This is actually my car lol. Thanks for featuring it! Was able to see it in person yesterday and very happy with how it looks. Great work and awesome video! :)
This is just awesome. Body shop owners letting you come in and painting a car together. Taking tips from each other with no egos in the way. Love it. What about a wet bed with clear base coat? Would that if blended better or was this more of a color match issue?
Wish I could paint 1/10 as good as you can. Watching you has helped me immensely!! I think lighting is always my biggest issue. Thank you for you time and tips!💪👊
I comment on last video asking how to blend a not perfect color match, 6 days later he puts out the video. This guy is not messing around with the comments! Thanks for the vid:)
Love it when you take us to other bodyshop and to see them paint its being a pleasure seeing you spray Kenny I have a ? Kenny you was spraying close to the panel and moving pretty fast was you using a 1. 4 nozal thank you Brian for the tour great video
Nice collab! I saw that color in person once, its an interesting color, I really like it. Especially interesting looking under parking garage lighting.
when i do the reduction on the base for final blending i prefer to use the base additive rather than reducer, the base additive is the clear base same as the tinters so you dont over thin the paint and cause a drag from micro runs
Hi there Brian ! Thanks a lot for your hard work and learning us so many things! One question please: wich clear coat do you use the most ? Thank you again !!
Maybe I missed it but..do you have a video where you go over terminology and other basic basic settings and verbiage? Sometimes I hear sealant-sometimes I hear primer. Aren’t they the same thing? Are 1.3, 1.5 and 1.8 the only 3 nozzle sizes out there; do you have to use all 3 for specific jobs? When do you use etching primer and when do you use epoxy primer. How do you setup the cup system you always talk about? Might’ve already answered those in another video. But I couldn’t find one that had all that stuff. Love watching your vids, very informative!
You swept it and swept it nearly done all panel with new paint trying to get rid off the line Just use binder/binder so you can see how it goes right away. Binder works like charm
My 435i has the M Performance brake kit in the Austin yellow. Unfortunately, it's entire front end is being repainted do to severe rock damage from a milled road.
Hi. Can you make a video about prizes/amount labor and materials. Per pannel. Whole car, blending per panels. How much does it cost for labor, materials.blending. Thanks a lot Bryan
Hi Brian, (a) Any particular reason you guys spraying base so low pressure (13-14 psi). (b) Also, I notice in this blend job you don't use any wetbed before laying down base. Any reason behind this? (c) Any reason you guys over-reduced the last basecoat with reducer rather than with a blending additive like you use in other videos? Nice to know you have different ways of accomplishing the same thing. Always learning something in your vids, keep up the good work!
A) that gun sprays at very Low PSI, it is designed to have optimal atomizationbetween 13 and 14 psi B/C We didn’t have a blending additive so we decided to just instead over reduce the base. Both methods will work
I bought a kit that has waterborne color match paint and solvent based CC. I understand the process and flash times for BC and clearing, but my gun failed during the first basecoat. I bought another gun, and went to prep the cured waterborne paint and it broke down. I used solvent pre-paint after keying the paint; it started dissolving back to sealer coat. I guess I'll need to strip the basecoat and re-seal and continue. Is that correct? Thanks in advance. Love this channel!
Great video but just to clarify if spraying with the DV1 basecoat with a 1.3 fluid tip the pressure at the digitial guage is 13-14psi just for blends or everything? Just want to be sure cause I thought ideal psi for spraying solvent was around 21-22 psi. Thanks much
I currently have this exact car with the same color in the shop. Door, fender and bumper will be replaced and refinished, no big deal right? Not worried about match, this car has a yellow complete body wrap. Sweet car, no doubt, strange color choice for a wrap.
I need some help. I am attempting my first paint project on a topper I found for my truck that was the wrong color so I'm color matching it. I have some dry spots in the base coat and I was wondering if I could wet sand the base coat with like a 800 or 1000 onto smooth it out before applying the clear. Also I am using aerosol as its the only thing I have, base and 2k clear.
@@PaintSocietyAwesome!! Thank you. Put my last coat of clear on this morning. Since its aerosol 2k clear, I'm going to let it cure probably until Sunday before I get it mounted to my truck.
The Mercedes repaint. Painting it with bumpers attached eh... I'd think a full repaint it would be best to remove bumper etc so there would be less chance of cutoff lines
That is one sick color...👌..and i dont like pineapple on my pizza. But i do like a bqq chicken with bacon pizza...and of course i change the sauce...yep you guess it to BBQ sauce...lol
I am amazed sanding with 800 and it doesn't peal? I used to run a auto body repair shop years ago and finest I ever used was 320 for finished sanding and never had any problems.. Used Dupont products. Nothing to day beats 100S multi purpose epoxy primer which was eliminated years ago. It was to good. Lol.
Dude how did u like how that sagola shot clear? I’m gonna b ordering that gun hopefully this up coming week seen a lot of good reviews about it. I’m loving these uncut videos bro keep up the great work!
why sometimes I paint a quarterpanel and bumper at the same time but the bumper looks darker. Even from the factory I see new cars where the bumpers are way off. Is there some kind of additive or something that can be added
I know, I'm just your average joe shmoe, but when I see a nice car but you can see that blend line (no matter how close it is) and it just drives me nuts.
So the trick was to take out most of the bass out n add more reducer? to smoother out the blend? Like the fact that you went to a different shop and showed around... not every shop Is the same
So guys do pineapples belong on pizzas?
No way Jose !!!
Hellll no!
White pizza
Noooooooooo!!!!😝
Nope...and yes i have tried it...
Love the idea of touring other shops, I like to see all the different set ups and techniques
This is actually my car lol. Thanks for featuring it! Was able to see it in person yesterday and very happy with how it looks. Great work and awesome video! :)
Kenny is the man. You picked a great shop! Glad to make this right for you.
I am a painter from south Africa and we do things a touch different over this side so good to see how it's done in the USA
How do we do it here, if I may?
Great video. Thanks for showing that blend technique.
Great video and where you said stop at about 9 minutes on building the blend out was so spot on ,its so easy to get carried away, thanks Tony and Kenny

