5:39 The thoracic duct goes through the diaphragm at the aortic hiatus (T12). It drains into the systemic circulation at the left venous angle created by the join of the left subclavian vein and left internal jugular.
6:03 There are three major aperarures in the diaphragm, the vena caval foramen, esophageal hiatus and aortic hiatus. A good way to remember this is I ate (8), 10 Eggs, At 12. I For IVC at the level of T8, E in eggs for Esophagus at the level of T10 and A in at for aorta at T12.
9:45 If you have a right then you have a left... I wish this was correct 100% of the time because there are always those pesky exceptions like a posterior nucleus of vagus nerve but where is the anterior one?
10:48 there are exceptions here, the right lymphatic duct in addition to those listed drains the left half of the heart, lymph drainage from the 4th to 10th segment of the left lung. The thoracic duct drains everything else and the right half of the heart.
