It's nice to see someone on here that is ONLY here to perform a classic and to pay hommage to someone who came before him. And using that guys props. P & T must have appreciated that.
byron p Totally agree, awesome performance they should just give him a pass for an act in one of their live shows, or said if there’s not one audience member in here that you didn’t fool we’l give you a FU trophy and a spot in one of our shows....just my opinion, but like you said not just because of the performance but for paying homage and doing a performance he knew wouldn’t fool them but would definitely entertain them and that they could appreciate 👍🏼
@@flogoph13 I sometimes suspect that they give the FU (gotta love that) to some who didn't actually fool them, but were so flawless that they were impressed.
@@byronp2311 It is always given to people who actually fool them. They never give it just because they were "impressed". It's not even their call whether they give a trophy or not, it's the judges call. Before Penn and Teller even engage the performer, they already know if they are getting a trophy or not. All the banter and code is just for show.
@@mikel9567 You may be right. I think I was simply repeating something I read elsewhere. On a somewhat related note, The Apprentice was fully scripted. And not by Trump. He just did his lines. Not that I ever watched the damned thing.
@@mikel9567 do you mean that penn&teller did already see the trick before the show or that the judges decide for/instead of them and penn&teller simply have to do it
I almost feel like the should have a different category for people that aren’t trying to fool them so much as just do a cool trick for everyone. This was really nice.
i don’t care that it’s an old trick that many understand.
the execution is flawless and remains enjoyable no matter how many times i see it.
It's great to see him on Pawn Stars too! He brings so much history to the artifacts. He was able to prove that a straight jacket was actually owned and worn by Houdini.
He's one of my favorite experts from the show.
I really respect Murray, he 100% knew that Penn & Teller would not be fooled by this trick, but he wanted to bring it to the live audience to honor his mentor and make him proud - I really admire that! Honor in show-biz is nearly dead with Hollywood eating itself alive, its refreshing to see this :) Great act BTW, I truly enjoyed it!
Am I the only one who recognizes this guy from Pawn Stars? The one where they called him in to verify the authenticity of a genuine Houdini straight jacket
thats him! he has also been on pawnstars many other times
i remember him from Blind Date!
Lol I was just going to comment and say, I think I know this man, and I was going to ask if it was pawn stars!
oh man.. yes!
.
.
that makes sense though.. since he has all the Hollywoody connections.
.
.
that (Pawn Stars) show and other reality shows (including P&T) aŕe obviously a bit too glissed up and rigged (fake.. to mske it palatable or sensational)
I know. He has been on Pawn Stars. I have been here in Las Vegas for 32 years.
1:56 these expressions says everything XD
I love watching people get to have an opportunity to geek out over something they love. And, I love that Penn and Teller are still down to Earth enough to geek out over a classic act.
It wasn't just the act, though. The fact that those were the original props used is a heck of a treat for them - the magician equivalent of, say, Cal Ripken's jersey when he broke the consecutive games played streak.
@@roguishpaladin You had an opportunity to say the record-breaking ball. But, instead you went with the JERSEY!?
Some tricks are to fool the guys, some are to show off the magician's skills, and some are just to entertain. Glad to see something done just because it's entertaining and how we remember magic growing up. Also good to see a magician whose doesn't need him to fool them to feel fulfilled.
Your intention was never to fool them but rather use this platform to pay homage to your legendary teacher. Great job Sir! Hats off
I love Teller's reaction to the story. What a class act.
It was nice to see the re-presentation of a classic act.
Dude I love this! And mostly I love how you did something that you knew for a fact they knew the method to and prioritized honouring your mentor rather than doing one of your many many tricks that had better odds of fooling them! ❤️
It is more getting his name out. He just came to be on camera, since he could not and didn´t even want to fool anyone...
xXTheBl4ckC4tXx TRUST me Murray very much CAN fool many pros. He chose not to
"Trust me" never sounds trustworthy.
Thought that can very well be the truth.
He didn´t accept a challenge, wasted potential. Better try and fail, than not try at all.
This channel isn't him idiot
Its "honoring" u dumbass
Hey Murray, Roberto here, DAMN, you are professional to the TEE! Only other magician with such grace and class and TRUE showmanship of our time along with David Copperfield. I still think you are highly underrated in the Magic industry, compared to others who call themselves brainfreaks, I applaud you and your talents naturally on stage!
