    Raised by my French Canadian Memere, the French language is "in my heart and spirit. When I had the blessing of traveling throughout the regions of France, I realized a homesickness in my soul that had always been there. Memories of singing with my Memere Sur Le Ponte D'Ava….. While actually being there... What an emotional moment.

    Bonjour et merci pour la leçon. La première paire d'exemples m'a amusé, car peu de temps avant de regarder cette vidéo, je lisais un livre humoristique dans lequel un homme a été enfermé hors du château qu'il visitait et a été forcé de monter par une fenêtre. J'ai immédiatement pensé: "Il est entré par la fenêtre parce qu'il avait pas de clé à mettre dans la serrure."

    Transitive verb- lay carpet (do it to something)
    Intransitive- lie down (do it generally)
    Reflexive- wash myself (do it to yourself)
    Transitive verb is the short way of saying "direct object afterwards."

  • @lohphat
    @lohphat 5 лет назад +1

    The terminology in most Romance and Germanic languages is usually conveyed as either a transitive verb (via to have) or intransitive verb (via to be).
    Transitive verbs convey action to an object. i.e. the verb "transfers" its action elsewhere.
    Intransitive verbs only convey a change of state of the subject. i.e. the action "stays put."
    English used to do the same thing but was lost in Middle English but still exists in archaic religious phrases such as "He is risen."

    • @scottmiller2687

      Nope, I put two P's on purpose. Partir and passer both use être if there is no direct object following them. Technically, you could add another D for the verb décéder which is a euphemism for mourir.

    Isn't another distinction with être an implication of movement? The real problem I've been having is with de, à, and leaving the whole verb intact. I still haven't seen a good explanation for that one anywhere!

      Shawn Dillard J’ai oublié mon parapluie donc je redescendais l’escalier pour le prendre.
      1. When describing events took place in past, use passé composé with imparfait.
      2. In passé composé when using avoir, the verb ends with é and doesn’t need to agree with the subject.
      3. Mon parapluie is a direct object here so use le as a direct pronoun for les noms masculins .

    6:15
    Question.
    Alors, on va dit "on est sorti(e)s" avec 's'? Mais, la conjugaison du verb avec 'on' n'est pas en troisième personne du singulier ? Pourquoi utiliser le pluriel ?

    • @ZoltanOctoro
      @ZoltanOctoro 5 лет назад +1

      Parce que "on" est utilisé pour remplacer la 1ère personne du pluriel (nous) et, à ce titre, "on" ici signifie 'plusieurs personnes'. D'où "on est sorti(e)s".
