do not be too hard on yourself. you worked hard on your English and it is fine. you also narrate fine. sometimes you meet up with over picky people. do not ever let such people get to you. thanks for the tutorial!
Thanks for the encouragement! It's been a few years since I came back here to read the comments, I feel like I have matured enough to not get mad at the comments because the Singaporean accent is really unique and incomprehensible to many. Hence, I added subtitles to this video to help the viewers!
Why does he have to work hard on his English? English is the first language in Singapore. Any fool would know that so those critics are living in another world or are illiterate. They should say that he should work on his accent.
You prolly dont care at all but does anyone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Shane Jackson Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The CAM mod isn't a cheat, but rather a kind of DLC that a kind of art. Also the dutch housing mod is a piece of beauty that doesn't affect the game but rather reskins it.
Kohjx, I just started playing this game. I have watched all your tutorial to date. I have never played the Sim franchise and your tutorial did allow me to better understand the dynamic of the game. I am still struggling a lot, but learning! Thank you for your wonderful videos and being so thorough with your explanations. Looking forward to more of your work!
You really went into all the details to explain the topic and your English is great! Totally understood all the concepts. Am enjoying the game and I really like watching Simcity 4 videos such as yours. :) Thank you!
Get the transport infrastructure up early. If not, be brave and demolish congested roads to build avenues, add bus stops, and subways in dense regions. For new sections of your city, lay out the rails and monorails before you do the zoning.
I have a city with 850 000 inhabitants, and do not have the skyscrapers you have. I also have issues expanding the city - it doesn't want to populate when I create more resident zones. Even when there is demand on commercial the already existing is neither upgrading, nor building new.
I noticed you have some more various buildings in the lists, for instance, you had 2 extra firestations. Can you tell me how did you get those? Thanks for the vid!
Eldars Eivazovs Unfortunately, I forgot their names. You can head to htt p:/ /simtropolis .com /stex (no space) and search for "fire station", or anything that you think of. You will need an account to download the files, and the files must specifically be for SC4 and not SC2013. I think page 5 has some pretty good fire stations! For some of my buildings, you can pause my video and search for their names.

Hey, really awesome work of yours!! But I think that you really don't have to excuse yourself that much regarding your language, sure you got some accent but it's absolutely understandable, even if I'm not a native english speaker. I don't understand why people just feel the urge to whine just because it's noticeable that it's not your native language. Stand up for yourself! :) But I must admit it's a lot to take in in this tutorial, but I'll guess it takes time to learn all that stuff. Keep it up!
Im new to the game and I have a few questions... 1. When do you lower the high wealth office taxes? 2. How come noone is using the train stations i built? 3. The residential is well connected with the commetcial and industrial areas , but still sims abandon the buildings. Why? 4. The demand for high wealth offices is high but they only build small offices. The area is well watered the kand value is good. The neighbouring city has a lot of high wealth residents. Also my high tech industry is very developed... P. S. You make great videos. I liked and subscribed. Keep it up.
Actually I still play it :D but my cities seems boring and lacks originality since there is less room for design. I have some old pre-recorded clips that I might publish in the future. The main thing I like about SC2013 is the specialization industries. I saw some mods for road/highways, but can't really wrap my head around them yet!
kohjx422 You should have a look at the RUclips channel "Yuttho", his style kinda reminds me of your style. Maybe he could inspire you a bit in the designing aspect. Would really like to see you make 2013 cities as beautiful as you make these sc4 cities. Either way its fine tho:) good luck with everything
SPRITZGEBACK Unfortunately, I have too many buildings/mods in my game. This video of mine watch?v=-9B4Kv3Sh7g has some of the older but nice buildings I downloaded, and you could pause this tutorial video when I query the buildings to search for their names on htt p:/ /simtropolis .com /stex (no space, requires an user account). I also use the Network Addon Mod (NAM) which is very useful!
Unfortunately, it's a large collection of buildings over the years. You will have to search on Simtropolis website to slowly download them, and for a small fee of $15 or so, you can download an entire pack of beautiful buildings from them to use. I have an older video that I mentioned what mods I downloaded and you can search the names of the nice buildings on Simtropolis to download them.
My first attempts at my first city I've hit 50k population and my city is starting to suffer. Traffic is horrendous and people are starting to not work because of it hahaha
You need to make many cities in the region first (one of each side of the main city minimally) to get your regional population up to at least 300,000. In these cities, you restrict high-tech industry growth and commercial office growth by using high taxes, then finally you get to your main city and voila the good demand is high before you even build anything.
+Renier Gardner Agulay this website might help you, community.simtropolis.com/files/category/1-simcity-4-buildings/?page=1 (browse through the pages) and some of the buildings I use are mentioned in this old video ruclips.net/video/X7RN4jFcuFg/видео.html
I am baffled that people are commenting with the way he speaks English. It couldnt have been any clearer to me. He is from Singapore. I could imagine it is mountain dwellers in English speaking countries are the ones making preposterous comments saying they cant understand anything.
Thank you, it's really the typical Singaporean accent and I don't blame the comments. Definitely could have done the video in a more ang moh accent but that's not really being true to myself. Regardless, I took a few hours off my schedule and added subtitles for all!
You will need the Network Addon Mod (NAM) from Simtropolis to have this option. Alternatively, you can build an octagonal roundabout by using one way street and putting a road tile directing east, a diagonal 45 degrees SE, a road south, and continue in clockwise direction until you get a "circle" (more like an octagon). It's all about creativity!
I don't blame you as I explained it in the video, but I did not use any demand hacks. As the regional population is very high, I restricted growth of high-tech and office buildings in other cities with high taxes so that the main city will already have a large "spillover demand" when I started it. Also, feel free to check my older tutorials/videos where I do not use any mods at all!
Thanks for the encouragement! It's been a few years since I came back here to read the comments, I feel like I have matured enough to not get mad at the comments because the Singaporean accent is really unique and incomprehensible to many. Hence, I added subtitles to this video to help the viewers!

