One thing I like about Kermit is he is very knowledgeable but still has the humility to be open about the fact that there's stuff he doesn't know. That's really endearing.

I have no doubt they probably met. My Uncle was known for being a incredible tuner. Many a pilot would make an excuse to get diverted to his airbase. My grandmother would right to him and asked what he needed. He would write back more handkerchiefs please. Every time he worked on the carbys a hanki would be used to keep sand out of parts. Went on to develop diesel intercoolers for plant equipment after the 2nd war. Incredible man. Lest we forget.

If memory serves correctly, ( I'm 85 ) I remember seeing these parked at end of runway at Grenier Field, Manchester, NH during the War. We lived in Litchfield, NH just down the road from the airbase at the time, and aircraft parked at or near end of runway closest to the road were often visible. A lot of ferry flights - especially B-17's - left this base during the War for overseas destinations.

I used to drive by this Aircraft every day in the 70's when it was parked at Metro field in Fairbanks, AK. At that time I was working at Gabe's Truck and Auto.. and I spend many the lunch hour walking around this sexy bird!
Funny story, at that time we were building the "GFRA" race track, on permafrost ground.. It was so soupy during breakup that we "lost" a D6 Cat by leaving it running overnight.. in the morning only the top of the roll cage was showing above ground lol. So needless to say, we put tons of material on the track and we were "Gifted" about 150 barrels of "Waste Oil" (Oil, Antifreeze, DN-600, ATF and one unknown ingredient) from Alyeska Pipeline Co.. So we used that "oil" on the track and wacker-packed the heck out of it.. and on the first Sunday race day, the track looked great! The first qualifying race was ready to go and after a roaring start the cars blipped there throttles to "setup" for the corner.. Of course they backfired,, and WOOSH a 360 deg ring of fire around the track! (Turns out that waste oil's secret ingredient was Jet A😀 Over the years I lost the VHS tapes of the A Stock cars racing through the flames! That's how the Greater Fairbanks Racing Association's new race track was christened by fire! Small world Kermit that you ended up with her, Thank you for bring back great memories and a gorgeous Warbird!

So cool, AMAZING restoration! When I was a 7 or 8 year old kid back in the late 50's they had one of these as a static display at Friendship Intl (later BWI) my father a B-24 Bombardier took me aboard and I distinctly remember him picking me up to the tunnel over the bomb bay and we both crawled into the cockpit. Years later 1966 or so they had one parked on the far side of the field as an old relic. I would sneak under the fence and go aboard and play "Sky King". I loved old planes and still do.... jets, suck and the blow pretty much, at least from my experience in the Navy. I'll take props any day!

Beautiful B-25. Yours should be the standard all are restored to. The red crank at the radio operators station is to lower the flaps in the event the hydraulics are lost. They only crank down, so once they're in, they're in. Our B-25 doesn't have it, but it was on the SIC test. The crank for the bomb bay is up by the navigator, but we don't have that either. Thank you for your videos.

An old WW2 pilot I had the pleasure of speaking with while I'd service his car (over 20 years ago) told me he LOVED flying the B-25. He said it was super stable, easy to fly, resilient, and easier to take off and land with the nose gear versus the tail dragging B-17 that he said could get a little tricky landing. Great video Kermit! Too bad there aren't any flying B-26's. (My personal favorite.)

I saw my first B-25 in July 1998. I was visiting Florida for the first time and was in my motel on Irlo Johnson Highway, Kissimmee, when loud racket went overhead. I jumped outside in time to see a B-25, with wheels and flaps down, clearly on final to some airfield. I went to the motel office and got a map of Kissimmee. I found the airport and put it on the To-Do List while I was in town - my main mission, on that trip, was to drive out to the Space Coast and watch STS-88 Endeavour launch the second module of the Space Station, but there was room in my schedule for extra activities.
A couple of days later, I was able to get to the airport and spent a few hours at the Flying Tigers Warbirds Museum. Very interesting place.
Don't worry, Kermit: next trip to Florida, you're on my To-Do List. Definitely!
PS Space Shuttle Endeavour didn't launch. That happened to me two out of two trips.

The actual pilot of the Apache Princess when she was shot down was my Father in Law, Ted Hart. I never knew him very well as he had Alzheimers by the time I came along. He passed away on 1 April 2000, and all of his children have now passed on. He'd never talk about the incident, but I read the story of his survival in a Japanese POW camp on Formosa which, of course is now Taiwan. It was quite a story. I believe he was the only crewmember who survived the POW camp. It is really nice that you chose that plane for the restoration. Thanks.

Always love your plane tours Mr Weeks. Wish there was a way to get some of your Jamaican Rum up here in lower Alabama.

Naked in Jamaica is available online through Jensen's Liquor for shipment to select states. Alabama isn't one of them, but if you know someone who lives in the Florida panhandle, you could have it shipped to them. Here's the Jensen link.

May God bless you for your insight into aviation that you may share with us all.If not for your constant vigilance for preserving these artifacts we, and the future generations would not fully understand the sacrifice of the young men whom have given everything to preserve our American way of life.thank you Mr Weeks!

B-25's used to be everywhere. I remember one sitting at a local airport in Delaware that I would pass on my way back to college.

Thank you for this video. Though I am not that much into multi-engined airplanes, this one is great. Your B-25 is a very nice one for sure. 👍👍

Solid movie! Good radial sounds! Too bad no flying due to the crisis, same here with our B-25 “Sarinah” here in The Netherlands. She was just finished after some years of TLC.

Kermit, sometimes you do things the hard way, climbing over that engine like that. Thanks for the show of that fabulous bird. B-25s are cool and have a very unique sound. Also love the B-26s. Those really look fast. Thanks for sharing and climbing around that thing for us. I, probably like you are a 10 year old when these things are around. They just make you feel good.

Watching this on a big screen tv and at 4:21 i had to stop the vid and go get my phone and comment to give you proper recognition for bravely climbing up over the prop and onto the engine cover and giving us a bird's-eye tour. Anything else in this vid is gravy. (Would've liked to have poked my head into that engine compartment a little more, but still good)