I highly doubt Murray was actually trying to fool Penn & Teller with that simple trick. He likely wanted to pay homage to Mr. Electric mostly.
He literally confirmed it himself
duh
I'm sure he wanted to pay homage, but Murray Sawchuck also has his own show in Vegas. Like when Mac King came on, it's advertising for their shows, plus they're friends of Penn and Teller's.
Or simply to gain more public exposure for himself.
I remember the first time that I saw Marvin & Carol perform this illusion 30 years ago. His style and showmanship will never be forgotten. His lecture was quite interesting as well. He said that he had no problem exposing how he did his illusions since no "young magician" would take the time necessary to try and duplicate it. I am glad that you are keeping part of his act alive. Great tribute and a great job!
That was awesome of you to pay homage to the original magicians and your mentor the way you did
Great performance Murray and what a way to honor your mentor!!!
He looks like a mad scientist version of howie mandel
BILL NY THE SCIENCE GUY
He does and bill Nye's the science and math guy
I was thinking more like Andy Dick
@Philip Tucker that was my immediate thought lol
Always loved Mr Electric, saw him on the Ed Sullivan show as wee kid. Just fantastic when he produced a never ending string of lit lights from his mouth. And with the tech of the 1960's to work with.
Robothut
My father was at Fool Us as a magican. He fooled Penn and Teller, he used a small German gas chamber and gased a kitten, Penn and Teller didn't get the trick, that was because there was no trick, he actually gased the kitten! He fooled Penn and Teller hard!
where can i watch your father's video?
@@tor13128 duh!!
Wonderful homage!
she had that dance, like an old cartoon lol i loved it
I love how te music fits the performance
Your just brilliant Murray. . Great mind great personality the perfect magician in my eyes.. I wish I had your confidence around people as it's something I struggle a lot with.. I'm a practicing magician who keeps failing with nerves around strangers it makes it so difficult.. your an inspiration to me to be better.
That was awesome! It's like a comedian doing some old material again for a new audience to enjoy. Being able to perform these older tricks certainly gives insight into the process of magic and illusion.
Penn's face on the thumbnail should be a meme
When your friend actually pulls off that epic skateboard stunt: 1:56
This is such a heartwarming video! Loved it!
Finally, a five minute video that’s entertaining, compared to the other ten minute ones that doesn’t result in a fool.
You, sir, are a class act. No attempt to fool P&T, just paying homage to a great. Bravo. :-)
The reason this show is so great is because whether the magician fools them or not, every bit is different and SO cool!
While it is always nice to see something totally new created by a magician, I love it when they can perform something that can harken back to the roots of stage magic *_and_* pay homage to older magicians.
I remember Mr Electric his act was fi nominal and I’m so excited to see Marvin Roy’s original props in use once again a great trick but I knew it wasn’t going to fool Penn & Teller but a great trick though
wow....i have see You some times at the Pawn Shop of Rick Harrison, on TV!! and we share one big thing....respect and love for THE KING OF HANDCUFFS.........MISTER HARRY HOUDINI!!
I have always loved this guy..
Its about time that you got on this show!
Awesome job Murray!!!
Beautiful routine, Murray!
Great job, Jean-Claude Van Damme!
Very cool! Respect to his teacher!
I love the fact that he said we learned from the the best musicians that means the Elder ones that taught him and that's the real meaning of life but a lot of us don't take that knowledge to live life at that age that we get told but I was describing start watching continue to follow
I didn't know about this channel before, but now that I do, I'm subscribed! Got milk?
Serious muscles in the assistant's left arm! ;-)
Poor lady had to hold this whole time above her head like it was just an empty bulp :)
I hope your museum got a bump in attendance.
Great job Murray!
That was neatly done
At last a magician who is not with the deck of cards… I get so fed up with cartridge
OMG your always great murray
I always love seeing them walk off stage and leave all the props. It is even more interesting considering these are the Mr. Electric original props.
I am sure either he came back on stage to grab everything himself or the handlers grabbed em. I am leaning towards him because of the care he wants to use to be sure everything is fine with them and if something were to happen it would be his fault not others. I loved this it was no e to see. It may be a simple trick, but I am a simple man and easily fooled by magic. Made me smile
That was amazing
Love it
1:56 Penn and Teller both dropped their mouths in amazement.
