This has been a nice adventure, I wouldn’t mind seeing more like this. I liked the Allison E200 at the end, they are some of the best single decks in recent years

2:00 those car park lifts were originally Kone Maryatt Scot lifts and were far better before they modernised them.

The West of England is full of interesting places to visit including Bristol which apparently Bristol is not just a city. But has its own county as well.

You should go to chicago illinois and ride the elevators at the Marina towers, they are rockets and go from LL to RF (65) in 33 seconds.

3:15 This is the bit that fell into the sea and they chucked some old containers in to stop the houses being washed away.
And ~ which is why I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention it ~ cut off all those "5hιττγ" places west of here with their sΗ1τ lifts for a year and a bit or sthg.

I'm glad that you've managed to get to Trowbridge. It's obviously not that interesting but I live nearby and I was wondering what your opinions are on the Asda lifts.

That was a good video, I live in the Weston area. I think you should come back and visit Taunton properly as there are a few lifts in the town centre. Bridgwater also has some old Otis lifts but the town itself isn’t very nice. I also think you should visit Bristol, I think you’d enjoy it there

    4:31 You like hydraulics don't you‽
Well this bit of track is where Brunel ran his experimental vacuum tube down the middle of the rails - powered trains. Very smooth apparently but the local rats got a taste for the leather pipes.
    Just sayin.

Yes but "super" in a name is not normal for English. In Japanese it is very common as it must sound better in their language than it does in English where it just sounds weird.

@@benolifts Yep it does a bit, but it's just the same as "on" like Henley/Thames or dare I mention these days its brethren on this side of the country Clacton/Sea?
It is weird, but then you've seen Weston now haven't you. It's where Banksy did that Dismaland show in the run down old [Club] Tropicana Lido on the beach.

I find the "on" places sound a bit strange to me. I also wonder when Newcastle is "upon Tyne", rather than "on Tyne", and if there is any difference in this. Also I find the "on sea" places a weird name. I wonder why Gillingham (kent) is not known as "Gillingham on Medway", (there are 3 Gillinghams in the UK and people often go to the wrong one by mistake). Gillingham (kent) was renamed after it was built because the railway company chose to rename the town. Gillingham was originally just a couple of houses around a green (which is now a car park) and a church, while the town of Gillingham was called "New Brompton". For an unknown reason many years after New Brompton was built and expanded to the point where it merged into Gillingham, the entire thing was renamed as Gillingham, which tied into the railway station being moved 200 meters up the track, with the new station now being further away from Gillingham village. None of that makes any sense.

And then there's Newcastle under Lyme.
This place is strange and so's the world and they're better for it I think.
      Cheers for the vids fella.
