I too saved a stray dog that was almost dead from starvation. She acted wild for a long time and I had to pay money I could not afford to give her the vet care she needed. I've had her for 10 years now. Even though I couldn't afford a dog I needed to protect her from ever having a bad life again. She has repaid me with friendship.
