My goodness! Real honest musicianship, proper notation, technique, and earnest joy in investment! 24 hours from now I will play in public. And only manage a small fraction of what I just witnessed. Goodness sakes alive!! Every time.
It’s this channel where the playing most reliably has the groove that is missing in so many other bass videos. You either got it or you don’t, and she’s got it!
Julia, thank you so much for putting extra groove in my life. Having soaked up as many of your fantastic videos as one man can in 24 hours, I've just bought a Jacksons 3CD box set (late 1970s) and a 4-CD Earth, Wind and Fire box set. I consider myself kinda lucky to be born in 1962, because when Fantasy came out, I worked out the chords on the piano, and drove my family mad by playing it non-stop. - Richard in the UK
Julia's version is so much hotter than the version in the chart here. More slides, more dead notes, the line just comes alive. It feels like how it'd be played by someone who's listened to Flea a bunch and couldn't help themselves... I know I couldn't 😁
Hey Julia! That was one of the best disco songs I've ever heard! The thing that was always tough for me was playing those octaves for 5 minutes. I like the way this line breaks up those eighth notes. You played it fine-tastic! Love the sound of those flat wounds.
One of my favorite bass lines! I wanted to hear Ms. Julia play this entire song in her favorite Jackson 5 basslines video, my wish has been granted today. It's always a treat to hear Ms. Julia's bass covers 😊 I have a question that @2:50 part in the original song, isn't that played with some overdrive with slap technique because it sounds more punchy?
Wonderful ! What about a next song of the Beatles ? Famous for Eric Clapton guitar solo... But extraordinary bass line from Paul McCartney. While my guitar gently weeps. I am sure you will perform it perfectly, Julia 😊 All the best, knarf from France 🎸 🇨🇵
Hi! you are an excellent bassist and have a great sense of groove. I recommend you listen to Dionne Warwick, especially the song 'Deja Vu.' It has an impressive bass line
Noice! The Mick Jackson version of this track is very interesting, as he seemed 2 B highly influenced by Stevie Wonder....so the track sounds like a Stevie tune.
Funny that this video came out last week, next week Tuesday and Wednesday I will be playing this song live with the school band on our school Summer concerr
Such a joy, Julia and Motown songs! I wonder if you’d consider covering Bad Company’s Good Lovin’ Gone Bad.. British rock but kinda.. funky bass line??!
One of my funk favorites. And as always, love your playing. You should take a listen to Paramore's Ain't It Fun. That's got a very groovy bassline to it.
There should be a "bass face" band composed of all the fab lady bass players of the world, including Este Haim from Haim and Johanna Soderberg from First Aid Kit along with Julia, make it so!
Let’s groove into the weekend with Julia. Thank you. 👍🏻 And as always, here’s your homework for next video: Theme from Alf, theme from Tatort (late 70s, second part), theme from Starsky & Hutch and the theme from Kojak 😁
Maybe I've missed it, but I've noticed lately the acoustic string bass in the background. Does Julia play the string bass? I'd love to see some of that!
Amazing bass line. You should listen to the spanish version of this song by Luis Miguel, is also good and also there is a Salsa version by Tony Succar, amazing covers too.
Thanks Julia, i am from that generation, 70's, 80's, you rock girl. congrat from Quebec, Canada
I think we can see your soul through your guitar faces. All I can see is joy and truth. I love your playing even more. Thanks Julia
Goid morning Julia, thank for this song, here in Chile its raining heavily
Julia nails it again, with an extra groovy twitch around @4:09 , the best stuff!
Thank you Julia for sharing your talent. You play with passion and it shows! 😊

Been missing you little sister !!! Glad to see/hear ya !!!!¡
When I see your name on the notification I hurry up and watch you do the thing, you're the best ❤️🎸🎸
My goodness! Real honest musicianship, proper notation, technique, and earnest joy in investment! 24 hours from now I will play in public. And only manage a small fraction of what I just witnessed. Goodness sakes alive!! Every time.
Es ist so schön zu sehen wie ein Bass mit Begeisterung und mitgrooven gespielt wird! Mehr davon!

May favorite Julia Hofer!!
Happy Summer
Epic Sound Of Philadelphia groove.
Some bass lines excel beyond the disco one beat up and down, and this is one of them, it even added a snarl to the beautiful bass face.
Love the Song…
Groovy Bass🎶🎶👍
A really cool phrasing inside a hypnotic groove
Great playing. Love her facial expressions. Gettin' into it

Great job! Was just listening to this song because of Tito Jackson's death. You rocked a very busy bass part.
True bass, must be played with total immersion in the groove
AI ain’t never gonna be able, to play like Julia 😌
Excellent ! Well done Julia ;-)
There should be a "bass face" band composed of all the fab lady bass players of the world, including Este Haim from Haim and Johanna Soderberg from First Aid Kit along with Julia, make it so!
