    Hi
I prefer the 1997 Roger Glover remix of Machine Head.
    Take care.

I hope Deep Purple follows Pink Floyd's example and releases a stand-alone copy of the Blu-ray at some point. I don't collect box sets but I would buy the Blu-ray. 👍

I hope so too. I personally won’t need it, but I want others like you to be able to get it without having to buy a whole set.

Got my copy of this boxset in the mail today. Like you did, the first thing I listened to was the 2024 remix. Right off the bat you can tell the difference. This remix is very good in my opinion and will be getting repeated listens. I also agree that it does make you feel like your listening to the album for the first time again. Now I'm waiting for the Robin Trower "Bridge of Sighs" Super Deluxe to come next month.

Does it include Pat Boones version of Smoke on the Water
    Dweezil nailed that version😅

Dweezil's remix has certainly grown on me too. Might have to try out When a Blind Man Cries before Space Truckin' myself. One thing I distinctly noticed with the B-side was the vocal layering on the last verse. That took me by surprise!
Dunno if I'll pick up this set, so I'll also keep my fingers crossed for a standalone Bluray. Nice review! Ritchie years ago also talked about getting Rainbow Rising remixed due to the lack of bass. Hope it still sees the light of day!

I received my copy a few weeks back. Dweezel Zappa's remix is awesome. I have to be honest and say that the 1974 Quad mix is a little thin.

YES! I was cautious at first, but it now I think the remix just CRANKS! But this new mix in no way diminishes the original for me.

@TJRtheOriginal agreed, both are very good, and one doesn't overshadow the other. It just boils down to which one you want to hear at the given moment.

Hi TJR, firstly Machine Head is my other favourite LP of all time (the other is Abbey Road). The lyric poster did come with the original LP release, however it has purple writing on white, the opposite of this new version. The remix is very interesting. The bass sounds seem to vary depending on where one sits in front of the speakers. I have played the 2024 Remaster CD and wow this sounds vibrant compared to the original Australian stereo pressing I have. I know it's CD vs vinyl but I bought that stereo pressing last year and was VERY disappointed with its flat sound. It sounds like a band playing behind a closed door or with a tarpaulin thrown over them. There's an album wanting to burst out. Compared to my SQ version which I grew up with all these years, the latter has a wider sound stage with Gillan's vocals more centred. The new remaster isn't much different aside from double tracked vocals either side in the stereo image. I haven't had a chance to hear all of the other discs yet. Wish they'd included the 5.1 surround for the WHOLE album, not just the 3 tracks. I'm still working my way through it. Oh I left the shrinkwrap on mine by just cutting the plastic on the opening slot. Surprised people just tear it off lol. Cheers from Sydney Australia mate.

Jeez The things these record companies come up with to keep people buying the same music over and over and over and over again!! Maybe a red vinyl colored version next year Maybe another version of Dark Side Of The Moon????

The Roger Water's Dark Side of the Moon is a personal artistic project. I highly doubt it was a marketing maneuver.
Besides, there's a ton of new music always. It's peoples problem if they keep buying the same over and over again.
