They're actually have a good synergy. Tenyi give different attributes for fusion material. Aleister + Tenyi can summon the Link-2 Aleister Madness, and the discard cost from Aleister Link-2 isn't really a problem for Tenyi.

You know what? I kinda dont mind this. 1 monster negate and 2 banish (maybe 2 more destruction effects if they manage to also get evil Longyuan out) is way better to go against than Yubel/Unchained or Snake eyes/Fire king. Genuinely sick of seeing combinations of the same 3 or 4 decks in every single duel.
In current meta i think Qixing Longyuan is better choice,banish 1 Spell / Trap + Special Summoned monster with 1,2k burn each (plus OG Longyuan burn when used for Synchro) is nice

I like that you only get the terraforming effect in a wyrm deck. and technically moye isn't even a 1-card combo because she makes a token that doesn't go to the grave. I like this support wave it's very well designed
I think we are at a point were Wyrm Synchro is Dragon Link 2.0. Cards are wyrm specific, they build a cohesive strategy (Lvl 8/10 Synchros), strong non-generic boss monsters and now they get what was missing most, extenders when mo ye gets impermed. Would love for Tenyis get one or two more cards and I hope Swordsoul can finally get a playable card that's not from the 1st wave of support
Swordsoul Tenyi is back on the menu boyz
As an avid Tenyi player (pure Tenyi) since 2019, this support is just so good for the deck. The new lv4 fixes many of the issues of the deck of having not enough starters (having only Ashuna) but it also, accelerates the deck's best cards out of the deck, something that until now completely relied on them being drawn. Like Josh said, the best moments of the deck are in a grind game, since the deck can just hold to dear life and deal with the opponent cards in all kinds of fashion. This support just improves in every single part of the deck BUT, there is a huge issue (at least as a pure version of the deck pertains), we still do have not a good enough turn 1, the deck now is sooooo close, but we need at least one more interaction during the opponent turn, it's a shame none of the new cards searches the counter trap or, gives an extra effect to a link or synchro (something like return a banish wyrm/tenyi to the deck to do X, or something).

Yeah ending on a towers and maybe some random traps you drew just isn't quite there yet. That said it mixes so well with other Wyrm archetypes still that trying to be a standalone deck might not be necessary.
Before this support, at least I can setup the Link-4 and Denglong with counter trap, then the Yang Zing engine can summon another synchro after you use the counter trap. But this deck is still better for going 2nd.
I wonder if when a monster card that could special itself were used as link material, could special again from grave would help? Like a decode talker type of effect.
@@lexfrost98 It would be Ok, but that wouldn't fix the issues with the deck. Maybe a new monster that when used as link material for a non-effect monster or a tenyi. monster you can search a trap that mentions a wyrm monster

i like how when new support for old archetypes is made the first thing they think about is how to remove the archetype gimmick without removing the archetype gimmick. non effect monsters never heard of them, this always was just generic wyrm

My point though is Blue-Eyes is getting something like 18+ slots that can lead to searching any field. Seems like a design decision Konami is relaxing quite a bit on.
Sad how Tenyi Mula Adhara somehow became the second card that gives Swordsoul and Icejades the synergy their lore described.
(The first and only synergy being that they all summon a water tuner)

Tenyi and Swordsoul are synonims at this point, cool support that increases swoswo ceiling a bit, may do sth in a regio but it's still not enough. Let's hope we get yang zing support at some point

6:28 Hi Josh, there is a Searchable Spellcaster that can be used for Secret Village in Swordsoul : The Iris Swordsoul
SS Tenyi struggles with draw power outside of Chixiao, Sinister and Mo-ye which slows the deck down. So having these field spells more accessible gives this deck a much needed boost to see more interruptions or combo pieces for the follow up turn.
If you somehow get Aegrine and the Tenyi link 4 onto the field at the same time with a couple tokens on the field your entire board becomes immune to card effects and cannot be destroyed until the tokens are dealt with, so if you somehow figure out a way to continually generate tokens every turn this could actually be kinda crazy
Wait wait hang on, what happens if you do normal Tenyi combo ending on the new synchro, link 3 non-effect and link 4, then do a mikanko play and play the mikanko field spell? Is your opponent just locked? Sahasrara makes it so they can only attack non-effect monsters, but mikanko field makes it so they HAVE to attack monsters equipped with equip cards. (the only reason why I'm thinking about mikankos here is because I kinda thought the new main deck tenyi looked like a mikanko card when I first saw it)

Yep although any form of spell/trap removal or non-targeting monster removal would out the lock so it's kinda fragile by modern yugioh standards
I think makanko needs you to have an equip on a monster, but yes it would stop attacking, but make you vulnerable to effects in exchange. If you want to lock out attacks it would be better to summon cyberse quantum dragon.
I used to do a similar lock with the link 4 and Avramax pre-swordsoul Tenyi!
You have to be very careful of the Ashuna lock. Otherwise you're good to go.
The ability to search any field can let you slot this into the new tri type deck with the Wyrm
This makes the tear hit in MD a lot of sense

