The splash shield attaches to that screw cog thing (sorry, long day). The piece that screws on the end of the attachment and holds the grater in place. You'll find the shield fits right on the ridges.

@@charlottebee9840 it wasn't very much. Cold cheese is better to prevent that. I can post a picture next time I use it. 🙂