What about a wet bed with clear base coat? Would that if blended better or was this more of a color match issue?
JOEGGGJOE on cooler night with an extra slow reducer it’s like using a wether because the edge lay super smooth. You don’t need the wet bed
Wish I could paint 1/10 as good as you can. Watching you has helped me immensely!! I think lighting is always my biggest issue. Thank you for you time and tips!💪👊
Fantastic job!!! Don’t forget your edges.
Great video as always
Ahc in the house !

That one was for you 👍
Great job Brian and Kenny nice to see other shop set ups and how they lay down different materials great blending job looks really good🤙
You guy's are EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice! Love seeing people enjoy our products! 👍
I like a thick slice of pepperoni pizza. Shout out to Kenny for letting you come through and check out his shop. Seems like a cool guy
JDM crew hahah! Yes
Great blending tip with the reduser. He's got a pretty nice set up. Rockin the sagola. I'm all meats type dude on my pizza, no pineapple thanks.
Good idea show the other shops.....👍
Nice collab! I saw that color in person once, its an interesting color, I really like it. Especially interesting looking under parking garage lighting.
DB8 Dante very interesting color
I like it what a colour 👍
Looked good!

I love the shop, the layout... I want to get a nice shop like that!! Kudos!!
Thanks Brian great stuff man

Really love the videos you do.
Getting flashbacks when I use ti work at a body shop, thanks 🤙🤙
Great video Brian and slick paint job Kenny! Looks like it turned out great, such a cool color!
Thanks ! I been loving your channel.
Paint Society thanks brother! I’m certainly trying my best!
Great painting video. Pineapple on pizza is surprisingly good, so are garlic slices.
Really cool video man!
Sweet car!
I like what your doing, thinking outside the box. Color came out great! Kenny seems like a good dude, would definitely have him fix my car.
He definitely is really cool to be around

Great work fellas!!😎
Yeeeahhh !!! Another one !! 👍👍👍
Nice job dude. No1 fan here. Love the pizza as well
I liked the color in the matt look better than the gloss look.
@7:25 what kind of light are you using?
Kenny the man
why didn’t he use clear base when blending? I’m just curious
no need to isolate the substrate on this one.
Cool
Night. Slow reducer. Didn’t need it
You swept it and swept it
nearly done all panel with new paint trying to get rid off the line
Just use binder/binder so you can see how it goes right away.

And lumia it just a waste of time
It looks like it
Just saying

Good on u guys sharing pizza 🍕 👏 👌 😋 🙌
I enjoy listening to you but I would to the ins and out of Cramax and Standox which one blends better and covers better the pros and cons
Only have used standox
@@PaintSociety the pros and cons of the system does it match and blend good
NEW YORK HERE!
Yao bro what is another name for reducer ???? Is the thinner???
You want to come over to mine and paint a few cars for me 😜 great video both that yellow is a pig of a colour 😊

Great job ... one day would like to see what it takes to lay down and blend that NSX Valencia Red Pearl ;-)
It’s good to treat B67 as a three stage. Do a let down card if color is giving you issues.

Will a clear base help with the blend?
It could have helped only if added to the mix

Me either haha
Awesome vid!!
Did you end up painting the gas door?

Reducing 50/50? Does this technique work for water based paint as well?
Brian what is your air pressure at the wall?
45 and adjust at the gun

Was this water or solvent?
Solvent
+paint society. can you give me this colour code PLEASE? for paint my bmw e-87. a lot of thanks :)
Are you actually in Miami or you just visited
We are located down here
capricciosa is da best.
Trying to decide if that's either one ugly color or just a better yellow. Interesting video though, nice lesson in doing blends.
the best pizza is the moms pizza! Italian Style!
Yo I Have a BMW Frozen grey that need 3 panels repainted, I will plan a road trip if you are willing tp spray it!
I know, I'm just your average joe shmoe, but when I see a nice car but you can see that blend line (no matter how close it is) and it just drives me nuts.
It is indigo pearls
Blending the quarter panels for a number job!!.. sure it matches better but who does that? Not cost efficient or good for the car..
So the trick was to take out most of the bass out n add more reducer? to smoother out the blend?
Like the fact that you went to a different shop and showed around... not every shop Is the same
Just reduce the pigment of the color to make it more transparent
