I was all of seven when I listened to this episode with my parents. I'll never forget Tallulah's accent, asking my parents why people sounded like that. Unforgettable.
I have performed this routine so many times over the years, sometimes with others playing Daddy and Snooks, and sometimes I have done all three parts. Tallulah and Snooks: Two people nature never intended to be in the same room together!
How much money I would pay to have the power to go back in time and see the expressions on the faces of the cast while this routine was being done. Some of the best comedy ever done!
WOW.....Thanks for this....Streisand was really born to play the role in Funny Girl. WOW........she was told she was ugly.............I love you STREI>>
I love Tallulah ! But if you ask anyone in there 20s or 30s or 40s Who is Tallulah Bankhead & who is Betty Davis ? You will get a no to Tallulah but a yes to Betty Davis !!!
Fanny Brice who portrayed "Baby Snooks" toward the end of her career was a magnificent singer and comedian who unfortunately had a difficult private life which was portrayed in the later movies "Funny Girl" and "Funny Lady". Barbara Streisand portrayed her in those films. Fanny Brice's most famous recording is "My Man" which wasn't funny but she also recorded some humorous songs as well.
Love Tallulah! She is Absolutely fabulous and this clip is so hilarious.
I suspect Shari Lewis based Lamb Chop on Snooks. FB was great! So was SL.
Classic radio!

Hanley Stafford has awesome comedy timing! Long live his memory!
This was from the second broadcast of "THE BIG SHOW" (November 12, 1950).
You're welcome! Hanley Stafford and Fanny Brice, both pure talent!!! Have a great day!
