- We had the amazing opportunity to have a cameo as a walker in the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead! We met The Walking Dead executive producer, director, and legendary make-up effects designer/creator, Greg Nicotero several years ago and have had the chance to get to know him at several events where we were performing. At one event, Greg asked us if we would like to be in an episode as a walker. As huge fans of the show, we of course accepted! Greg had the idea to use us both as the same walker in order to facilitate a special walker “gag”. Greg’s FX make-up team (under the supervision of Jake Garber) did both of our prosthetics and FX make-up simultaneously so that we would look exactly the same. The only difference was that Camille had an apparatus on her face that allowed the walker skin to be pulled off her face. So, Kennerly was the “clean” walker, and Camille was the “after/gore-y” walker. During the first half of our scene, the walker struggling with Carol is Kennerly. By the time that Carol is pulling on the walker’s face and the skin is coming off, that walker is Camille. Since it was a pivotal scene, this allowed Melissa McBride (Carol) and the crew to have multiple takes while still having the “clean” walker at the beginning of each take. We just kept switching in and out of the scene with each other! Camille then spent the rest of the filming day as a dead(er) walker lying on the ground. We were actually on set for several days before we filmed for teeth molding, wig fitting, prosthetic testing, etc. It was amazing to see different scenes being filmed, say “hi” to some of the cast whom we knew through events (Michael Cudlitz [Abraham] came to have lunch with the two of us on set), and see the inner-workings of this incredible TV show! Oh, and as a bonus, we got a feature in the “In Memoriam” segment of The Talking Dead! We were credited as “Ouch That’s My Hair Walker” (the sign on our set trailer said “Stretchy-face Walker”). Below we have some fun extra info just for all of you!
Dead Fact 1: Greg actually asked us to come back for another walker cameo in Season 7, but the filming schedule was changed and we couldn’t film due to Harp Twins touring scheduling conflicts.
Dead Fact 2: There was only one other walker actor on set that day (the one you see in the dumpster). So, we got our own trailer on location adjacent to one of the main actors on the show!
Dead Fact 3: The milky looking walker contacts made us almost completely blind while wearing them. The sun shining made it even more difficult to see and there was a “contact expert” on hand just to put eye drops in our eyes at regular intervals.
Dead Fact 4: The kind of walker we played is called a “Hero Walker” by the show. A Hero Walker is a walker role that gets the full prosthetics, wig, FX make-up, etc., and most often has extreme close-up screen time.
Dead Fact 5: Even with all of the disgusting walkers that Melissa McBride (Carol) has seen over the years, when she saw Kennerly up-close for the first take, she said: “Now that’s just gross!”

I remember first watching that episode being rather impressed with that walker, never expected a few years later being able to actually meet both versions of it! It's very cool you got that opportunity although its a shame your schedules conflicted for a second time, I would'e loved to see how they would've made you up differently!
Very nice addition to your Harp Twins Happening's channel, love hearing/reading about these things. So interesting! Look forward to more behind the scenes stuff. I've been thinking about hitting Walker Stalker Con next year, hearing this pushes me more in that direction!
BTW, you two should have stills of your walker to sell at your booth. You have tons of gorgeous ones, a few "uglified" ones would be awesome!

What's your favourite type of zombie? Is it the undead or the infected? If infected then do yous prefer infected with a virus or infected by spores?
Edit: I think walkers are infected, at the end of the first series the sheriff learns about everyone being infected but the source is not clear. Although there is an element of being undead, you need to die to become a walker, so my money is on infected through spores. 🤗

I've seen the behind the scenes from fx, how clothes are selected and put through the aged, torn, soiled, look was quite interesting, walker training, casting and other cool stuff and how everyone has an awesome time on the set!
I was only subbed at your other channel and was not aware of this channel as it was recommended for me...

While it is cool that you did this, I have to admit I'm not into zombie stuff. Just seeing it everywhere on the shelves of books stores and video rental places just made me sick to look at them. People I speak to talk about how awesome they are while I just go "Meh." But it is really cool you took part of this.

We made our Hollywood film debut as the “Merry Christian Twins” in the feature film POLITICS OF LOVE as actors, soundtrack writers, and soundtrack performers (harp and vocal). POLITICS OF LOVE was directed by William Dear (Angels in the Outfield, Harry and the Hendersons). We also had roles as “The Marcelli Twins” in the dark teen comedy BLACKTINO (from the producer of Sin City, Predators, Spy Kids, and Machete), and starring Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Daryl Sabara, and Jeff Fahey. Most recently, we played 2 of the biological daughters of Vince Vaughn’s character in the DreamWorks film, DELIVERY MAN - starring Cobie Smulders, Bobby Moynihan, and Chris Pratt. We have also had roles in numerous short films and principal roles in several commercials, including a national US commercial for a TOSHIBA Tablet, national Japanese commercials for CHUPA CHUPS lollypops, and a viral ORKIN Pest Control commercial campaign playing our harps. We also had roles as “The Geminae” in the musical regional theater comedy A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM by award-winning, professional theatre company: Theatre Nebula. :) :)
