Que hombre tan humilde y con tanta dignidad y moral, nunca había escuchado de él, no se ni como llegué aquí, pero me representa este hombre como latinoamericano, desde R.D. Viva PR y ojalá algún día puedan lograr su independencia.
My family had some PR neighbors that spoke of things like this when I was a kid. I considered them criminals and traitors to America. When I got older, I met , fell in love and married a PR woman. I lived on the island for twelve years and go immersed in it's culture, history, etc. I realized that our country has treated PR like garbage since they took it from Spain in the Spanish American War. Now, although I'm a very patriotic American, I understand how these people felt and why they did it. Radical as they were, it is no different to Americans rebelling against Britain in the 1700s. If congress can't or won't grant PR independence they can at least abolish the Jones Act for Puerto Rico. it's has raped the island since it's inception IMO.
Moving forward! How would or will Puerto Rico progress independently? Many are leaving the island after hurricane Maria What is happening to Puerto Rico?
@@elizabethguilbe557 Unless people go back and others go to school for industry and governmental development, PR will remain the same or get worse. They need to adopt a Singaporean economy, offer incentives to foreign companies to manufacture there, get the complete population to demand independence and work their asses off for the future. There is no easy way around it. What they have to avoid is becoming a state like the democrats want and PR will always be "slaves" under their heels.
Man, you just made me cry. You understand or suffering. My mother was one of those women who were sterilized, 1/3 of the Puerto Rican population was sterilized. So-called operation bootstrap. I now consider you my brother! It's time, it's time for Puerto Rico to be free! I live in Orlando, and I had no idea of these things that happened in those days, but now I am well informed and I take my head off to the people that sacrificed everything for Puerto Rico, the Jones act is merely an abuse on the island of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico will never be a state, because these mega corporations are only paying 4% tax versus 30%, and these folks pay the campaigns of these corrupt us politicians who have turned Puerto Rico into America's little cash cow! I consider you a brother for saying what you said. I do not hate the American people I live in Orlando I hate the government and all the people that they have killed in the past 100 years. And there are some that thrive on misery!
