Hi, we had bad experience. We were excited to visit, a trip for two people. Please don't get fooled by the new rules. 1200/- per day, mandatory guide (who needs guide in these days), three star hotel accommodation, cab booked by them, local monument fees, food extra, imagine for two people for 4 days (2 days of stay) they gave budget of 39000/-. Definitely a beautiful unique country but not the worth hype they are making. So next time if you think of Bhutan, skip it, let them enjoy their way of life.
True, the cost of visiting Bhutan (staying in Bhutan) has gone up drastically for Indians. Earlier these rules were not applicable to Indians but not anymore. So we just visit the border towns, and return the same day which luckily is still free..

But basic medical assistance aap ko mil jayegi zarurat parne par. Overall Bhutan is expensive (except petrol), aur covid ke baad toh aur expensive ban gaya hai. Ab wahan Jana ya na Jana aap ki choice hain.
For starters you do not need "permit" to visit only phuentsholing.. It's just a check in through the immigration process (which has now been considerably eased down from the time it first started). And weekdays or weekends it doesn't make any difference.

An Indian citizen will have a voter card for sure (if 18 years or older) although he/she may not have a passport. And adhar card or other identification documents are not allowed for entry. Only Minors less then 18 years old, may enter with birth certificate, as they cannot have voter card. So if you are less than 18 years old, use your birth certificate., otherwise only voter card or passport are the only options. I hope that clears your doubt.

For entry with bike or car, you have to take an entry pass from the gate, head over to immigration office , get your registration done and qr code scanned (like the one shown in pedestrian entry) , then get an exit pass by exchanging the entry pass, after that you are free to roam in bhutan and exit to India within the same day. I have watched two youtubers from jaigaon though they simply traveled, pling town became one of the best place to visit. Torsha river embankment has been adorned and flyover, under pass near rsta office roads are being constructed in a better manner. Everything is fine there pedestrian terminal what you shared resembling any airport. But do provide one info that are they charging SDF for the visitors traveling beyond p'ling. One more thing they have augmented and issued hefty entry fees for Indians too to enter some of the landmark and monastic properties.
Hi there, sorry for the long interlude. Got a bit entangled with life. And to answer your queries, as of now, if you return the same day, then there I no SDF. But if you stay the night then there is a fee of 1200 rupees.. If you make a tourist permit then there is the fee(SDF). But if you can manage a working permit/ pass then the fee is substantially lower. So bottom line, Tourism in Bhutan just got expensive..
@@LifeTracksandHacks absolutely even they are charging 1000 nu per person to enter kharbandi and 2000 nu to trek to tiger's nest. That's a burden to the Indian tourist, Bhutan always believed in quality but right now this decision is somehow getting difficult to cope up.
Bhutan has not been tourist friendly (expense wise) in history anyways. Indians used to get some sanctions though, but it seems they are lifting them altogether.

If you spend the night in Bhutan as a tourist you need to pay SDF @ 1200 rupees per night per person. But if you return back to India (out of Bhutan) on the same day of entry then there is no fee to be paid. SDF can be paid at the immigration area for tourists ( check 8:51 time in this video for the location of tourist's immigration ) SDF can also be paid at the immigration office ( shown in next video) if you enter by vehicle.
Guides are not mandatory, except in very few remote/special areas. Cabs and bus from phuentsholing to other parts of Bhutan are available from the bus terminus present there. Bus tickets may also be booked from the Bhutan post office in phuentsholing.

Are you talking about Tourist visa of India Or Bhutan?? If you have single entry tourist visa for India then technically it will be a problem during re entry in India from Bhutan. But if you have multiple entry visa for India, then no problem. If you have Bhutan visa, then no need to go through the process shown in the video. 4 Wheeler le ja sakte hain, no extra charges if returning same day. Recently sunne me aiya hai ke 10 rupees entry ke dene par rahe hain gate mein, entry ke time pe (vehicle and pedestrian sbhi ke liye). New rule aiya hai I suppose. Aur phuentsholing town ke andar ghum sakte hain local area mein.

This visit did not cost us a penny, And it has been mentioned in the title. Recently a 10 ruppes fee has been implemented I heard, but am not sure. Still it is a nominal price for a casual visit.

Video acchi tarah se dekh lijiye, immigration counter ke pehele ek table mein registration ki bhi line hain. Jo self registration kar ke jate hain, unko wahan khada nahi hona padta hai. What if someone doesn't have Indian Passport or Voter Id? Can I enter with Aadhar card?

Indians do not need visa. You just need permit (by paying SDF) to visit and stay at places like paro and thimpu, (inside Bhutan), you can get that in one day office opens around 9

Bro, yeah video ekdum first din ki hai, tab bahut lambi line hoti thi. Isi liye jaldi pauchne ke liye self registration ka option main ne dikhaya tha. Registration tab bhi hoti thi ab bhi hoti hain. Ya to aap khud karo ya wahan ke staff kar dete the aap ke liye. Agar wahan ke staff kar de to aap ko jyada der tak rukna padta tha. Video acchi tarah se dekh lijiye, immigration counter ke pehele ek table mein registration ki bhi line hain. Jo self registration kar ke jate hain, unko wahan khada nahi hona padta hai.
Par waise bhi in dino jyada line nahi rehti hai, isiliye jyada kuch waiting nahi. Simple.