Yip its Magic Murray
After the show he went on the parking lot and covered people's cars in milk.
You are hilarious 😂
I’d go see your show, Murray! If you don’t get a Las Vegas show after that, I’ll be very disappointed.
J PumpkinKing lol
If it doesnt exist i would loooove to see you go in to actually try to fool them. I like what u do a lot
Huge W
Gotta love when Fool Us and Pawn Stars collaborate lmao
Came here for this lol
Dude I remember seeing this guy perform in my elementary school in like 2003
Hey, it's the guy from pawn stars 🤩🤩
I love how P&T have such respect for those that paved the way for their success, and for the students of those forefathers who pay homage in their own acts. No, you didn't fool them, but the warmth that flowed between you was unmistakable. It was nothing but respect from one professional to another.
Murray rocks old video or not, watch him now.
That's a fun trick but very simple. Don't cry over it! 😉
Respect
Awesome performance Murray. didn't youtube delete like all of his videos for some reason not too long ago?
Class act
I've seen this guy as an expert on Pawn Stars!
I think this is the first trick I get how it was done threw and threw
I love murray street magic pranking cops and others peoples on yt
Wasn’t this guy on Pawn Stars once? They called him in to asses a straight jacket supposedly warn by Houdini.
Nice tribute. Yet, I would have liked to see Murray really challenge them.
The look on Teller's face.
Love this! But my guess is a fake pitcher with a concealment thing? ...and that the cord filled the lightbulb...
AMAZING job bro!
First magician i knew from beforehand on this show. But I bet you could have fooled them, but you didn’t seem to want to. Why? Also great act. I definitely was fooled on this.
Homage to one of his idols?
Murray didn't do this for the attention... he did it just to see Teller's face light up more than the bulb!!!
Honestly he could've brought DOZENS of tricks out there! Many of his own creation, but if you saw the look on Teller's face several times. Well then you know he was playing to a house of only one!
U are a nice guy
Pretty sure this guy has been on Pawn Stars
I saw you on Pawn Stars XD
After going through the comments, it seems am the only one who doesn’t know how the trick was done... especially the milk in the folded paper part. 😂
my guess is a gimmicked pitcher so when he is "pouring" into the paper its draining into a reservoir in the middle of the pitcher and once it's full he drips a little into the paper to make it look like he overfilled it. Then the rest of the trick is just simple stuff and the hardest part was for the girl to hold 1/2 gallon above her head.
wow
That a cool trick, but it would be cool to see a reimagined version where it would be harder to tell there's a real light above the one filled with milk. Using the incredible technology that is LEDs I'd imagine that you could get a much smaller base. Either way those are really ingenious props!
The real tell is the statement that it's a 500 watt light bulb. It's not bright enough, and would be way too hot for the assistant to hold for any length of time. What a great act though.
This guy was featured on History Channel's Pawn Stars, if I am not wrong.
Oh it's the dude from pawn stars
he's a super saiyan
Class act all the way!! But question, was he on Reno 911?? 😂 The bit where the cop tries to arrest him, but he keeps escaping the handcuffs and doing all his tricks? 😂😂😂
Ryan Rodrigues yes that’s him
I didn't know Jeff Goldblum does magic too!
Abdullah Al-Ruwaieh No, this is Chris Kattan with a dye job
Discount Rob Lowe
You obviously have no idea what Jeff goldblum looks like
I need to call a friend of mine
Weren't you on Pawn Stars with a Houdini stray jacket?
So you know, Reality TV is not real
wooo weeee *doing funky hand movements*
Yes it is him!
Murray doesn't need to win Fool Us. His RUclips channel probably makes enough money to keep him fed.
Teller is sitting there like, "Really? You came onto our stage with that trash?"
Does Fool Us give all performers the rights to their own segments? If so that's really cool. I see a lot of these clips that are on the magicians own you tube channel, obviously this show isn't run by Disney lol.
but how did he do it
20$ is all i can do ! And I'm taking the risk.
Was he the pawn stars expert?
Hey it’s Rick Harrison’s magic expert
The real magic is how he got his hair the way it is
Hello
Teller nearly spoke then
That’s Ricks magician expert from Pawn Stars.
