'An abundance of ratchets'.....I like the way you're thinking there. My first socket set was 1/2" drive and as a teenager I didn't know anything smaller existed. My first 1/4 drive was a Japanese copy of the standard Snap on chrome handle and I fell in love with it...still got it and still use it alongside the real thing.
Excellent video.👍 Only wish I saw this a few days ago... I was using a 3/8 drive on a 12mm fastener, as I was timid that one of my 1/4 drive ratchets might be inappropriate because of torque limitations. Well, all worked out--but it would have been easier given the tight squeeze if using my 1/4" S-O swivel head.
Hey I recently found an old brand new Snap-On S6172 13MM do you have anymore odd ball looking wrenches like these? If so make a vod on them they sure are pretty.
I have a 1/4 inch body 3/8th drive koken ratchet that I love. It’s useful for all sorts of situations where you using tap drivers or torx sockets thst really don’t need much torque but aren’t 1/4 drive sockets. I also find myself putting a normal 3/8th 10mm socket on it and using it the same as any other 1/4 ratchet.
Heh, I have two of those SO 1/4 sized drives with the 3/8 head because, well, why not have two of the things you barely use right? I have to say that the only place I have used them are on motorcycles and the engine is still in place. Just those odd metric metric nuts in very tight spaces on the newer Italian sportbikes where ,without them, I'd really contemplate pulling the entire thing out if it's that important.
The important thing to know is what a 1/4 inch drive can't do.
What do you mean? I can torque down my lug nuts with a 1/4” drive 🤪
@@_P0tat07_ Of course you can. Grab a cheater!

It is a journey of exploration. Learning what is out there and how to use it.
@@eightpenny6379144 position husky 1/4 is great. Same for the 1/2. But the 3/8 needs the springs trimmed. Too much drag.
I build prototype racecars for a living and I use quarter drive on everything except suspension and brakes. 1/4 the world!
I hear ya
Theres magnetic 1/4 to 3/8 adapters that are super thin and cheap! Check them out! Super handy in tight spots
1/4 pull bar snap on love that we yoke
Check out some Koken ratchets...
Yes they are nice for sure
But there was 9/32 drive before the 1/4....🔥🔥
Don't forget 1/8th drive.
Dont forgwt the 1/4 drive fingetip spinner ratchet. It has saved me many times.. also the 3/8s drive palm ratchet.
👍😊 Thanks for the video. Are you in Canada? Just curious. Thanks.
Yes

I will push my tools to breakage to see where the limits are. Of course I an not foolish, but you have to try in order to learn.

Gearwrench makes the long flex head. It is great for timing cover bolts.
