What happened to Point Blank? This shit was wicked back then , I can remember rocking this shit in highschool watching it on Much music, come on back boys 2024
Kid ratted out chino and pointed his azz out in court, shaking hands with the arresting detectives .they got run out of regent, by the real hit men.. chino recently died in Collins Bay..facts .
These dudes kept it real forever, this track goes hard, beautiful track, only those that grew up in certain parts of this city in certain situations get it
I fucking lost my shit when they brought that trophy home ... finally Canada's had such a drought ( no championships) for ever I literally teared up when there was 2 seconds left on the clock ... finally a reason to be proud to be canadian . Just bought a new gold chain and a raptors pendant .. still cant believe .... much love from oshawa who still here in 2020 this song give you hope than the news comes on ... smh
First heard this maybe around 2007 on Much vibe. Still here today. It hurts my heart hearing those lyrics knowing shit hasn't changed in the black communities but at the same time it heals my soul knowing im not the only one going thru the struggles of a black man in the ghetto............
Alot of people dont know regent park was the first real housing project, it wasent in the u.s it was in Canada. The Americans used it as a model for social housing projects later. Not comparing the violence and crime rates, im just sayig the idea of lumping poor people into one area on purpose (funded by the goverment) was created in the 30s in Toronto Ontario. The point of this video is not to see whos hood is craziest, the point is to show that buy just tearing down a physical building and replacing it dose not tear down the socio economic problems that are the real reason behind poverty in the firsts place. It also shows how not much has changed in the end, thats why theres clips from the 30s 60s 70s and today showing people doing the same shit in the same place, the change is cosmetic on the outside to make outsiders happy thinking theres change because a new building looks nice, but the root cause stays same and has gotten worse.
Andre Black Baby Jesus but was it then labled as a project or did it just turn gradually into that? just wondering im no expert man, i thought regent was the first one set up by a government, i could be wrong it happens.
TheRadboy84 regent was built in the early 40s my bad, still i guess my point is Americans tend to not realize how long we have also had projects and shit, they think its all middle class people living in igloos or someshit.
I am so proud to see my boys shine like this, I know that it's been years since i've seen you guys but the love is still there. God bless keep up the good work... Love Grace
Just a reminder this is probably the best Canadian rap.l song of all time... respect due to ghetto concept , rascalz, maestro , infinite and yeah drizzy( fml).
One of my step sons favourite songs from Toronto rappers. He loves point blank. 6 yrs old and understands 80% of the lyrics in the songs they put out. He loves that they try to pull the kids off the corners and out of the trouble that surrounds the projects
Just found out my grandmother and great grandmother lived on Regent Street back in the day before it was public housing, when it was an Irish slum. History is coooool!

wow, this song is simply amazing. much love from bay area California, true hip hop this is the rap wish that would be played on radio. keep doing it up
Someone else alluded to this, but I think it's worth repeating, people should check out that documentary INVISIBLE CITY, from 2009, that follows the life of Canadian teens living in Regent Park during their final years of High School. The reason I'm mentioning this is because this song was in the end credits, which was actually a perfect companion and anthem to the doc.
im feeling this straight to the heart. tdot born and raised. its a shame their tearing this down. but u know it will still live on in our hearts. make it known, from hood to hood, we all got to live in the same stuggle. recognize. realize. unite tdot stand up!
I will never forget what happened here, and I'm an undergraduate law student, I will forever wear this pale and angry rose only to make right in terms of what Canada markets itself as, this great land of opportunity, yet what happens in some neighborhoods of Toronto ? If you have a heart, you will care, and remember, I am York.
RIP Regent Park; RIP real community. This place is now soulless and sterile condominium inhabited by hipsters, displacing the beautiful people seen in this video in the name of gentrification.

@@cwrichardson3 I used to give them a lot of business - I didn't even know they made music at the time. I found that out after I got sober.
"And they ask me why I act this way, I'm from a park where we don't play, and that's why I rap this way" My favorite line
Same with me haha!

From Scarb, moved to NY for work a few years back... This vid makes me proud to be from TO! Hatters stop hatting & Rep your CITY! All corners!
Hatters are insane due to the mercury poisoning resulting from their career as hatters. This is the origin of the term "mad hatter". Big ups mercury

Regent park is gone.
Regent Park is going through a gentrification transition as of this comment. Has been since the development plans were set in stone in 2005.
Alot of people dont know regent park was the first real housing project, it wasent in the u.s it was in Canada. The Americans used it as a model for social housing projects later.
