Also dark tournament and chapter black from Yu yu Hakusho are so close in quality it's hard to pick one I like more than the other

Berserk and HXH will always be my favorite Manga of all time.
Berserk, HxH and Eden it’s an Endless World are my top 3. Coincidentally they also have my top 3 arcs of all time.
While I enjoy The Golden Age and Conviction Arc, I personally love the Millennium Falcon Arc the most.
The ending to that arc has no comparison.

@@vinitsz Imo Skypiea is one of the best One Piece arcs that encapsulates the true essence of the adventure , it has everything what I like in there. It could have been a little shorter that is true , but it doesn't take away from the great storytelling . Also it's a stand alone kind of arc , if that makes sense. You can read/watch it whenever you like.

Amazing picks Ryan! I'm an anime only as far as Vinland Saga is concerned. Thorfinn's look of defeat, regret and emptiness and his slow steady rise out of it is relatable especially at this chapter in my life where I'm healing. Keep up the awesome content Ryan!

@@Gtex555 I have to admit that objectively, the first arc is the better written story. However, we’re talking about personal favourites here and I enjoyed the Goldy Pond arc more. I fail to understand why they decided to skip it in that disastrous second season of the anime.

My favorite 10 weaboo arcs (and arc-likes) are (in manga, anime & visual novels) in no particular order:
1) MANGA | *Berserk* | Golden Age (everyone knows the reason)
2) ANIME | *One Piece* | Water 7 (crew drama at its peak, and from here on out One Piece really starts to shine)
3) ANIME | *Higurashi When They Cry* | Eye-opening arc (revelation of the second arc and has the best most nail-biting (get it?) moments in the entire series, also best girl as protagonist)
4) VN | *Umineko When They Cry* | Banquet of the Golden Witch (step up episode with the mystery-solving getting even greater, also massive plottwist)
5) MANGA | *Dragon Ball* | Cell Games (Gohan really shines here, and if Buu's arc didn't exist, this would be an amazing endpoint)
6) ANIME | *Bakuman* | The arc with the umbrella in the snow idk (there was just so much emotion in these episodes, I remember them fondly)
7) MANGA | *Devilman* | THAT arc with the burning house (everything went to shit, and the final showdown started)
8) ANIME | *NG Evangelion* | The End of Evangelion (if you know, you know)
9) MANGA | *Tokyo Ghoul* | Introduction Arc (it's just such a realistic representation of changing into a monster)
10) ANIME | *Pet Girl of Sakurasou* | Final Arc (parting ways to pursue your dreams and making way for a new generation is bittersweet. This show destroyed me 😅)

Just my opinion tho. I love all these mangas and currently I'm reading 20th century boys.
Very respectable list, nicely done! I personally rate Millenium Falcon much higher, but I certainly understand your hype on Conviction Arc. Gantz is also a cool inclusion, I still need to get around finishing that manga. @@islandboy9381 it's funny but imo the second Darby fight almost ruins the intense tone I loved when the crusaders enter Dio's mansion. it's also an unnecessary repeat of the much better first Darby fight without the character development that fight gave Jotaro. If it happened before Iggy fought Pet Shop I wouldn't have that much of an issue with it.

I remember when watching the Gantz anime and the buddha mission was over. Couldn't believe what just happened. Might've been the first finished anime series where i just had to pick up the manga, to see what would happen next. Gantz is really the first series that got me into seinen, especially due to the buddha mission.

Dragon Ball is still imo one of the most skilfully drawn manga I've ever seen.
The paneling is probably the best I have ever seen in any manga. It's sooo easy to follow and never gets confusing
Finally someone talking about how great the Inshun arc is in Vagabond. For me I just never really had the motivation the read Vagabond beyond that arc, it had everything I want from a story like this and if the manga had ended there I wouldn't have had a problem with that. I still haven't finished Vagabond even though I re-read this one arc almost every year.

