    • @jaydrives4878

      Thanks! I did not necessarily pick the manual transmission. It's was my current company car that was assigned to me so I did not have any say in the spec of it. I would have much rather preferred this car in an automatic. The manual does not really suit the car.

    Nice video, and nice review!
    I am considering this car, as a new family member is on the way. :)
    Can you give some more details about problems, price of spares, etc?
    Thank you!

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
      I've had the car for the last year as a company lease. That means that all costs for maintanance are not payed by me. However, this 1.5DCI (K9K) is a very reliable engine. It's been around for years in multiple Renault models and has proven to be very reliable. In my 1 year of ownership I've had no issues or errors. Just the regular maintanance.
      If you have any specific questions let me know! :)

    Hi! Good video! So you've said it's your car for about a year. Can you tell us about car maintenance in services. Something broke in car in that year, how much does it coasts?
    Thx!

    • @jaydrives4878
      @jaydrives4878  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! It's difficult for me to set a price on maintanance costs. Because it was my company car I never had to pay for maintanance. However, in the year I've driven it, it has proven to be very reliable. Nothing really broke in the 1 year of ownership. Only the regular maintanance. Cheers

      @@jaydrives4878 nice to hear it. Wanna buy talisman 1.5 mt grandtour this year, the used one. Looking for some sort of info that could help me to understand for what I must be prepared. What warranty plan talisman has? (150.000 or 3 years?)

    • @jaydrives4878
      @jaydrives4878  3 года назад +1

      In regards to the reliability of this combination of the 1.5DCi and 6 Speed MT it's, I think, on of the most reliabable combinations. The K9K (1.5DCi) has been around for many years and they have, pretty much, taken out all the issues. It's very reliable. I used to own a 2011 Laguna 3 with the same 1.5DCi and it also brought me no issues in 1 year and 40.000KM. What I've read online is that the Talisman only sometimes has issues with the 6 Speed EDC (Automatic Dual Clutch) which brakes sometimes. Warranty I am not sure. Depens on the country if I'm not mistaken. They do offer, I think, 12 years body work warranty (rust for instance). Good luck with your purchase!

    Was the leather interior standard(from factory)? I only know of black, white(light grey) and dark brown leather but i haven't seen this "cognac" color anywhere

    • @jaydrives4878
      @jaydrives4878  3 года назад +1

      As far as I know this car came standard with just the black cloth interior. The person who specced it made the dealer put in the cognac leather. It should have been an "accessory" option to have it fitted by the dealer at a later stage. I've personally never seen another Talisman with this option and I think it off-set the interior nicely with the black exterior. Cheers!

    Hi, I'm planning to buy Renault Talisman, I'm thinking about 1.6 160HP, yet I would prefer manual gear box tbh, yet I'm a bit afraid of reliability of renault so as diesel engine, can u tell me something about it? Like 110HP is enough for trips to job and like to other cities and is it possible to confidently overtake other vehicles?

    • @jaydrives4878
      @jaydrives4878  2 года назад

      Hi, the reliability of these cars is actually pretty good. I think also the 1.6 Petrol is fine. The EDC (Dual-Clutch Automatic) gearbox should be pretty reliable. Regarding this setup, the 1.5DCI with a manual, very reliable combination. Probably the most reliable if you ask me. The 1.5DCI (K9K) has been around for many years and it does not suffer from any major issues. The 110BHP is plenty to go around town, cruise on the highway and overtake. Do keep in mind the riding the torque curve is probably the best thing to do with these. And anticipate your overtakes ofcourse. I won't win you any drag races but with about 11 seconds to 100 it isn't that slow either. Be sure to take a test-drive and judge for yourself :)

    • @Labanaktis404
      @Labanaktis404 2 года назад +1

      @@jaydrives4878 Main thing is that in my country and I think many others Renault isn't really reliable brand, also I've had bought Renault megane for my mother and i'm not sure what engine were there, and it had whole fuel system virus of metal scraps or so... so RIP... Not only that I've had few more diesel engines, and all of those sucked a lot... EGR, Injectors, fuel pumps and etc. while now I've got S60 Volvo petrol one, and I haven't spent a penny for engine, besides oil change same tbh with whole vehicle overall :D So in conclusion I'm looking for stylish vehicle , which wouldn't require 12l/100km and reliable one.. and talisman seems the one, but there's a lot different opinions.. Like u're advising 110HP , while others suggest 160HP for more power, plus 2 turbines are standing there, instead of one, and as other say that one turbine mostly gets faulty, yet I would prefer mechanic gear box, but those 110HP idk idk :D like in this time of loads speed cameras, there's really no point to have powerful engine

    • @jaydrives4878
      @jaydrives4878  2 года назад

      @@Labanaktis404 Ah you meant the 1.6 Diesel. I thought you were talking about the 1.6 Petrol one. 1.6DCI I'm not sure about the reliability either. Renault did also used to have a bad name in my country. Due to their cars mostly having many issues in the 80s/90s. I've personally had 2 Renaults with this 1.5DCI. One was a Renault Laguna 3 (very good option, known for being highly reliable due to the overkill on the engineering for the 3rd generation) with on the Laguna about 30.000KM in a year and this Talisman about 35.000KM in a year. Never had any major issues. Power wise it's indeed not the fastest but it suited me fine to be honest. And I do like driving a bit faster compared to most. Maybe also look at the Laguna 3 Phase 2 with the 1.5DCI or 2.0DCI (also very reliable), great car, great audio system and also available with 4-Control (4 wheel steering). Good luck!

    In my country , the number of manual gearbox Talisman is just about %10 of the total Talisman "popuilation" !!! Almosty a rarity. Manual boxes are even far less amongst Passat and Insignia.

    God, you re driving below 2000rpm, that is ruining you dpf and turbo

    • @jaydrives4878
      @jaydrives4878  3 года назад

      The car gets its peak torque from 1750 to 2500 RPM. Staying between the range is what the car prefers and what drives best. Punching it to 4000 RPM happens every now and again. So no harm should be done.

    • @DrBeast100
      @DrBeast100 3 года назад

      @@jaydrives4878 ok, fine, but you are not between that interval. You are almost all the time under 1500, which is not good, even for a naturally aspirated petrol engine. You should drive at least 1800 rpm when there is no load on the engine(flat road) and least 2200 rpm in other situations. That will make all of the assemblies of the engine(turbocharger, fuel injectors, dpf...) to be in good shape for a long time.
