This particular video was supposed to be songs in English, the lyrics of which reflected the characters. The term 'character theme songs' is just generic and does not refer to the official theme songs. In regards to that, the 'true themes' of the characters would either be found in the BGMs for the games - when you play each characters route the music for the chapter select is different, and has been specifically composed to represent the characters, or in the released character songs - sung by the seiyuus for each character, often showing a certain aspect of their personality/story.
