Now that I really look at their friendship moments, it kinda reminds me of kow Katsuki interacts with his mom. Of course out of the two parents Izuku is more timid like Masaru (not sure if that's the correct spelling), however he does have moments of stubbornness and aggression during the war arc and during his vigilante phase before coming back to UA. He also has a small attitude twoards his mom when things don't work out how he prefers. Most of the time he's kind and reckless, thinking of everyone else before himself and rushing into danger headfirst. I just hope that later in the show his friends, family, and teachers help him and show him to prepare for situations and ask for help.
