    You know the game is full of tension when there's a lot of 'Let's take it back!' by Mato.

    After all these games with Schlechter i can understand better when mato said " before Tal there was Schlechter". He was a genius attacker.

    Some of these Schlechter games should be memorized. They're Fun-the-Mental.

    Walter was punished more than criminals for grabbing just 1 pawn. Walter thinking : i would rather be a thief than playing chess

    I am not a e4 player at all, but I must admit that this is really tempting to try in blitz. Very nice tactics.

    The lesson is to play 8...Bxc3 rather than Nxc3, theory has shown that it gives black an advantage.

    Qd6 taking the rook is better than Knight F7.

    Instead of pawn c7 taking the pawn on d6, why not take it with bishop?

  • @threethrushes

    Mato, good analysis, just rather too fast for my liking.
    In such a complicated position, I would like to spend a bit more time - because it is such a whirlwind otherwise!

    • @TSgitaar
      @TSgitaar 5 лет назад +4

      This game is not really that complicated, its very straightforward and tactical. You can also watch it again or pauze if you don't understand the position right away. I don't think this is meant as an analysis btw, its basically just the moves with a nice story. Like Mato has been doing for many years.

    Perhaps Carl didn't win against Emanuel Lasker ... weil er ein schlechter Spieler war?

  • @zztop3137

    It would be interesting to see how many moves Magnus Carlsen would need to win over these old masters ......7, 11, 22 .... yes , if a time machine was available ---

      I don't think he would win in the middlegame. He would trade down to a favorable endgame and win there with his greater technique.
