      while I agree I don't understand the need to know BUT back then it was less favorable to be gay or lesbian. Weren't both of the Darren's gay? I Mean, it doesn't mean anything honestly and it was huge when in the 90s everyone came out. Now who cares, be kind to everyone. What your orientation is should not matter at all BUT it is sad so many folks HAD to keep it under wraps. I mean if she was a lesbian, I am sure her Presbyterian father wouldn't have approved. She might have been masking by touting her Chrisitanity to throw folks off the scent that she wasn't a good "Christian". People are just so dumb. Yeah, it shouldn't matter and it shouldn't be such "OOO were they gay??" but there you have it. We fall for this stuff.

    If she was then it was her PERSONAL business. But now they want the world to know, they want to be seen as heroic, and they want us to accept it as normal. If Morehead enjoyed lesbian sex, occasionally or exclusively, they kept it to herself which is where it should be. This leaves me to concentrate on her brilliant acting, her charming and elegant personality, and beautiful speaking voice. And she definitely was attractive and had a nice figure in her day

    No she did not. As Debbie Reynolds stated right out when a guest on TCM, every ten yrs or so, this filthy rumor comes out again. Debbie was one of Aggie’s best friends for over 30 years. She knew Aggie’s two ex-husbands too. These are lies and those peddling them should be ashamed, said Debbie, and Debbie said she was speaking out because Aggie not here to defend herself. Aggie was a dedicated Christian.

    • @MTknitter22
      @MTknitter22 2 года назад +2

      @Perfecto Rodriguez so with all due respect, her best friend of that long would know nothing but these gossip media folks do know. They did not know Aggie personally and they pass innuendo because Aggie never remarried for the rest of her life post-divorce. Uh MILLIONS of straight people do that. Debbie was no prude. She would have had no problem if Miss Moorehead HAD made those choices.

      @MTknitter22 2 года назад +4

      @Perfecto Rodriguez I understand Pedro, and hey, you might be right, I have no personal knowledge of Miss Moorehead either. I just hate when posthumously this stuff gets passed around, ya know? No offense intended.

    Sexuality matters. That's why it's in movies, magazines, and people ( gays,bis, queer, trans ect) want so much attention for it. They say look at me I'm this or that. They want attention for their sexuality. Also, everyone, and I mean everyone has issues, yet don't go around saying poor me.

    I'm conflicted about this. I've heard this rumor, but I've also heard that the idea she was a Lesbian came from a standup act by Paul Lynde. (He also called her a "big dyke"" ) On the one hand, a factual representation is important, no matter one's truth, On the other, it's a shame that women, no matter what their accomplishments, are so often defined by who they slept with.

    The evidence leans toward heterosexual behavior and being celibate when not married. This would be consistent with her faith and what her close friends believe about her. Why would anyone assume otherwise. Why do so many assume people with clearly stated values are hypocritical. This only important because saying she gay brings into question her professed faith and personal integrity Of course, these accusations come after her death so she cannot sue the accusers

    My question is: Does it matter? She was a talent beyond anyone's comprehension. Her old time radio shows were totally awesome. Her t v. and film roles were great (anything Mercury Theater just in case you've not heard of) . All in all she was great. So the answer is no. It doesn't matter.

    she would still be sleeping with women if the usa hadn't tested nuclear weapons in our own desert (with no regard whatsoever for the native wildlife). the fallout from those tests is still all around us and is still making americans sick with cancer. and yes, that was the same usa gov't that sued the tobacco industry.

    She was deeply religious which was well known in Hollywood. Katherine Hepburn said hollywood try to make everyone a homosexual. Morehead was in more offbeat movies like Orson Welles' movies. Why don''t you look at what is really there, a deeply religious, non gay, gifted and dedicated actress.????

    Moorehead is one of America's most talented actors in the history of American acting. She is eons beyond any current actor seen today in media or films. To indulge in useless rumors regarding her personal life is trite and meaningless to the max. Aspiring actors of this era should closely study Moorehead's life and work as recorded in films and tape. Maybe one of them might approach her genius and class.
