I did some more testing today in great conditions and it's absolutely worthless video footage. The microphone practically doesn't record any sound except for the sounds of touching it. Even when sitting still, people's faces that are slowly walking by are unrecognizable blur. When moving, it's just worse. With the gyro turned on, the shake is extremely exaggerated and wobbly...and causes eyestrain and headaches watching it. With the gyro turned off, the footage looks much better...not good, but better. If watching the gyro off footage, you'd think...this would probably look ok if you turned on the gyro. I've repacked it, and I'll be trying to send it back tomorrow. I'm just not sure if I should have them send me another one or not. I was really excited for this camera based on the combination of price, specs, and construction. What a major letdown.
Agreed, the quality of the audio are very poor. Don’t know whether sjcam team have plan to update new firmware for better audio quality or not and the gyro itself are not even close to gopro hypersmooth as if it don’t makes any difference either you turn on/off. I’m still in editing process, soon will come out a simple video comparison.
Thanks for the review. Btw is there a way to off the screen while recording to save battery? Or is the view screen automatically on all the time during recording? In ur opinion, is this better than the older SJCAM C100+ ?
I got this and I'm guessing it's defective. I turn the video sound to 100% and can barely hear someone talking to my camera from 20cm away. Also, with the gyro on, the video is so awful and jiggly that it gives me a headache....even just walking.
@@imanrazak3119 FYI: sjcam just told me to open the type c cover on the side for better audio recording...apparently the microphone is under the cover (which is airtight for waterproofing) wtf....?

@WJ I got an osmo pocket for pretty cheap and absolutely love it. Only problem is, you feel like you have to baby it.
