For a 'flagship' level device, it is criminal that this phone still cheaps out on the selfie cam. Is there any particular reason why Chinese brands don't use better sensors on the front, genuinely curious?
I currently have the Oppo Find X5 Pro and I love it, apart from one slight issue... During extended video recording, the phone tends to get quite hot and sometimes closes the camera app and wont let me use it until it's cooled down a bit. So, when you mentioned the improved thermals in this review that definitely peaked my interest. During your testing did you notice anything like that with this one?
I have noticed in some reviews that they mention that this is a problem in Qualcomm 8 Gen 1, but this thermal problem is solved in this Qualcomm 8 Gen 2.
@@RennieAsh That can be fixed with HD Camera, a superb app that is simply game changing for all Android devices. Not only do you have multiple choices for audio sources, but it unironically does sound better, and you can access beyond 1080p selfie recording.
I hope it gets released in the West, I really liked my Oppo Find X2 Pro. The cameras on the X6 Pro look amazing!! PS glad they're finally implementing gaming above 60fps

I'm happy that 50mm to 75mm focal lengths are gaining more and more popularity. N brands are using better sensors and filters for these portrait oriented focal lengths. 👍
I'm still using the Oppo Find X2 Pro and after three years it's still running as if it has the SD Gen 2. And Oppo supported this device significantly with timely software updates. I'm running the latest Android version in three years of using the phone and they're some of the first companies that push out the new software updates after Google launch it

@@Mohamed-ls3cv No I'm not facing battery drain problem but the Find X2 Pro didn't actually come with big battery as compared to today's flagship phones. That's the only regret but it can go through a normal day without any problems
@@kpehe100 I'm getting 8 hour and some minutes using 1080p and 60hz. My battery life is 88%. I use (and bought) Accubatery for 6 month now and so far it's pretty accurate. I play some game on it (Domination) so it's not exactly light usage.

4K on the selfie camera is easily achieved with the use of non-stock camera apps like mcpro24fps or open camera…especially mcpro is amazing as it offers 4K/30 with up to 200mbps stable video even in Dolby Vision (the same applies for Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Vigo X90pro + etc..).

However, I've heard that the phone has some cons since it's dedicated to the Chinese market, for example: I've heard that even though it supports Dolby vision HDR, this feature will not be working with some platforms including RUclips, some people also say that google assistance is not working with the Phone, these might be slight props but for me they are deal breaker as I will be using the phone mainly for content consumption. I have a chinese find x3 thats on color OS 13 right now, and it does not work with Android auto. Crashes everytime I select the phone from the screen :(
I use Oppo Find X5 Pro and the selfie camera never bothered me. Although, with the price, we should expect the phone to have a capable 4K selfie camera. A bit disappointed that X6 Pro hasn't improved the selfie camera
Oppo is one of those Chinese phones you can use anywhere in the world without a global ROM. And I think they support the Chinese version more than the international one. I'm using the Find X2 pro and I can't feel like I'm using a China ROM phone
for those who have the phone, have you managed to change the default messaging? when I change I have a pop up message for each text message I send.. and another question has anyone managed to connect a watch? Xiaomi, ticwatch, etc.
Use a gimbal if vlogging is your thing. Most of us buying this know it is a poor selfie camera and do not care. I only use my front camera for video calls, and 1080p is fine as that is always compressed by the app anyway, and I am usually not moving around.

As of now, US is limited to Vivo. And even if they are both under BBK electronics, they operate completely separate from each other. Would like to see a comparison between the Oppo Find X6 and a mid-range vlogging camera such as the Nikon Z30 for example. the heat is the issue, i dont think you will be able to use it as a vlogging cam for a long period of time
