Feast and hymn of Santa Liberata 2024 - Francavilla al Mare (CH) ABRUZZO

The feast of Santa Liberata of Francavilla al Mare (CH) is celebrated every year on May Day. The celebration begins in the morning at around 8am with the departure of the Procession with the statue of the Saint from the parish church to the Michetti district where the Holy Mass is celebrated. The procession continues at sea with the embarkation of the statue which, positioned by sailors on a boat, is accompanied by other fishing boats and runs along the Francavilla riviera. Upon disembarking near the pier near the Sirena, in the presence of the community, a moment of prayer and reflection follows. The procession starts again by land together with the authorities, the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, the Francavilla "Crispino Michetti" Band, the Navy, the Unitalsi and the children of the Parish. The next stop is at the War Memorial where, with a solemn moment on the part of the civil and religious authorities, the wreath is laid and the sailor's prayer is read. The Procession continues along the sea and then continues along Viale Nettuno, where there are 2 moments of blessing and reflection, and finally returns to the parish church where the solemn Holy Mass is celebrated. In this video we see the May Day 2024 celebration with footage and photos from the ground and with the drone. The music that accompanies the images is the hymn of Santa Liberata sung by the parish choir.
