Thank you for this... My brother was paralyzed a month ago and is about ready to go home from therapy. I'm glad there are so many folks willing to show and share tips like this.
You're very welcome!😊 That's why i made them. I remember out patient therapy and how i really didn't use much of what they taught me. I figured a lot of it out on my own, so i figured i'd share. Glad to help!😁 Let me know if you think of any other videos i can make to help. And i appreciate the comment! Thank u
Good on you bro! I'm a T6 complete over in U.K.. and informative to others. Only point I can add is don't get a belly as being no core it's hard to muscle up, your legs don't get as close as they need to ;)
Thanks for sharing, Im a new T5 complete and the way they taught me in rehab was much harder and I still cant do that today. Ill try your way...cheers!
That's really amazing bro I'd honestly like to see this again from a different angle tbh like maybe from the side tbh because that would help me out a lot I believe
Great video! Do you mind if I ask about your chair specs? In particular, the front seat height & seat width. I'm close to buying a new TiLite because my current Quickie is way too high to climb back into it from the floor as it has a 21 inch front seat height. Thanks!
How long after the accident did it take you to be able to do that? I’m a T5 para complete as well, have been for 1 year so far. Thank you for your videos :)
If i get stuck in the floor, how you put your legs, pulled up close to you, mine will just slide straight back down, ive tried so many ways, but always the same. My SCI is L3-L4, and has left me with spastic paralysis & polyneuropathy. Can you offer any advice? Im in the UK which sadly isnt as advanced as USA
marie edge hmmm, well everybody is different, my way won't work for everyone. But I always recommend shoes. They help stop the feet from sliding. Without shoes my feet would slide a bit. And also be patient, wait for spasms to calm down. I can do it with my legs out, but that's only because I have had a lot of practice and I'm a lightweight guy. Hope this helps🙂
Perhaps keeping a Velcro strap in your back pack (if you carry one) would be useful in that you could strap the foot nearest the chair to the chair but just firmly enough to allow for pivotal movement.
Not that i notice. But if a crack or something is more then like 2inches then i gotta pop the front wheels. Im used to it though, being a very active para.
nice. u ve heard about Tomasz Gollob? he's been paralyzed recently but now they're saying he's regaining proprioception in his legs. u think it means he'll be able to walk? do you have any proprioception? Cheers,

Thank you for doing what you do. It helps!!!
I'm a T5 complete too. I always have a bungee cord or two on my chair. They help keep my knees together so i can just focus on the lift.
Thank you so much that was very informative

Your foot plate looks really low. Does that get you hung up on things?
