but Cadbury have a formula that really works, it's loved globally. I watch a lot of reaction videos from Asia, Africa, America, Russia and Middle East. They all love Cadbury despite it having a lower cocoa content.
Cara’s face was hilarious with the sour sweets and her little laugh burst after her boost joke made us chuckle. The concentration on Jeremy’s face opening that rum bar was intense!
Can't really go wrong with Cadburys chocolate...though other countries frown upon it because of the low cocoa content. If you havnt already, both of you should try Cadburys drinking chocolate....a lovely hot drink Must say Hersheys are a poor substitute for Cadburys 😁
Agree the cocoa content is a bit low but they've definitely hit a winning formula regardless. The new DarkMilk tastes more like Cadbury Dairy Milk did in the early 1980's, probably when they dropped cocoa and cocoa butter content to add more sugar and vegetable oils so as to increase profits by lowering costs.
I used to only get Cadburys hot chocolate. But it kept going off. I had white curdly bit's in my drink. After only being open a week or two. I got some raw organic cocoa powder form Holland and Barrett over the first lockdown. Mainly for health benefits. It is really nice I got 1kg of it so still getting through it and not gone off. It's also unsweetened so you add sugar to it if you want to. Some hot chocolate can be too sweet and chalky tasting for me.
Great taste test! Boost is my favourite. Some others you might like to try include: Mint Aero, Walnut Whip, Sherbet Fountain, Flying Saucers, Revels, Maltesers & Fruit & Nut. (if you haven't tried them already - I haven't seen all your videos!)
@@davidpeters2905 - Yes I do, sadly only 1 on the top these days. Do you remember when they had a caramel one? It wasn't around for that long (& it was quite a few years ago) so perhaps it was a trial that wasn't well-received, though I loved it!

I agree! I couldn’t wait to try Hershey’s Kisses, I couldn’t finish one and none of my family liked them either. They were like eating a wax candle and yes, had that horrid after taste. I learnt a few years ago how American chocolate is different from ours and its process is quite different. Chocolate is made to suit each countries palate . 😀
I worked on an American air base in Harrogate North Yorkshire and tried the Hershey bar 😂 you described it perfectly 😂 it’s so sour for some reason like sour gone off milk 🤮 it’s so nasty 😂
My friends and I visited New York years ago. I wanted to get a king size nutrageous from the Hershey store there. As we go near it, the smell of vomit is getting stronger and stronger. My friends couldn’t cope in the store. I held my breath as long as it took to grab 2 bars and pay
The curlywurly was from the 70's and was a favourite. The chomp was an 80's version from cadbury's and was to replace the curlywurly but fans were devided so they ended up selling both.
I remember from the 70's Old Jamaica was a premium chocolate bar. Gold foil and a picture of a pirate on the label. I guess it probably doesn't taste the same now. Another favourite of mine was Country Style, which had biscuits and raisins 😋
You two ate my two all time favourites there, Wispa Gold and Boost. Both are so extremely sweet and creamy with a little caramel layer (Wispa Gold’s caramel is soft and Boost’s is chewy). The chunks in Boost are biscuit not pretzel so add even more sweetness. I used to like the rum and raisin Bournville but as I’ve got older it seems stronger and not very nice. Not sure if they changed the recipe. Props to you for eating all the sour and chewy sweets, not my thing at all and I think I’d pull out teeth! I’m a Cadbury chocolate devotee!!
Yep, it was old fashioned even in 1980 when I tried it as a kid. I've never understood it's popularity, it is a poor quality dark chocolate because of the vegetable oil being used to supplement the lower cocoa butter usage.
The cadbury factory is 20 miles from were i live when i was younger we would go there on a school trip and come home with a massive bag of all different cadbury chocolate its a dream lol
Bournville is named after the district in Birmingham (Englands second largest city) where the Cadbury factory is situated. From Wikipedia, 'Cadbury was established in Birmingham, England in 1824, by John Cadbury, a Quaker who sold tea, coffee and drinking chocolate. Cadbury developed the business with his brother Benjamin, followed by his sons Richard and George. George developed the Bournville estate, a model village designed to give the company's workers improved living conditions. Dairy Milk chocolate, introduced in 1905, used a higher proportion of milk within the recipe compared with rival products. By 1914, the chocolate was the company's best-selling product. Cadbury, alongside Rowntree's and Fry's, were the big three British confectionery manufacturers throughout much of the 19th and 20th centuries. Another thing I love is the different way you say words to how we in the UK say them. You say mul-tie vie-ta-mins. We say multee-vit-a-mins.
What you missed out is it is only the big two, Fry's Chocolate is owned by Cadbury, when cadbury took them over Fry's made the Crunchie Bar, Turkish Delight and Chocolate Cream, Crunchie Bar was sold under the Cadbury name whilst Turkish Delight and Chocolate cream stayed under the Fry's name. These products were made in Bristol at their Fry's Chocolate factory until it closed when production was moved to Bourneville, Birmingham. Also the Bourneville was made up by the Cadbury Brothers when it was outside Birmingham for where the factory was built as it is along side the River Bourne and Ville is French for Village according to them, hence Bourneville which is now a suburb of Birmingham.
Try some galaxy chocolate. It has higher cocoa solids than Cadbury. I don't have a favourite between them, but it's interesting to note the differences.
chomp is more of a fudge type caramel where as curly wurly is caramel covered in chocolate. you need to just try the plain cadbury bournville dark chocolate to start! its a lot better than any flavoured varieties
I am enjoying your reviews of English products Thank You. One point worth mentioning is that with chocolate and sweets you should try each item after them being in the fridge for a couple of hours, and again after being being out for a couple of hours at room temperature . Often this completely alters the taste and feeling of the sweet. Maltesers are especially different when direct from the fridge. Breaking the solid chocolate off of the outside of the biscuit with your teeth is an amazing feeling. Thanks again Androd