Buddhist temple arc was what kept me from dropping Gantz! I wasn't really enjoying the previous arcs that much and I found early Kurono to be such an infuriating incel... I was so close to stopping but I'm glad I didn't.
It's like once the Buddha mission started the real story kicked off. From then onward is such a big leap in quality compared to the beginning chapters. If I were to pick my favorite Gantz arc it would probably be the final arc but the Osaka arc is a close second.

Right after Millennium Falcon arc of Berserk. It is just that good. I think you'd love Shigurui.

Seto Kaiba is one of the greatest antagonists of all time. This arc is why.
While the idea of a high stakes holographic card game is of course really childish
at the same time a troubled child billionaire with that much unchecked power is a bit
of a disturbing allegory. I’m not sure what.
But there is definitely something there.

9 Lethal Fight -Shamo
This is the arc that made Ryo Narushima
the best villain protagonist ever written.
Although at its core it’s about an uneven
Karate match it plays off the underdog
trope to where you wonder wait am
I rooting for the bad guy?
8 Black Horizon -Beet The Vandel Buster
This is a pretty classic Shonen arc about
betrayal, anger, fear and team work.
It’s not exactly groundbreaking material
but it is executed so damn well here.
7 Marley - Attack on Titan
In this arc we finally get to see what is
beyond the walls and the other side of
the conflict that we thought we knew.
While the arc isn’t really concerned with
you agreeing with Marley philosophy
It creates this world where you can get
why a character like Reiner would commit such atrocities while also questioning just how good the good side really is
6 Goldy Pond-The Promised Neverland
This is the arc the anime skipped and it is
a HUGE letdown because it’s so awesome.
If you ever got tired of every Shonen arc
using aura blasts this changes it up
with kids and guns lots of guns.
That and a lot of strategy too.
It’s the ultimate hunt or be hunted arc
5 Greed Island- Hunter x Hunter
Sure I could have done Chimera Ant arc
but Greed Island imho is in its own way
just as insanely awesome. It’s essentially
a training arc which parodies mmorpgs
and it’s revealed to kinda be a waste of time
(until it’s revealed it actually wasn’t )
While Chimera Ant was brilliant this arc
was really the fun little “side trip” that
makes HxH as a whole so friggin good.
You could make an entire video game
franchise out of Greed Island.
It’s a story within a story.
Plus hey I like Genthru and I hope he returns.
4 Thousand Year Blood War-Bleach
I know the anime came out recently but
I had read the manga long ago and I
friggin love this arc. Why? Yhwach.
He is such a fun badass completely over the top villain. A lot of manga readers say it went downhill at the end but I disagree.
To me it was a fantastic arc but it was clear that Kubo had way more story and ideas
then his health would let him draw.
Ichigo is also a favorite protagonist of mine.
He’s just so chill and a cool dude.
Honestly I don’t trust Soul Society but
Ichigo at least is pretty legit.
3 Labyrinth-Uzumaki
I don’t know what the actual arc name is
but basically Volume 3 of Uzumaki brings the curse of the spiral to full circle.
Uzumaki is technically horror and while
it certainly has that it also lures you
and you can sense the foreboding doom ? Or
perhaps something new?
2 Grimmer - Monster
One of Urasawa’s greatest strengths is
being able to put his MC on the bench
and create a temporary protagonist who
ends up being incredibly likable and fascinating. Mr. Grimmer is the epitome of this.

but screw it. I friggin love the web comic. Not saying the manga isn’t good because it is but as someone trying to make their own web comic it’s hella inspirational
to see ONE improve as an artist

I know a lot of artists will look at
say Miura’s art and be inspired but
really the art can be overwhelming
it has so much detail that it looks like it would take forever.
And for me it would. So then I
think why even try? I mean sure
there are other great artists who
aren’t as crazy detailed but even so they are still light years ahead of me.
And while ONE is still a much better artist than me it’s his so called “bad art” that inspires me to
quit worrying about what any other artist draws like and to just draw and tell a story.

Jojo's bizarre adventure I also have a tough time ranking on my first viewing part 5 I thought was the best but they have like mini arcs in between part 5 so it wouldn't technically be an arc , it's more like each part is like a saga like dragonball z would you count mini arcs as separate from the whole thing as an isolated story or..?
