This looks even better in real life. The face is more subtle when not in direct sunlight and a lot of people commented on its elegance. It blew all the other watches in the shop I bought it from out of the water on pure looks and was also the cheapest, which was a bonus.
I think this video is the best in demonstrating the aesthetic features of this watch. It really shows how beautiful the watch may look in real life which unfortunately is difficult to portray in online stores.
Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know a method to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Weston Josue Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I usually dislike the way Longines places dates, but I really don't mind this one at all. And, I love the fact it has a closed case back and pin buckle.
Thanks for the review. I particularly like the position of the Date Window, it draws the eye and makes it stand out from the 3 O'clock crowd. I have ordered one through my local A.D.
It's a very beautiful model. I've owned the black one twice and the silver one once. I really liked them, but, just like you, the date wheel kept bothering me. I especially dislike that the date seems to be slightly off center to the left in the date window, which I experienced on all my models, so I am assuming that that's a problem with all these models. I also wish that the hour markers were a little slimmer. It is, however, a really beautiful model and definitely one of the best dress watches you can find for that money, if not the best. Beautiful caseback too. Nice review!
Really well formatted video here. It's fantastic that you've incorporated other shots of this watch whilst out in daylight conditions as that can really make a difference in the immediate appearance of the watch. A beautiful watch that can only be presented as a dress watch in fine social settings as described that I think all other longines watches follow suit. Longines seems to be that watch brand that defines elegance and class but with a huge subtlety as it's not the popular brand name most men would associate with wrist watches. You'd almost have to have a little knowledge first on watches/brands to then select a longines time piece to go out and purchase. I have a longines flagship 35.6mm automatic very nice to wear with the right clothing.
Beautiful watch! Agree that with the acrylic crystal, this is a special occasion watch (at least for me, as I've always been prone to scratching the crystal before I started buying sapphire).
It’s perfect with the acrylic. It’s so easy to polish out scratches anyway and very cheap if you do need to replace if it ever cracked. Sapphire on this watch would have completely killed the aesthetic.
@@thewatchwatch5952 Thanks. I'm at 6.75". I've had some 35mm watches and they wore small, but the Longines seem to wear larger at that size. I guess the lug-to-lug maybe. I have an Orient 40.5mm that seems to be right in my wheelhouse but somehow the 40mm CH seems much larger. The problem in my area is finding any Longines to try on....
@@ArchieRLibThis watch wears big. I have a 6.5” wrist and so I was concerned about the size as well but it wears like a 36mm or 37mm watch. It’s the longer lugs and the fact that the dial is relatively large because of the small bezel. It wears like a dream.
3:26 I bough my Longines Conquest (without the word "Heritage" in the name) in 2000 in Germany. The back features only the model number L1.611.4 and this number: 28855159. I have no idea what the second number is. The rest is exactly as you describe.
You are correct. Its price should be lower and you pay for all the fancy boxes it comes in. It just has the run of the mill ETA movement but presentation is nice. I have the original 1960's version also with the date at the 12 but with the in house caliber 291 movement which I prefer.
Those were the days when Longines was more on a par with Rolex and Omega in terms of prestige and movements - in fact I think it was ahead of them both during this period, or perhaps slightly before. The Swatch group has reordered the "rankings" of many brands it bought, but Longine was very much a top watch maker back then.
The original 291 calibre makes the ‘54 watch about 3mm thicker than the modern heritage model (approximately 13.5mm vs 10.5mm). Also, a modern “run of the mill” 2824 is technologically superior, more accurate and cheaper and easier to service and source parts for. The heritage “reissue” is precisely for people who want almost exactly the same look as the ‘54 model but without all the potential headaches that come with owning a now 70 year old watch.
Awesome video and thanks for all the great information. I bought this model in a jewellery in U.K. ( online) and they said to me that they have two different models of this watch: with hesitate crystal and sapphire crystal. Is that correct? Many thanks in advance.
Nacho Valenti I believe there is a larger 41mm dial version of the heritage conquest called the 'flagship' with a crystal but it is a different design to this one. Could that be the model that they are talking about?
The Watch Watch Yes,you are right because I was checking that and Longines Flagship have sapphire crystal and Longines Heritage 40mm. as well. I bought my 35mm. and arrives yesterday. It is a beautiful watch and is almost the same than the watch that had my grandpa along time ago. Many thanks for your answer.
Thank you for reply. The Watch Watch I bought the same watch on Jura watch from UK. But the luminous marks has came off when I opened the box. The dial glasses is too easy to be scratched. But on Jura watch website it says this watch has sapphire dial. This is a good watch anyway. Otherwise, why there is another version of watch box looks like wooden box , but mine is the same as yours.
It may be worth contacting Jura regarding their mis-information on their site and your experiences with the watch. I'd push for a replacement on your watch. It's completely wrong that they're advertising the watch with a sapphire crystal glass.
The Watch Watch You are exactly right. I have already contacted Jura watch and showed all of problems. I am waiting for their reply. Thank you for your guide.
very nice video! have you had any issues with the piece since you did the review? specifically i have read complaints about the gold medallion on the caseback detaching and about some funny business when winding the movement... have you experienced either of these?
0:25 uhg, am I the only one who hates when people do this to a watch??? I always hack my watches exactly at zero seconds, but i ways see people do this on RUclips 😬
At that price they should use a domed sapphire crystal with the same look but more durable, that choice is a true deal breaker in my opinion. Come on, only my beaters Vostok Amphibias have that cheap crystal which I have to polish often!
It would look like trash with sapphire. It’s just too reflective and they can just never get the curve of the dome correct. Yuck. Go buy the larger sapphire model for literally double the price. Also, my “beater” Moonwatch has acrylic as well, maybe you could be a bit more open-minded about why watch makers might choose acrylic over sapphire as it’s not just for the price.
So, a three-hand 2824 watch with the date, as usual for Longines, in the worst possible place. If they offered one with no date at all, it might be a contender.
The date window is totally unnecessary and hurt the aesthetic. The date window is unless either way. I don't know why it needs to be there. It ruins the otherwise perfect watch.
Within two hours i went back to the dealer to return it… it is a very loud watch. I have many of the big names and am very disappointed. My cheapest Chinese watch is equivalent. Junky sound
This watch is so overpriced it boggles the mind. I now buy mostly Chinese watches with quality nearly the same as these watches. If I want good value for money I look at Seiko dress watches.

