    Newcastle United Football Club is an English professional football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne, that plays in the Premier League which is the top-flight of English football. The club was founded in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End. The team plays its home matches at St. James' Park. All Premier League clubs have an all-seater stadium, the ground was adjusted in the mid-1990s and currently has a capacity of 52,305.
    The club has been a member of the Premier League for all but three years of the competition's history, spending 88 seasons in the top-flight as of July 2020, and have never dropped below English football's second tier since joining the Football League in 1893. Newcastle have won 4 League titles, 6 FA Cups and a Charity Shield, as well as the 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the 2006 UEFA Intertoto Cup, the ninth highest total of trophies won by an English club. The club's most successful period was between 1904 and 1910, when they won an FA Cup and three of their League titles. Newcastle were relegated in 2009, and again in the 2016 season. The club won promotion at the first time of asking each time, returning to the Premier League, as Championship winners, in 2010 and 2017.
    As of the 2019-20 season, Newcastle United have spent 88 seasons in the top-flight. They are eighth in the all-time Premier League table and have the ninth-highest total of major honours won by an English club with 11 wins. The club's top goal scorer is Alan Shearer, who scored 206 goals in all competitions between 1996 and 2006. Andy Cole holds the record for the most goals scored in a season: 41 in the 1993-94 season in the Premier League. Shay Given is the most capped international for the club, with 134 appearances for Republic of Ireland. Alan Shearer returned for one more season in the 2005-06 season. This last season saw him break Jackie Milburn's 49-year-old record of 200 goals for Newcastle United when he netted his 201st strike in a home Premier League fixture against Portsmouth on 4 February 2006, becoming the club's highest-ever league and cup competition goal scorer with 201 goals altogether. On 17 April 2006, Shearer suffered a tear to the medial collateral ligament in his left knee after a collision during a 4-1 win at Sunderland in which he scored his 206th and final goal in what was his 395th appearance for the club.
    St James' Park is a football stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is the home of Premier League club Newcastle United F.C. With a seating capacity of 52,305 seats, it is the eighth largest football stadium in England. St James' Park has been the home ground of Newcastle United since 1892 and has been used for football since 1880. Throughout its history, the desire for expansion has caused conflict with local residents and the local council. This has led to proposals to move at least twice in the late 1960s, and a controversial 1995 proposed move to nearby Leazes Park. Reluctance to move has led to the distinctive lop-sided appearance of the present-day stadium's asymmetrical stands. Besides club football, St James' Park has also been used for international football, at the 2012 Olympics, for the rugby league Magic Weekend, rugby union World Cup, Premiership and England Test matches, charity football events, rock concerts, and as a set for film and reality television.

    Thanks for the update Mitch, take care and keep out of the Middle east sun. No matter who we sell or buy its still way better than the Ashley era think a few should remember that

    Interesting take. You can’t expect folk to not voice our discontent when we at last identify top young talent and then sell them when there are at least half a dozen players that are not good enough in the existing squad. You can’t expect folk to not voice our discontent when the hight of our ambition is injury ravaged free signing and forward who has far worse stats than Wood who we sold. Can’t expect folk to not voice our discontent when people say trust the recruitment team but we bust FFP by signing players we didn’t need and failed to address the two main weak areas of our squad, CF and RW. I really enjoy watching all the lads on NUFC Matters and reading the folk who comment and everyone’s opinion is as valid as the next and that is why we love the game. My faith in the plan comes from working extensively in the Mid East and in partnership with Saudis, they are proud people who won’t accept failure.👍

    First time I've come across your channel. What a sensible and common sense guy you are. This was a welcome change from the typical ragebait outrage, reactionary culture that largely exists on socials and why I'm not on most of them anymore and rarely watch football content outside of games. You got yourself a new sub.
    DCL links were surprising but fully behind the club. A DCL playing for Newcastle under Eddie Howe with players providing service and quality behind him in Bruno and Tonali with players like Gordon and a new right winger alongside him occupying space and dragging men off him will be a totally different DCL than the one we see at Everton.

    I can't understand ppl losing their shit over selling a player most of us have never even seen play but I can understand the disappointment at us trying to sign DCL as he's so injury prone and shite

  • @alanthompson3780
    @alanthompson3780 4 месяца назад +2

    I think Mitch 90 % of the fan base would be against the DCL sighing and have doubt s but on reflection we have to way up way up Wilson £20 million 50 goals injury prone !!...DCL £20 million if reports are right ...if he gets 50 goals for us then will it be such a bad deal for a injury prone striker ???

  • @paulrobson4708
    @paulrobson4708 3 месяца назад +1

    Surely if we can get rid of Wilson and Miggy it wouldn't be necessary to sell Mintah
    It's a shame we are talking abt buying Lewin who is neck and neck with Wilson in the injury stakes

    Well said Mitch, too many in the fanbase lose their shit over a footballer who's never kicked a ball for us. Imagine the headloss if Twitter existed when we sold Andy Cole to the Mancs? PSR is a joke though. I'm for regulated spending but why don't they have a reset after 3 years rather than a rolling period. The current levels means clubs that have breached PSR are scratching around for years to get on the right side. A reset would give clubs a chance to get their act together

    Wouldn’t be listening to any of these rumours. Also if Eddie wants a player surely we need to trust him as he hasn’t done us wrong yet with any of the signings

    • @stephennutkin2477

      PSR will destroy the Premiere league as clubs then think about a break away which is ironic because the Prem changed the rules by request of certain clubs who threatened to start a Super League .
