The problem with dead code is that after a while it starts to “smell bad.” The older it is, the stronger and the sourer the odor becomes.
The other day I was talking to my ex-colleague and he told me that while working on a new feature, he had to refactor a lot of code that ultimately increased the scope of the work. He had to handle so many edge cases only to realize at the end that he was dealing with dead code 😂