The link-4 is easy to summon because we have Mare Mare. Before this support, usually I can end with Link-4 Tenyi and Denglong with counter trap and the follow up; Yang Zing engine can summon another synchro after you use the Counter trap. And another 1 Synchro lv. 8 if you hand good. But I understand "Tenyi Pure" don't have enough disruptions because their gimmick are pseudo-tower and board breaking. Because the field spell now is more accessible, Link-4 Sahasrara give protection to all effect monsters if you have non-effect, and Flawless Perfection give protection to Non-effect. Then, we also have more consistent access to Tenyi counter trap too.
The Link-4 is easier to summon because Surya prints it instantly

swordsoul is one of those decks that is strong in good hands. I feel the support does enough to let it compete with the current meta without making it an auto win if your play it. I dont think I would enjoy the deck as much as I do if it was tier 1 or 0 since the fun is beating stronger decks by outplaying them with an older deck. I am so exited for this support since the baronne ban almost wiped swordsoul out competitively but this lets it at least keep up a little better.
If they add more support then great but I hope they don't make it broken

unpopular opinion here: i hope that if tenyi gets more support it makes the sowrdsoul/tenyi meta relevatn again. I find nothing interesting about a pure tenyi deck and the swordsoul variant was what motivated me to go from MD to try irl yugioh, I even accquired a full swordsoul deck that got shit on by everything at the time, but I'd really really like to be able to play that for my meta pick at a regional some day

Time for me to play the wackiest deck ever: Adventure Tenyi Multiverse Ashened.
Adventure has the normal monster and gives the deck nibiru protection
Tenyi gives protection through the new monsters + can search a field spell
Ashened pops field spells while setting up dark hole (but you're immune to it since you're unaffected by card effects)
Multiverse is there since the deck will run set rotation and have a lot of field spells to recycle
I wish tenyi could be played as a standalone deck without swordsoul cards

When made with the new tuner the new 8 is never going to have its second effect offline, useful for pushing through damage going second

I think this lean more towards playing a pure Tenyi deck instead of playing it with Swoswo and i don't mind that at all.
PS: What about a Syncro 11
1 Wyrm Tuner + 1 Non-Tuner Monster that searches the counter on summon and allows you to copy the effect of a Tenyi monster in the GY as quick effect so u can copy Vishuda's eff on the opp turn for a bounce and a final eff that if you control a non-effect monster the card summons itself back from the banishment.

The biggest chokepoint before is Moye or Taia NS being negated. Suiryu now counteract that chokepoint.
And the new Synchro monk gives Swordsoul more tech options to counter matchups. Like Village of Spellcasters, Iris Swordsoul and Ecclesia are both Spellcasters. And finally gives Abyss Swordsoul a target, as Swordsoul had no fieldspells.
Then for the new field spell adding Vessel or Circle makes it so that an additional body can be put onto the board for more interaction.

Tenyi can be played pure. I have went undefeated lots of times with it and generic support. In have tested the jew support. It pushs the protect my castle style even further and easier. U can easy drop 2-3 floodgates turn 1. Which often gives u a auto win. It takes alot to dismantle a true tenyi end board and u get punished for doing so with the tenyi hand & grave monster hand traps. The opponent puts so much into trying to clear ur board. That they dont have enough resources to make a proper board them selves. Also the link 4 is extremely powerful. Not only is ur stuff not targetable. They cant even target themselves with there own card effects 😂 i lost count of how many times my opponent said " why cant i target my own monsters " 😂

I have been using swordsoul metaphys for a while and I love it, but it is by far my weakest deck. I only use it when my friend is trying to test a deck and I want to give him a chance at winning.

The field spell triggers the water tenyi in the gy. So it's not a real cost. You summon back what you popped then pop another card ur opp controls by banishing the water from hand or GY
the water doesn't activate on tribute.

Tbf the only thing saving the deck might be the continuous spell getting into the field spell. That may grant you a somehow realistic way to survive a turn skip I guess.

You do know that is like every other deck? You have a ton of decks that aren't using their own cards. Name a deck that isn't using Bystials or some kinda deck that don't have two decks mixed together lol. I mean look at Snake-eyes people put them with almost anything. Tenyi can function as it's own deck the problem is that it is too slow. Not that they can't be their own deck. They would need better extra deck monsters to help them be great and monsters that can put them back into the GY again. Even quick effects in the GY would be great for Tenyi.

Edit: Already tested the new support in swordsoul and this is very strong. This will be a strong tier 2 deck upon release. Ashuna is a one card combo now. Ashuna + Moye is a crazy end board if your not otking

Surely a generic lv8 synchro that searches any field spell wont become a problem ffs
Please give me exactly one combo line in a deck that isn't Swordsoul or Tenyi that can make that effect live. You won't be searching Secret Village because you're not playing Spellcasters, you won't be searching Necrovalley because it kills the Swordsoul endboard, and you won't be searching Zombie World because it also kills the Swordsoul endboard. The card is balanced.

Josh has no idea how toxic searching any field spell can be. Yeah, Necrovalley is a classic. Yeah Secret Village is definitely toxic. But, Summon Breaker is likely going to stop more decks than Necrovalley and doesn't require any specific monsters like spellcasters.
Can you have different thumbnails rather look straight into the camera.
People always pair Tenyi with swordsoul, but why do people not just pair 2 fallen of albaz into swordsoul so it has the option to super poly