One of the best reviews out there, even in 2022! I’m getting this watch :) thanks for a great review
Thank you!
@@thewatchwatch5952This watch is a grail of mine
This is the perfect watch if you love vintage mid 20th century watches but dont want to deal with vintage hassles.

I would love one
Stunning piece! A very faithful vintage recreation. That's why Longines is doing so well these days. They stay loyal to their roots.
I have one and love it , and I particularly like the Date at 12 o'clock, makes it that little bit unique :)
Love how you took it around for footage!

I just bought this today an hour ago (29.10.2022). This elegant watch has all the features and looks I have been looking for. ❤
I usually dislike the way Longines places dates, but I really don't mind this one at all. And, I love the fact it has a closed case back and pin buckle.
I bought this watch due to its nice silver dial. Love it!
My dream watch, elegant, understated for me perfect, i will never afford it, just an ordinary working man im afraid, i can dream though
I’ve just stumbled across your channel. I’m really impressed with this review.
Gorgeous watch, and definitely on my list.
Love the locations too.

I just picked up one of these on Ebay, and it fits perfectly on my 7.5inch wrist. Doesnt look too small at all
That’s simply a beautiful watch. I want one.
Yesterday just bought a Longines Flagship, loved it, and this one as well
Hi, planning to buy but confused bt flagship and this one. Pls suggest which one is better looking. Thanks.
@@mirtyunjaysingh13 flagship for sure. I prefer dress watches with thinner hour markers. The small seconds is also very cool IMO

great job man. I'm looking at purchasing a second hand one and this helped
Longines is getting my money.
absolutely beautiful watch
I really enjoyed the way you present your review. Thanks
Beautiful watch. It's a shame it is not sapphire glass. The case back is stunning.
Might not look as good in sapphire.
It’s perfect with the acrylic. It’s so easy to polish out scratches anyway and very cheap if you do need to replace if it ever cracked.
Sapphire on this watch would have completely killed the aesthetic.
Wonderful review. Thank you for the thorough video
I just bought this watch.I love it
I own the an original 1964 gold version of this watch, and as you say, it doesn't have a date complication.
That must be quite something to be able to say I own the watch the one in the video is based on from 1964.
bought it in 1990 rose gold, best looking Longines watch.
Hi. How big is your wrist, in centimemeters or in inches?
Hi everyone, does anyone know if the indices on the dial and the center of the case back are gold-plated or just gold-colored?
He said gold plated in this video
What size is your wrist, if I may ask? I'm stuck between this watch and the 40mm sapphire model.
6", so on the small side. Would defo try both on and see which suits you best

Do you think this will look good as a dress watch on a 6 inches wrist?
My wrist is 6 inches, so this video should give you a good idea.
I think it is the first time I'm thinking of using a watch that is less than 40mm, I really would like them to do a similar on at least 40mm
They literally make this exact model in 40mm with sapphire Crystal glass