The curly wurly has been around longer than the chomp. But I agree they do taste similar. Think chomps are just a solid stick version of curly wurly. Nice though both one of my favourites.😋😋😋 Twirl bars are flakes with an extra layer of chocolate. I love them both.
We have loads of different flavours in the Cadbury cake bar and mini rolls, boosts are the best they have biscuit bits in it! You guys need to try a toffee crisp, double decker, Milky Way magic stars, Milky Way crispy rolls, galaxy ripple, galaxy cookie crumble

@@Swansea32 yep but it’s not like that either. US Milky Way = UK Mars which is nougat with caramel coated in chocolate. Love rum and raisin it’s my fav
Next time we'll save them for you 😆
Love rum raisin choc
The curly wurly has been around longer than the chomp. But I agree they do taste similar. Think chomps are just a solid stick version of curly wurly. Nice though both one of my favourites.😋😋😋
Twirl bars are flakes with an extra layer of chocolate. I love them both.
Try blue ribands(chocolate wafer ) I think you'd like them x
You should try galaxy chocolate in the uk you either like cadburys or galaxy i am in the galaxy camp
Hi I am in the uk I make hot chocolate from bournville melt some of the chocolate in hot milk

@08:52 glad you like the gingerbread cake bar, I was lucky enough to get to taste test it before its released on sale.
Another great video!
Put the curly wurly in the fridge for a while and it will last longer more like toffee..
Oh that sounds nice!
Sounds great! We've tried a couple of those, but will look for the others. Thanks!
its the devon cream that does the business, try thorntons special toffee, nothing comes close
We'll have to try and find thorntons!
@@TheMagicGeekdom the toffee is great, avoid the chocolates as they are a shadow of their former selves, the new owners having been cutting costs massively by replacing cocoa butter with palm oil.
The Hershey Company owns the rights to manufacture Cadbury chocolate in the US. It banned imports of British-made Cadbury chocolate in 2015
Recently discovered you guys and love it... Great seeing Americans trying our foods. If you get the opportunity, I think you'd love Aero Caramel.
We'll have to try that.
Try BOUNTY BAR AND A CRUNCHIE BAR
Whisper gold ain’t nothing like a milkyway 😂
American milkyway is like uk mars
@@Swansea32 yep but it’s not like that either. US Milky Way = UK Mars which is nougat with caramel coated in chocolate. Whispa Gold is aerated solid chocolate with a layer of soft / runny caramel topped again with solid chocolate to seal it in. UK Mars is made by Nestle which is inferior to Cadbury.
Barratt Refreshers new marketing slogan : _better than a multi-vitamin_ .