There is no other way, either have neighbour cities(more than 1 assume) to increase demand like hell or use mods... I didn't watch this tutorial second by second(skipped over a lot), but judging bu the constant high of the RCIs he has one of those two to boost the demand. On a new city standalone city without mods, he can't have true commercial skyscrappers at before like 150K people(one can have 3k pop residential for $ and $$ before that), or fairly tall office buildings(but not OG USA skyscrappers - let say EU skyscrappers). Does not have the linked commercial size, nor educated population. Cut the amount of blue zones which fall in good land value to support taller buildings(make sure they have very good police/health/fire dep+many park/plazas, also having power very close to the ceiling of provision can also affect demand - building for 300+people need a fair amount of it - let say excess of 1k power/water provisioning), you need at least tier 2 airport + stock exchange+expo center. The Landmarks section also boost (i.e hollywood sign, hollywood plaza, empire state building etc - they increase mayor rating but also I think affect CO$$/$$$ demand).

😕 But which language you speak? At first, you say hello to people, in english, and after this it is impossible to understand what you say, but sometimes, just one word here and there) - 😬
I know of high demand hacks, but the high demand for the city arose because of the high regional population even before I started this city, not from hacks of any kind. There were like 4 more cities of this size beside this city before I started on this. I restricted growth of high-tech and office buildings in other cities with high taxes so that the main city will already have a large "spillover demand" when I started it. Also, some of the industrial buildings I downloaded has higher density than the Maxis ones so that definitely helped in the large industrial growth at the start.
It's indeed an unique accent only Singaporeans, Malaysians and other Asians can understand. Regardless, I took some time to add subtitles for the video and for future viewers!
Neither can I XD, jk you can read the description for more information, and watch the older tutorials in my description where I speak more slowly. Otherwise, there's many other videos out there as well!
Agree to disagree, depends on what mods you want to download. If it's just new commercial and industrial buildings for the sake of variety for the city, I'll say the challenge is still there. Also, the transport capabilities, like the bus stop capacity for Maxis is really shitty so I'm not sure if you just want to stick to that. Still, I acknowledge I had some useful mods during my commentary, like the air purification parks, bus stops and high density industries, since my aim was just to build a large and beautiful city. No demand hacks though, just spillover demand from nearby cities. If you want to build everything organically, it's definitely possible!
You speaking pace as like as you have it right here is alright. However, you should try to improve your general fluency and pronunciation. Try practice with natives. Or may be there is a kind of private union / society near you where they practice speaking English. Nonetheless I DO have much more respect for people who are aware of their "lacking" in English and try to adapt their speaking (as like as you do) than for those arrogant morons who are natives and either try to pack way over 600 spoken syllables into only one minute or who pretend to be professional narrators. These people are much more annoying than somebody like you who has a thick accent but tries to be clearly though. So, just continue as like as you do, it's well done. Just out of curiosity, what's your mother tongue? (PS I am non native, too). . As to you clip: If people don't get what you do, they should download the clip and then use slow motion by the player. .
Thank you, I appreciate your comment! My accent is hard to change and if I spoke slower and with a foreign accent, it would have been a 2 hour video for this content and no one would watch that length. It might shock you that I have native fluency in English because we are taught English throughout our education lives in Singapore, along with Mandarin as well. Since only Singaporeans and Malaysians will understand my quirky accent properly, I have decided to add subtitles to this video to help the viewers!
Which mods do you have issues with? Let me know because it would be good for me to improve as well! I did acknowledge all the mods that I use along the way and gave viewers the choice whether to use it or not. It is still possible to build a nice city without any mods as I did in my older videos and tutorials.
Where are you from? My accent is pretty usual for people living in Singapore and is pretty hard to change. Anyway, I have took some effort to make subtitles for this video, hope it helps!
do not be too hard on yourself. you worked hard on your English and it is fine. you also narrate fine. sometimes you meet up with over picky people. do not ever let such people get to you. thanks for the tutorial!

Thanks so much for this video. I learned a lot from it and I won't have as much trouble with my cities as I did before after watching this.

from the start of the video from your accent i know you're either Malaysian or Singaporean. btw, nice vid!
